14:10 is an incredible still frame. You can see the wasp spray venom back onto the entomology forceps, which is something a lot of people don't know wasps do. By coating their intended target in venom, it applies a chemical marker that other wasps can use to identify the target. It's pretty much like painting a red x on coyote with a big flashing sign that says "sting here"

It’s so interesting, I’ve seen wildly varied reactions to warrior wasp stings ranging from virtually no pain to extreme pain… regardless, I wouldn’t be brave enough to test it😂

The close ups on these insects, the clarity with which we can see their entire anatomy and their eyes is just incredible. Secondly, a fun fact: The Warrior Wasp and the Tarantula Hawk typically refer to the same insect species, Pepsis wasps.

tarantula hawks and warrior wasps are nowhere close to the same species, warrior wasps are a species of eusocial wasp (family vespidae) while tarantula hawks are a species of spider wasp (family pompilidae)

It’s crazy. When you first grasped the wasp with the forceps you can see the venom it had shoot out onto green covers. Y’all caught the spray perfectly. I LOVE coyote. He’s amazing at what he does and I definitely admire him for his sacrifices

I think the reason why he screamed a lot louder and higher on the bullet ant sting then the executioner wasp was because the sting from the bullet ant hurt more much faster than the executioner wasp!

Here in Brazil, warrior wasps are pretty common, here, they are also called "Marimbondo". There is a nest of warrior wasps very close to my apartment and a few of them often get in here. I never kill them since i'd be probably stinged, I just use the lights of the rooms, to attract them or to the kitchen or to the bathroom, then I open the window, turn off the lights and close the door, they usually leave, and when they don't follow the light, I spray a chemical (Limpol limpa vidros with alcohol) and it somehow disorients them and they go towards the light.
I remember seeing this years ago, right after it first came out. It’s crazy how long ago that was
