Thanks for the ideas. Typically I try to just toss the bouy to the left or right of the brush pile. Larger piles I might use 2 markers. Sometimes I'll pull them up and toss another if I don't like the placement
Nice catch guys ! You guys fish” old school “the way I do . Marker buoy , with jigs and no scope . I haven’t seen ya’ out there when I’ve been out lately . I’ll probably Bass fish tomorrow. I have enough Crappie in the freezer. Maybe I’ll see ya at the ramp in the near future . Fall fishing is my favorite time to get out now since I quit hunting . Less boat traffic and the fish are more predictable and concentrated on the brushpiles . Take care , and keep up the good content on TH-cam !
@ good luck in the morning ! Maybe I’ll see you on the water ! Bass fishing is fun on Smithville , but the good bite won’t last too much longer this fall once the water temp gets below 50 . I caught Crappie on jigs last winter up until Christmas.
@scottmann61 Every fall, I say im going to bass fish Smithville, but I can't stop crappie fishing. One of these days... I'd like to target walleye also sometime.
@@alloverthelake6396 It’s fun ! I used to fish Bass tournaments when I lived in Tennessee over 20 years ago , but I still enjoy fishing for them for fun now on Smithville . I have fished Smithville mostly for Crappie and Bass since 2010 . I just enjoy the challenge of Bass fishing and the variety of patterns , techniques and lures I can use to catch them on any given day , based on the conditions and mood of the fish .
@scottmann61 I love bass fishing! I just don't have as much experience doing so. At some point, I'd like to do a fair amount of bass fishing. I've only ever fished 1 bass tournament on Truman. I love how aggressive bass can be.
@ 10:16 these guys here on the video show the signage as proof which clearly depicts “no fishing” ….(with the hook out of the fish’s mouth)…in other words… no missing the fish…No Fishing!…. 😏ONLY CATCHING! To which these fellas here understood and obeyed the Rules precisely…. They set those hooks inside the fishes mouths and did only CATCHING!😆✊🏾🫵🏾👏🏾🎣
I’d like to see a video on how yall mark your brush piles. My bouy always seems to be way off from where the actual pile is!

We are actually fishing tomorrow, too. Probably start at 7 down by the dam. One of these days, I'd like to do some bass fishing at Smithville.

How do you know where the brush is related to the marker buoy?
When I see the brush piles on my fish finder I throw the buoy to the right or left of the brush piles.
Nice crappies what is the name of your fishing rod the white one
It's a 10 foot ultralight crappie max from bass pro shops
Hello, what are you fishing for?
Crappie
