Electric cars will increase demand on electricity which will have to be met by additional power plants which run on gasoline. So all electric car doesn’t mean no pollution.

Electric power plants do not run on gasoline. Most of them do run on fossil fuels (natural gas or coal) though. I think that's what you meant. But even in the case of when a coal power plant is supplying the power that is used to charge an electric car, due to the far higher thermal efficiency of an electric car, the overall amount of fossil fuel used to create that electricity for the car and the amount of pollution created is lower than an internal combustion engine (ICE) car. I'm not saying we all need to give up our ICE cars - I'm not about to get rid of mine! And of course, in addition to the (lower) levels of pollution created by the power plants that supply the electricity, there is great environmental damage caused by the mining of the Lithium required to make the batteries.

Along with introducing electric cars, we’d have to deal with their significantly heavier engines compared to gas-powered vehicles. This means we'd need to rebuild roads and bridges to support the added weight. So, where’s the logic in that when we’re already allocating money we don’t have to superficial fixes?
