This suitcase looks like a gamer made their gamer laptop into a suitcase 😂😂 But fun features! I'm finally testing out all my Beis collection next month, and I'm def pushing it with their carry on size, and trying to sneak the east to west tote as a personal item...think I can do it with West Jet? 🤔🤔
I like the design, I over rugged if it actually is hardy
I want luggage to hold up more than look pretty.
What a bizarre bag. I totally don't get the front handle and it takes up a chunk of space inside. And the other handles protruding could jeopardize whether the bag is good for international flights. Thanks for showing the bag, but it would be a hard pass for me. Have fun in India! 💚
What you said! Lol
I will and thanks for watching!
I like the design. I think that the front handle would only be useful when when putting the suitcase in to and getting it out of a car trunk.
I have considering a hybrid suitcase. What’s the likelihood the latches become stuck or damaged
The wheels were one of the first features I noticed and am looking forward to your test of them! Can anything (even a curling iron) fit in the depression that the handle creates? Or is that totally unusable space? I would have thought you'd go for green, but I understand why you decided on black. I wouldn't use the charging feature and wouldn't use the outside little strap, but an interesting case over all!
I like just about everything except for the front handle. I just don't think it makes enough sense or even appears to be very usable. My first thoughts were "how would you even use that front handle" and then I heard you question the same. Other than that, I like the rugged look, I definitely would prefer the red! Thank you for the very informative reviews you always give! You provide so much detail on items that it's almost like being able to examine the item in person for myself. 👍
Thank you. I find it so important because there’s so many things you don’t get to see on an online website, and most aren’t in stores :)
That color green is really good on you
Thank you!
Zipper queen is back
I love how it looks!!! 😍😍😍 black and red are my favorite colors! (Can you tell? I’m a damn Vader fan 😂)
The problem with Max Porter II, and by extension their large Ultimax II is that, the conventional zipper middle section creates a lot of flex when trying to control, when you are maneuvering through traffic it increases more strain overtime vs a zipper-less style suitcase with a solid metal-frame middle and has zero flex. On top of that, the T style handle is very wobbly and you basically can’t properly stack a backpack or suitcase over it. The one I got the T-bar had a flop of 3/4”.
For the same price, I returned the Max Porter II and got the large Solgaard Trunk instead (after 20% off if you sign up for their newsletter). Their handle bar is more solid and feels great in the hand, the zipper-less metal frame middle is solid and feels MUCH lighter to maneuver, it also looks more modern similar to Monos & July…etc. All newer luggages trends are moving in this direction, for the same price why go backwards?
I reviewed the Solgaard carry on recently, and although I like the trunk, I dislike the closet. But unfortunately, without the closet, it is over 9 pounds, which is not great for this carry on girl :)
@@ItsTheKellys Ok I understand, I should specify I was only referring to the Max Porter II trunk vs Solgaard trunk (large check-in closet), which is light for a trunk, I’ve never used the carry-on from either company. Weight and size is a big factor for carry-on.
I’m doing a lot of research for large (checked 60-62” linear) trunk style luggage for my upcoming Japan trip and there’s not many comparison videos for trunks in general. I’ve went thru about half a dozen videos on your channel, it’s very detailed and helpful! It would be awesome to see multiple large trunks compared in a video, thanks!
@sganet_ unfortunately I only do carry on content, because I don’t check bags and teach how to do a carry on. But hopefully seeing the carry on’s can help you see the quality of what the larger trunk would be like :)
Can that handle be removed? Is there something that pops off with screws?
I was looking at luggage to purchase recently. Wanted a bit more security when I found how laughably simple it is to bust open traditional zip-locked suitcases. Looked at hard shell luggage that used latches but found them all to be too heavy and expensive.
Settled on a pacsafe 45L rucksack. It's still a carry on for nearly all airlines, the zip-lock are resistant to the pen opening trick, the entire bag is slash resistant with a built in mesh and it's far lighter which means more allowance for heavier items you may wish to pack.
Only downside is there are no wheels but airports have trolleys for luggage so it doesn't bother me.
I’m happy you found something to keep your items secure.
If luggage could be a cyborg 😂. But seriously, I do like it.
first initial thought is that silly front handle is going to take up unnecessary space.
What is the other brand bag with tamper proof zipper?
The only one I’ve ever seen besides this (and tried) is from Delsey
An Autobot more than meets the eye😊
😆
The only benefit of this bag is the zipper. All the differences are NOT beneficial: It won't fit in a carryon sizer due to all 3 inflexible handles, the front handle takes up inside space, the T-shaped handle grip dictates how you must place your hand while navigating the bag, the telescoping bars don't allow for packing between the bars taking more inside space, and the charging port is a personal preference thing (I prefer having the charging port in my personal item so I can use it on the airplane, if necessary)
Thanks for sharing
Not for me. I don't think that front handle is necessary and racked my brain to think of how I would use it. The only thing I could think was maybe pulling it out of the back of the car if it was loaded in on it's back. The look of the entire bag was giving me Avengers thoughts, again not for me. I do like the closer together handle. I have never been able to carry anything on the front of my Beis bag with that little hanger thing except maybe a shopping bag with light weight stuff. Anything else and it just doesn't hold.
That front strap is real gimmicky on every bag I’ve reviewed so far.
Right, the logo reminds me of Batman!
Brian said the same thing
It’s a good enough bag and the zipper is truly impressive but I hate the black color and the oversized logo. One of the refreshing things about your channel is the lack of the depressing tendency other traveling TH-camrs have of dressing in and accessorizing with a lot of black. I love that you don’t. All in all, I would prefer the red or green version of this bag.
I agree! Brian and I love bright colors.
That has to be the weirdest suitcase I have ever seen. And that handle in the center?? Oh heck no.
Looks futuristic. First impression: weird
It’s definitely different.
Too gimmicky for me. No thanks. The first two versions of the Nomad Lane Bento Bag had charging cords you connected your battery pack to and the your phone or whatever connected on the outside. Makes more sense because that is a personal item sized bag that you'll have under the seat. You're not going to pull this out of the overhead bin to charge anything. Don't get me started on that handle in the middle of the bag. WTH for?!
Yeah I always have my charger in my personal item, I will never understand the ones in the carry on’s, let alone the bags that come with them (and are horrible quality)
This one is a hard no. Those handles are all too big.
Thanks for watching!
