@@wintertrooper7918 Quote from Schreier Book A game about the Inquisition and the large-scale political conflicts it solves across Thedas, where the PC was the Inquisitor, was originally the vision for ‘DA2′. Plans had to change when SW:TOR’s development kept stalling and slipping. Frustrated EA execs wanted a new product from BW to bolster quarterly sales targets, and decided that DA would have to fill the gap. BW agreed to deliver DA2 within 16 months. “Basically, DA2 exists to fill that hole. That was the inception. It was always intended to be a game made to fit in that” BW wanted to call it DA: Exodus, but EA’s marketing execs insisted on DA2, no matter what that name implied DAO’s scope (Origin stories, that amount of big areas, variables, reactivity) was just not doable in a year, even if everyone worked overtime. To solve this problem, BW shelved the Inquisition idea and made a risky call: DA2 would be set in one city over time, allowing locations to be recycled and months to be shaved off dev time. They also axed DAO features like customizing party members’ equipment. These were the best calls they were able to make on a tight line Many at BW are still proud of DA2. Those that worked on it grew closer from all being in it together In certain dark accounting corners of EA, despite fan response to DA2 and its lower sales compared to DAO, DA2 is considered a wild success By summer 2011 BW decided to cancel DA2′s expansion Exalted March in favor of a totally new game. They needed to get away from the stigma of DA2, reboot the franchise and show they could make triple-A quality good games.
I honestly find it impressive that they managed to release the game as it was on such a thin time crunch. Dragon Age 2 is no Origins, but for what we got? I'm impressed.
Friendly reminder that EA learned their lesson and gave BioWare all the time they needed to make Andromeda, Anthem, and Veilguard, all of which are worse than this.
this happens a lot with little indie projects, usually not so much big ones lol. i'm an amateur voice actress who works on little projects. like, i'm sure i've done some legit crappy VO that was indeed my fault...but also, you get some projects where they don't give you ANY context, or anyone's else's lines. or any idea of who the character is. so for example your lines could be, "Don't go that way!" and "I'm not sure you understand." sounds like simple enough lines to voice, right? you'd voice them like you were cross with the main character. but THEN you get sent the final product, and you realize it looks like you did a terrible job, because the character was supposed to be a sultry witch teasing the main character who was in their trap. so it was supposed to be more like "Don't go that way~ (poor thing~)" and you totally voiced it wrong. this doesn't happen terribly often because usually people...care about their project...but you'd be surprised how willing people are to throw money around in a mismanaged shitshow as well lol. if i think something is bad, i usually come up with an excuse to not have my real name attached to it.
My best example to pick is Lydia from Skyrim lmfao. I bet anything the actress received 0 direction because of the way she delivers "I am sworn to carry your burdens". I would expect her to say it all knight-like, but she makes it sound like she HATES carrying your things, it's fkn hilarious! "I am swooooorn to carry your burdens..."
@LeKekLord it really wasn't bad it just wasn't simple. It was about social and political tension and issues. Some people get bored by that but the way they handled build up was very well done. Especially with the Qunari. The Mage vs Templar conflict could have used a bit more time in the final act though.
@@CC-of5xl it was repetitive, with the same issue of dumb Meredith being mulled over with no choices on the way to actually fix the issue. Your choices didn't matter because bioware lobotomized Anders into an idiot and railroaded the game into explosive ending no matter what you do.
Maybe that boy is going through puberty. He could be 14 although Dragon Age is never really specific on how old the characters are.
Demons could be anywhere. Could be anyone...
The demon:
Friendly reminder that EA forced Bioware into ridiculous crunch and made them release the game after only a year of development, which is insane.
From concept to release was less than a year it's ridiculous

@AvengerAtIlipa that's not true at all but hey nice try
the voice reminds me of Cole, it's so similar
Also gave me thought of Scratch from bg3, they both share the same voice actor I think

You are right, EA forced Bioware to release this game much earlier than it is supposed to

grown ass man lol
I always assumed he was supposed to be a younger teenager (since DA doesnt have models for that)
Fun fact: That boy voiced David Archer in ME 2 and 3.
That dlc abt him was depressing.
Big daddy chill vibes from this video.
Wasn’t there a kid like this in Redcliffe?
Grow up? I'm 38 years old!
ShutupCricketdonttellthemthat
SHULK!
Is that Coles voice actor?
It does sound like him but it’s not
😂
Still better than veilguard
I mean DA2 was a collosal failure on all fronts, mismatching VA is the least of problems really.
Not all fronts. It's story and characters were far better than DAI.
Especially considering they only had 11 months to develop it, I would call it a triumph ngl
@@CC-of5xl like 2 characters were interesting, the story was just as bad as their map design.
