- Is it true that you catch bigger pike with bigger lures? Today we go pike fishing and will put HUGE lures (30 cm+) against tiny lures (smaller than 10 cm) to find out the answer once and for all.

CraxedPripyat I fish in Alaska today was my first day fishing with a bait caster and I caught like an 8-10 inch pike they’re invasive here but we still throw them back because they’re so fun to catch
Buttery Boi I do not believe you. Either where you live the pike are tiny or you’ve never caught pike ever. 10” is probably 1.5 lbs or less.

I caught my biggest pike on a 3in. spoon it was 45" and 27 lbs. in metric it was 114.3 CM and 12.25 KG

Here's a tip: cut the top hook off the old Bull Dawgs. That single hook prevents solid hook-ups. On the newer models, Musky Innovations eliminated the top hook, altogether.

Real feelings and real fishing when as it is at it´s best, congrats to some really nice pikes, my ridicules pb of 9.97 kg was taken on a 12 gram Abu reflex spinner, a post spawn female with a "humangus" head and 118 cm very thin body, if she just could have eaten a stickleback for breakfast i´d have a 10 kg to my name ha ha! Because is cold out there is clear that the fish eating on the bottom were water is pretty warm , so you will have more results on jig! A good comparison is big jig lures vs small jig lures! Very nice content guys thumbs up 👌🎣👍(sorry for my English)

Pontus when a pike short strikes quickly stop realing in and let the lure sink as it sinks give the rod a few pops and 9 times out of 10 you can get a reaction strike. And when they follow to the boat like that do the figure 8 that the musky fisherman do. It works for pike just the same.

really is hard to make that right judgement call: big lures definately can cast a mile but shows too much imperfection. small lures hard to cast far but more suitable to fool the fish but also thats only possible if the fish is close by and can actually see the damn thing.... lol things i learnt while trout fishing
