    Thank you exactly to the point everything I needed to know, except one question, zone 6, started mine late in the year in pots.. how late is too late to plant outdoors? Frost will come soon did I miss the opportunity to plant my sage outdoors?

      @terramatergardens  ปีที่แล้ว

      In zone 6 it is probably too late to plant outdoors especially if it is a young plant. It may not survive the winter.

    Thanks for the video. I want to ask is it a good idea to plant different species of sage in same pot or not?

    • @terramatergardens
      @terramatergardens  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure, but it depends on your intentions. If you are trying to maximize yield, you want to give them the space they need to grow. Sage still grows well in crowded spaces, but most likely will not get as large as it could. Also, if one sage gets sick, the others most likely will too.

    Can you propagate sage cuttings in water? We had the first round of frost, but hasn’t phased the plants. After they die off, I’m assuming some may return in the spring

      So you can propagate sage cuttings in water, although I have never had success doing it YET! I love sages, but growing them from seed and cuttings is a little more difficult than most. I usually split my sage plants into multiples to get more.

    Hi! I bought a small plant in a pot and the stems are falling all over the place.
    I've put tiny stakes in ..
    When it's large - does it need any support? 🤔
    Thank you.

      If it is a Sage plant, it’s most likely a watering issue. Overwatering or not enough water will cause Sage to fall over. Overwatering will lead to fungal diseases. Make sure the pot has enough drainage and don’t let it dry out for too long. Sage rarely has to be stake, if it does, then it’s usually seeking more sunlight.

    Most annoying inconsistent herb on earth. Last year I got it to germinate( direct sow in containers) now this year I can’t get it to sprout. It’s been over a month so I decided to use the paper towel method to see wTH IS GOING ON.

    I need ph level which minerals to fertilizer soil with if this happens then do this type situations not a history lesson you growing tips

    • @terramatergardens
      @terramatergardens  ปีที่แล้ว

      No worries, history has a big impact on understanding how to properly grow a plant. pH levels are pretty much the same for the majority of plants, so I will give you my quick how to: most gardening plants require a slightly acidic soil range of 6.0-7.0. When pH really comes into play in the home garden is when plants require more acidic soil, such as blueberries that like it around 5.5. Keep your soils between 6.0-6.5 and you will probably never have any issues with soil pH in the garden.

    Great video, but please don't say "Sage in one minute" when your video lasts 1 min 46 secs. ( just saying)
