My walls are Sw believable bluff , I’m torn between Sw extra white, high reflective white, Bm Chantilly lace, white dove , simply white for trim what is your opinion?
I am builing a modern farmhouse on 12 acres in Kentucky, as a single guy it is a big tast to pick all the colors. My living area ceilings are 23' high, with pine on the ceiling with oak beams. I have no idea of where t start as far as stain color, paint, and cabinets. Walls will be ready for paint in a week, or 2.

Thoughts on cotton balls for trim?? Specifically simply white vs cotton balls? I have a mostly north facing row home and cotton balls really seems to glow in my low light home. But I don’t know how it plays with other colors
Both are great colors for trim, and have nice warmth for a north-facing room. Cotton Balls is actually slightly darker than Simply White on the LRV scale. Also, Cotton Balls belongs to the yellow-green family, while Simply White is closer to the yellow family. You're on the right track with sampling both colors to see how they look in your space. I would also recommend comparing both of them with any potential wall colors you're considering to see which you like best.
Hi great video! Have you ever used Snowbound by SW for trim? What is the difference between Snowbound SW and White Dove BM? I am having difficulties with BM mixing colors other than their own. I love historical colors and I want Hale Navy and an off white for trim etc. in my living room. I used simply white previously and I loved it but I wanted something different this time without creating a cold look. I used simply white previously on the ceilings in eggshell with matching trim and doors and it looked very elegant!!! If you are painting a room all the same color would you paint the Billy board in a high sheen like the trim or would you paint it the same sheen as the wall? Thanks! 🙂
I'm not a huge fan of Snowbound for trim. It's not as bright or versatile as some other whites, and can take on a slight pink undertone. White Dove is slightly brighter, and is much more flexible with its stable greige tones. White Dove looks fantastic with Hale Navy, too!
If I use BM White Dove on walls, which trim would you recommend? Would BM Swiss coffee work for trim & kitchen cabinets if I do BM white dove on walls?
@@welshdesignstudio thank you! Now I have another question. I did white dove walls and trim in the kitchen. Which white would you recommend for cabinets? Would Swiss coffee work?
@Melissa, how did your kitchen turn out ? I’m thinking about the same colors I love the Swiss coffee I’m just a little concerned because I have white appliances. What ceiling color did you use ? Thanks
Some of them will work well for exterior trim, but the others are a little too bright for exteriors. Of the whites in this video, I'd recommend BM White Dove and SW Pure White for exterior trim colors.
I don't like cool colors. I have a ton of trim to paint in a new house we are remodeling. All of the woodwork that is not painted and won't be painted leans orange toned. It's a 1950's home with natural light coming in everywhere, but it's mostly diffused because of all the huge shade trees. I want a warm white that doesn't look too bright. Which one or two do you suggest?
I was going to go with simply white for trim, my walls are cloud white. But now you’re giving me second thoughts because you said it can look yellow :/ I don’t want anything that will look yellow, or bluish/cool like Chantilly lace
Simply White's coloring compliments Cloud White very nicely. They are fairly close to each other, so there won't be a ton of contrast. If you want your walls to stand out more against white trim, go with Chantilly Lace. Best way to choose is to get samples of all three and view them together in your space. Simply White rarely looks too yellow because it's nice and bright, but it really depends on the lighting. Chantilly Lace usually doesn't look too stark or blue, unless you're using it in a room that has cool lighting.
Great Video! I was wondering if you see any issues with using an off the shelf white paint on ceiling/trim and a tinted white on the walls?
Thanks for this info I have been trying to find the answers to most of what you answered
You’re welcome. Glad to hear it!
Thank you so much, Melissa. Your video helped me a lot with my students. You are amazing. 🤗🌹

Hey whats the two colors behind you
The wall color is Sherwin Williams Modern Gray
If I use BM White Dove on walls, which trim would you recommend? Would BM Swiss coffee work for trim & kitchen cabinets if I do BM white dove on walls?
I would recommend using BM White Dove for the trim, as well.

Are you recommending these whites for exterior trim too?

Would white wall work great on ceiling?
Not sure I understand the question, but White Dove works well on ceilings. And, all of the whites in this video will work great as ceiling colors.
Wonder what color is on the wall behind her?
It's Sherwin-Williams Modern Gray
Can you tell me the color of the wall in the background of the video?
It's Sherwin-Williams Modern Gray

Pretty sure flat walls are best for childless homes only.
