It's genetic 😢 Hubby is doing well he now goes to the
Divita center were they filter his blood 3× week for about 5 hrs. He's now my caregiver as well as I go through this Lung Cancer Journey . So we have each other and my 95 year old Father who is Amazing VERY independent hard headed Italian lol

Yes to pets being good for us.I have an 18 y.o. Shitzu who is in the last stage of her life. I don't know how life will be for me when she's gone but I don't want her to suffer so I'lllet her go when her time comes.As we age we seem to have more change than ever or is it we're older & life is more of a struggle due to aging.

I am taking care of my 82 year old husband right now and it is really hard on this 78 year old! I wish he was in a place like Moosie till he gets better. You look great and so relaxed, enjoy your peaceful surroundings!!
Harley is so cute, I think she thought you were talking to her when you were recording🥰, Such a loved video at a beautiful place and wonderful to see you relaxed and enjoying some me time. I think once you were given the prognosis and the wondering of what will be it’s probably helped as you know now what to expect! Bless those sweet girls for laying eggs for you. I bought some fresh eggs at my local Natural food mart and they were different colors, some pale greens, brown and cream, not white. They are beautiful, I hate to destroy them.

I don't use many eggs but when I have extras, I make things like corn bread or cake/cookies that call for eggs but these things can be frozen for use in small amounts over time.
Beautiful area Nanny. I'm like you, no stairs without a railing. Knees don't bend easily. Moosie looks like his pain is subsiding some and he is a little stronger.. Continue prayers.🙏🙏

Just love love loved this video! I sure wish I had just a fraction of your optimism. I’ve always been a worry wart. Your kind, loving, positive, soft spoken ways are such a blessed gift. The way in which you carefully, trimmed Moosie’s beard. Which really a distinguished look on him.
My pets, 2 dogs passed away They just KNEW how I felt. My cockatiel had always flew gently to my coffee mug & he would take SIPS of it, lol. So endearing. Just like you are.
Think that’s what’s missing in my life…a pup. Even though I had cared for 3 then 4 labs. They passed. Then took care of 4 of my cousins’; a huge lab mix, an old cranky min-pin, a chihuahua terrier mix (obstinate), and another gold lab/retriever for 3 months. Just not the same as one of your own (not those last 4).

Good morning Nanny. What a wonderful video. The garden is magnificent. I can hear the water running into the pool which gives us calm. The weather is fantastic and the presence of our best friend, gives us serenity. I’ve always had dogs and cats, I know how much they love us. It’s a paradise on earth, Water, sun and fresh air. Fresh eggs every morning ? A dream for those who live in big cities. I loved seeing Moose in such a good mood. It’s so true, he really looks like one of my favourite writers, Ernest Hemingway 😊. Living alone means we can do that .Housework can always be done later .Read a good book ,I find that sends me to sleep,if that fails I also take a tablet to help me sleep .

Dear Nanny, I am keeping you and your Moose in my prayers even though you may not see many comments from me these days, but I did listen to you and always give a thumbs up. Since you are near a swimming pool, I was wondering if you can use the pool sometimes for just a little gentle exercise in the pool water to strengthen your legs and knees?Usng perhaps a bid floating tire to keep you afloat and just move your legs around? That is what I would do if I had access to a swimming pool. About taking sleeping medication with the meds you mentioned, I really hope you don't mind me saying this but please do more research on the ill effects of these meds to joint health and also to the brain and memory. These medications you mentioned can effect in a negative way you body and brain. There exists alternative natural foods and herbs you can take that do not have the side effect the meds you mention do have. Someone who you may like to listen to on healthy eating healthy is Markus Rothkranz. Even though you may like to continue in your eating the way you do,you can still learn a lot on good nutrition from just his videos and exchange talks with some of his guest on general health. I hope this message does not get erased because of something I wrote. My intentions are for good and to be of help. God bless! ❤🙏💕

I am an RN and have to say a word here about Tylenol PM. Please check with your doctor about the advisability of taking it for sleep! It contains benadryl, which is associated with many risks, including falls, in those over 65. I couldn't live with myself if you would fall and I had not mentioned this.

Hi Dear Nanny fabulous video , you and Harley have done a great job whoops and Shamu of course , I must say I’m another that likes Moosie with his beard he looks great . And you suit the denim I love denim still even though I’m nearly 81 and some frown on someone my age in blue jeans and denim shirts I just don’t care I like them so that’s it , it’s lovely to see your sun considering we have been getting some miserable weather in parts of the UK . I love dogs but can’t manage a dog as balance not good with the MMN Disease but I did take in a stray cat and can manage him although he’s very demanding but would hate to be without him as don’t see anyone really only on my trips to hospital every 4 weeks , but I just love his company so pets are good for our well being . Hens do like to hide away some times to lay there eggs so you may find a nest hidden away with eggs in 😄, do be carefull we don’t want any falls or bumps take great care whilst on your own sending you big Hugs and blessings 🥰💕🦮🐈⬛Xx

I grew up in public housing back in the '50's & '60's & animals weren't allowed. Then I married a guy who believed animals belonged outside ( he grew up in Greece where that was the norm) so I have never owned any kind of pet. Anyway, we have spent a few months in Long Island this summer ,where my niece has a beautiful German Shepherd & I have fallen in love with him! He actually followed me around constantly these past few weeks,forgetting his " parents " & it made me smile every time someone commented that I must be the new pack leader! Lol!

Dear Nanny: I so agree with you on the healing power of pets. I have two kitties and they are always at my side to give me love . When I am feeling down, my kitties always seem to make me feel better. I know that my mother always enjoyed visits from cats and dogs when she was in her last years in a nursing home. Have you thought about taking Shamu or Harley to visit Moosie? By the way, Moosie is looking good and I am glad that he is happy with his new living arrangement.
