I discovered the roads around Epping Forest recently - I associated all the roads with the fast 50mph one so didn't want to commit suicide on that. Drivers seemed decent on Church Rd - i'll give this route a shot since I'm in Walthamstow. Requested you on Strava to grab it!
Hey! Thanks for watching and commenting. I've not ridden around those way much but from people I know and what I see on Strava, Lot's of people would head to Windsor from NW2. There are a lot of ridders in St Albans as well so I would assume there are some good roads/routes there. I wish I could be of more help, but hopefully that gives you an idea. 👍🏽 Safe riding
Hi Abid, thank for your comment. If you search for Motts Hills Epping, that is the main one (the one I go up in the video). Then you can turn right onto Church Road at the top of Motts Hill. Church road eventually turns into Lippitts Hill. Lippitts Hill then joint the bottom of Motts Hill. Loop complete. I hope that helps? 😁
Do you have more than one camera to record the different POVs during the ride? Or do you stop and mount your camera in a different position? New to GoPro and trying to understand how the filming of different POVs during a bike ride works. Thank you!
Hey Vittorio! After some experimenting I have a few methods to get the shots that I like. Here is my best info/advice 😁 1. I only use 1 camera for all shots out on the road (GoPro Hero 7) 2. I have a handle bar mount which I use for recoding long sections of road. In my recent videos I've moved away from this though as it does rattle a little bit. It's still very hand to have, you can clip the camera on and forget about it 3. Chest mount - This is my favourite at the moment. It's really stable and you can access the camera without issue. Sound is the hardest to get right. Mainly because of the wind when riding. If sounds not an issue then that makes things easier. I normally take 2 mics out with me. The Rode Video Micro and the EDUTIGE ETM-001. Rode is really good in the wind. Edutige is really good for capturing everything (but not so good in the wind) For a lot of the shots I simply hold the camera. In reality to get the best shorts you need to be able to point the camera exactly where you want it, holding it gives you that flexibility. I hope that helps you out mate! If you do record and post any videos then send them my way and I'll check them out!! Safe riding.
@@JourdainColeman thanks so much! That’s super helpful. I just bought a GoPro Hero 9 and a simple handlebar mount for now. I have no idea how to use it or what I’m going to do but I know I love recording videos so... we’ll see! Was really intrigued by the different POVs I saw in your videos (the one looking at the back wheel is super cool) and was wondering if you had to stop during your ride to mount the camera there to record that bit. There’s also a swivel mount included so might see if I can use that for something. I’ll definitely post something on here sooner or later. Thanks again!
That's similar to what I done to be honest, buy the camera and then experiment. 👌🏾 For the view looking backwards I'm simply holding the camera. I can swap the camera position whist riding now (after some practice). So whilst riding I'll unclip it from my chest mount and hold it for a while, then put it back in my chest mount. One important tip is knowing when to record and when it's safe. I normally tell the people I'm riding with that I'm recording and they pay extra attention and shout out anything up ahead or cars overtaking. The swivel mount is pretty good on the handlebars, I've used this before quite a few times. It makes it easy to get good angles. Just make sure everything is nice and tight so the GoPro doesn't change position as you hit bumps. Another tip is to use some excess bar tape (if you have any) around the bar before you put the handle bar clamp on. It protects the bars and gives it some cushioning to stop vibrations. have fun recording! 👍🏽
@@JourdainColeman oh thank you so much for all these tips. So helpful. I don't know how you can switch mounts whilst riding haha that's definitely a PRO skill! I find them a little fiddly with all that screwing and unscrewing but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it eventually. Thanks again!
You don't need to unscrew, just unclip the whole slidey bit of plastic (if that makes sense) hahaha It's a little fiddly at first but once you get the hang of it, you are good to go. 👍🏽
Good question hahaha - They are fresh in this video, they don't look like that now I'm afraid. ☹️ But in all seriousness, I use Dettol multi-purpose cleaning wipes. They work pretty well 👍🏼
I don't have a mountain bike at the moment, although every now and again it creeps into my mind. Maybe in the future I'll look to get a mountain bike and head into the trails. I do have a gravel bike which allows me to good off road!
Thank you! Just moved to the UK (Stratford actually) and will absolutely be trying this route soon. Looks really nice
No problem at all. There are plenty of routes into Essex for you to discover. 👌🏼
What a beaut route :-) Fab video!
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed! 😁
Another top vid Jourdain!
Cheers Lloyd! Thanks for the feedback 🙏
great video to show the route nearby London !
Thanks, Kai! Glad you enjoyed the video 😁

Looks like the activity isn't available - can you share a GPX?
such a nice road and another good vid!
Cheers mate! We need some more appearances form the BigStack
Nice video, nice route. It looks like not many cars, safe to ride.
Any routes like this in NW2 going north or West?
Thanks

For hill climbing training

@@JourdainColeman Thanks that makes sense. I’ve been up motts hill a few times but had no idea I could make it a loop
Great video mate! 👍🏽
