    Thank you for this nice video about THR controlling. As a THR30w owner, I’m trying to control my practise amp with a Behringer FCB1010 (UNO equipped), through the THR remote installed on a Macbook Pro 2012 (High Sierra). Wired Midi is ensured via an iRig Pro. Actually, it’s effective: Footswitches 1 to 5 control THR presets 1 to 5; footswitches 6 to 8 control THR FX (modulation, delay, reverb), and footswitch 10 acts as a Tap tempo. Exp pedals are also effective, but I’m still not sure to use them in my setup. The concern I have, and it’s a major one, is the lack of communication from THR Remote to my pedalboard. This is very annoying since I can’t trust the on/off effects from my fcb1010, in correlation with the FX (de)activated in the current THR preset. For sure, I have to investigate this concern... Anyone an idea?

      That's pretty cool that you hooked up the FCB1010 to control your THR. That's a huge pedal though! I like the Airstep because it maintains a solid connection and the pedal is relatively small. It even fits in the THT carrying bag. Thanks for watching and good luck with your setup!

    This question has been asked before but not answered. I too would like to hear the answer to this question. Basically after tweaking “tones” and assigning buttons to do certain functions and saving etc. Is it still necessary to have apps running on say iPad or phone? Or is it possible to do all your setup and then put phones and iPads away, and just be able to pick up your guitar turn on the Airstep and THR and it will function as you had previously set it up to function. Your going to say that there is a dedicated airstep yt for thr. But what I can see from it, it’s not as flexible as the airstep light or regular airstep. I don’t want to be stuck with the way they have assigned the functions etc. So in a nut shell do apps have to be running while using this with a THR ? Keep up the great work.

    Thanks for the tutorial. I have a question: After you set up the Airstep Lite via the Yamaha app do you have to remain linked to the app to use the Airstep or are your settings saved within the Airstep, allowing you to shut down the app? In short: are your Airstep settings dependent on a running THR Remote app? Thank you!

    Great review. Question: Can you still play jam tracks from your device to the Thr after connecting the air pedal via Bluetooth? What I mean is will it still be able to play tacks through Bluetooth while the foot switch is connected? Thanks!

    • @DrewCreal
      @DrewCreal  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you can still play along with backing tracks while the Airstep is connected!

    Question: For controlling effects, does this only do Chorus, Delay, and Reverb? What about controlling the Phase and Flanger ala Unchained (VH)? Not familiar with the THR interface, but noticed you were only adjust the three previously mentioned effects.

    • @DrewCreal
      @DrewCreal  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The different parameters of each THR effect can be controlled with the AirStep LITE, you just have to program them to be controlled using the THR app as shown in this video.

    • @DrewCreal
      @DrewCreal  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      XSonic has a new controller out directly controls the THR, and you can flash over your AirStep LITE to directly control your THR. I've got some new videos on how to do this coming out very soon.

  • @seveneleven315

    I wonder, if the iPad is always needed or if the Airstep can also direct connect to the THR?

  • @Xzvsc
    @Xzvsc 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why I can't get nice high gain tone for metal like dream theater etc. It always ended up sounding kinda dry and harsh. I'm using Yamaha pac612 (TB14) and via amp line out

    • @DrewCreal
      @DrewCreal  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like you've got a really nice guitar! To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of the direct out sound for recording. I almost think it would be better to mic the amp for recording. Or just a mixture of direct and mic.

  • @BassOntario

    Can you use the airstep plus plug in a wireless guitar system or can you only do one or the other.?

    • @DrewCreal
      @DrewCreal  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can use both. The Airstep uses Bluetooth and the wireless uses something else.

  • @allicouldbleed

    What is the delay in switching presets? Is there a sound interruption?

    • @DrewCreal
      @DrewCreal  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Minimal delay when switching between presets, probably .5ms if I had to guess. With the new Airstep YT there is no delay because it is a direct BT connection.

    After initial setup via iOS bridge app - is it required to always turn on app on iOS? Or can I use Airstep and Thr together, without any app (after initial setup)?

    • @DrewCreal
      @DrewCreal  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately there's no background operation available with the iOS version of the THR app, you have to have the app up and open to use the switch. I'm sure they are only a few updates away from solving that issue. The issue comes from Yamaha, not any of the bluetooth switch makers.

  • @simonmaton
    @simonmaton 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for that! One thing you didn't make clear was if you need to have the app for both devices running on an iOS device to control the amp?. Have you tried Positive Grid BT-4 pedal with the THR? I am struggling to get my BT-4 pedal to control my THR30II. The THR app does not see the BT-4 (or it's app) as a bluetooth device, whereas I can see both devices with MidiFire, but when I try to send a midi command (PC or CC), the THR app does not respond! Sorry to highjack your thread but I really need help and there is not too much info out there! :-)
    Regards Simon

    • @DrewCreal
      @DrewCreal  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Simon, sorry I'm getting back to you so late. Have you checked out my newer Airstep videos? You can actually directly connect the Airstep LITE (or Airstep YT) to the THR, no app required.

    Do you happen to know if you can hook up expression pedals (for volume swells) on the Airstep LITE? I believe you can on the standard version but am not sure about the LITE version.

      I think I've narrowed down the problem. Your amp use midi cc to change, I need HID to change my Spark amp, and I am still trying to find someone to tell me the right key values to put in. I appreciate your help

      It's $179 for the Airstep Lite, although XSonic has now released an Airstep YT for $99, not bad if you ask me considering that the Airstep LITE can control and slew of devices.
