    Just updated mine last night and wouldn't have been able to accomplish this successfully without the hints about starting the software before you turn on the THR10. Once I did that the update started processing once I powered the THR10 on. Prior to that, having the THR on connected and starting the update resulted in the software just hanging.

    I did this and now my thr30II that just came today doesnt work anymore. in the tunner leds a letter "u" appears and thr remote says "no device". reseting with buttons doesn't work. the firmware update ended succesfully and turned off the thr after. when i turned back on it was like this.

    My thr remote app usb symbol keeps blinking

      Sorry to hear this, I’m not exactly sure what issue you may be having. Try turning the THR off and then on again, while it’s plugged into the computer via USB, I’ve had to do this a few times and then the computer will recognize the amp. Then I would make sure you’re running the latest firmware and update.

    Off topic: Whats the difference between the G10T or G10TII in terms of Using a THR30II without Guitar cables? Appreciate any input.

    I think I got it but at minute :57 all of a sudden you got a screen showing the Yamaha installation. Did I miss where you installed the downloaded app? Does it automatically install to a specific location on a drive?

      Usually you want to download the app to your "C" drive or operating drive, not another storage location. Hope that helps.

    Absolutely frustrating folks. 😔
    I run ProTools, I record bands all the time, and for some reason I’m just completely lost as to how to get this amp to record via USB.
    I’ll just keep going direct unless anyone has any helpful suggestions.

      Connect the THR-ii to USB into your computer and ProTools should instantly recognize the THR-ii as an audio interface. If not, select it manually.

      I just solved the second problem. It was just installing the lastest version of the thr app, then it could detect the update needed.

    How do you find new "Open" cabinet tuning vs old "Focused"? I tried THRII30 twice and returned it, because I didn't like that focuses, dull sound....

      I guess the THR is not for everyone. I happen to really like the amp though.

      I think you select it in the mobile app… should be an option to use open and I’ve heard it sounds better

      The only time I've seen the U is when it's been updated. I would try updating the firmware on your amp and see if that fixes it.

      @@coolgmr1517 yes try a factory reset. Make sure the computer that you're updating with has the newest version of the THR remote app.

      @@coolgmr1517 I'm really sorry you're having this issue. I haven't had this issue with my amp, so I can't speak to the specific problem. Check some forums and see if anyone else has the same issue. You may need to return the amp to the store you bought it from or see if there's a manufacturer warranty from Yamaha and return it.

    Thanks for the video Drew, but I'm afraid I fell at the first hurdle. When I open up the Tools window, it doesn't show the update button. What now?
    I was going to try the firmware update to see if I could kickstart the Bluetooth connection which stopped working about a month after the 12-month guarantee expired. Pressing the Bluetooth button no longer does anything.
    Nice little amp, but perhaps not the most reliable. Whereas your version says it's 1.31.0k, my version
    is 1.40.1a)

    I have problem. With my thr30. When i turn it on ... there is always a buzzing sound... Have you ever heard of this problem. because I don't know what to do. I have it for just 1 year and it work well since 2 week.

    I like the sound and generally love Yamaha products, but I find the App Very Buggy! And I've used it with MacOs, Windows, and iOS, with USB and Bluetooth. The Firmware Update feature almost always fails and the App hangs. Other than that, it's a good sounding portable "amp"

      Try uninstalling and reinstalling the software. Also, try turning the amp off and then on again while it’s plugged into the computer via USB.

    Can your Line6 G10 transmitted firmware be updated using the Yamaha USB connection to your computer?

      Yes, when you have your THR plugged into your computer via USB, the Line 6 G10 will automatically update when you run a firmware update.

    PS! I ve got failure warning every times. It’s not enough to use USB cable. Even THR IS FULLY CHARGED YOU HAVE TO USE power cable when updating 👍

    Just updatet my THR-II 30 for the first time and also had troubles first time. Second try...worked but presets didn't restore... all presets gone and unfortunately I just don't seem to get the same sounds out of it anymore, it just sounds a lot thinner...Anyone knows if I can find the back-up presets on my computer or maybe the factory presets online or experienced something like this? Kinda frustrating...sounded really good before the update...

      Try doing a factory reset on your THR, and maybe running the firmware update again. Sorry you're having issues man!

      @@DrewCreal Thanks for the response, no worries, these things happen. In the meantime I did discover the factory presets through the app and was able to create some nice new sounds but I still have a feeling that it’s not entirely sounding as before the update. Especially the clean amp setting seems to be thinner. Might try that factory reset. This is probably also done through the app somehow? Thanks again. Take care.

      @@DeGroove there’s a setting you can change that I’ve heard makes the speaker better. Something in that app you set it to open? Not sure I just got mine delivered today and I’ll mess with it when I get home from work. I don’t have a working PC unfortunately but I’ve heard the newer ones may already be updated? Again not sure just what I’ve read online

      Try turning the amp off and then on again while plugged into the computer. Try a different USB cable, try uninstalling and reinstalling the THR Remote amp or maybe try a different computer all together to update the firmware. I'm sorry you're having this issue.

    I didn't turn on amp for 2 weeks no it sounds like crap. The Bluetooth speaker sound is horrible any idea how to fix it?

      I think you can control the treble and bass for the bluetooth playback portion of the amp. I didn't think it sounded that bad.

      @@DrewCreal If it doesn't crash immediately, it only recognises the amp via Bluetooth or USB about 50% of the time, and it never ever makes it past the "back up your presets" stage. Didn't work? Try again. And on and on and on.

    With today’s technology there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be able to do this with an app? I don’t even have a working PC anymore unfortunately… haven’t needed one until now
