- Today I'll show you pictures of a direct comparison between Equinox and Seestar S50. We start with M82, the Cigar Galaxy. On the left you see the pictures of the Euinox, on the right of the sea star. First you see the results directly on the devices. Then processing follows. Then you see the determination of astrometry. M27, the Dumbbell Nebula follows. Each object has a recording time of 45 minutes. Equinox has an exposure time of 45 minutes, but Seestar only has 25-28 minutes. The Andromeda Galaxy M31 is too large for the equinox. The view at Seestar is a little better. The next object is the Iris Nebula. It's nice to see it with Equinox and Seestar. The difference in exposure times comes from the time it takes to take an image. Equinox records 4 seconds, but Seestar records 10 seconds, so the loss of an image is greater. When an image is disabled, it takes 4 seconds to equinox and 10 seconds to starfish. Given the images of M33, the Triangular Galaxy, I say: Good buy for today.

I’d say the SeeStar, at $500, holds up pretty well against the $2,500 EQUINOX 2.
yes, I agree. It is a good device for beginners an as a second device. I use both, so I can take more pictures in a clear night.
Are you using the original eQuinox, or the more recent and upgraded eQuinox 2?
Hi, I use the first edition.
What telescope would you pick
If you want only one, I would prefer the Seestar. It has good quality and price.
Eqionox is 114 mm the SeeStar S 50 is 5Omm not even close comparison. Eqionox has more than double the aperture of the S 500 and cost three times as much.
Seestar is easier to use. You can travel with it.
@lighstwatch - SeeStar version #1 is for the beginner. SeeStar version #2 (intermediate) plans are ... Larger Diameter Lens + Equatorial Tracking + Mosaic Stitching. SeeStar version #3 (expert) ?
@@MrSummitville Can you buy Seestar #2?
