Introduction to APISTOGRAMMA MACMASTERI: Fish Profile (Apistogramma macmasteri)
I. Hate. Wood rats. Overnight, they can absolutely destroy any electronic component in your vehicle and pop up a nest. Been there. You ever drive out in the really rural areas and see a huge pile of sticks surrounding the base of a tree? That would be a pack rat/wood rat nest. Tons of them living in it. They're a bunch of thieving fools.
What do they eat
EVERYTHING! They eat algae, biofilm, decaying plant matter, leftover fish food, fish waste, dead or decomposing organisms, they'll even eat some soft aquatic plants if the plants are struggling.
@@terramatergardens do I need to put extra food for the snails or will they just eat the left over fish food
@@Amandarobertson-d7o No, you never want to feed these snails directly. They will multiply rapidly if you do. They will be perfectly fine eating whatever is left over.
@ ok thanks
Gorgeous 😊
are geraniums related to begonias? I love that earthy scent ✨
Great question! Geraniums and begonias aren’t directly related, they belong to different plant families. However, they do share some similarities, like being easy to grow favorites for gardeners! And yes, that earthy scent of geraniums is amazing, it's one of their most unique features! Thanks for watching and sharing your love for plants!
Thanks for the comment!
rats are real, people! ive seen one!
Me too!
🙂✨
so cool🙂✨
Great! Thanks
I would like to know why you should keep them away from bean and strawberries (and one more plant) Thanks. Nice video and I like the history too.
Thank you so much for the kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and the bit of history on red giant mustard. As for why they should be kept away from beans, strawberries, it mainly comes down to companion planting principles. Mustard greens can exude chemicals into the soil that may inhibit the growth of beans and other legumes. With strawberries, mustard greens can compete heavily for nutrients, and their strong flavor/aroma might deter pollinators or beneficial insects. Some gardeners also avoid planting them near certain nightshades like tomatoes due to potential pest attraction.
❤❤❤❤from sri lanka
Thanks for the support!
Yo no offense but your plant here looks like mint. ;)) I know Lemon-Verbena - it has smooth edged leaves! use that stuff every day.
Thank you for your input! I can see why you might think it looks like mint, Lemon Verbena and certain mints can appear similar at first glance, especially when it comes to their elongated leaves. However, there are a few key differences to note: Lemon Verbena leaves are often smooth or very subtly serrated, but they aren’t as deeply toothed as most mint varieties.Crushing the leaves is often the giveaway. I got this from Pikes nursery (not that nurseries never get idenficiations wrong), but it is lemon verbena. I have grown it many times. Yours may just appear to be slightly change, through adaption or reversion. Thanks again for the discussion, always great to exchange plant knowledge!
@@terramatergardens hehe ;) Hello TMG, just testin you! You're right! While your plant certainly looks similar to a young mint plant, especially one shot of it and because of the water reflections on it. But the the elongated and rather straight thin stems (compared to mint) give it away.
Awesome insights! I may grow some of these now 👊🏻🌶👊🏻
Please do!
These are not Ryukin!
What makes you say that?
The Phyllovates genus no longer exists & was moved to the genus Pseudovates. The species is Pseudovates chlorophaea
Thank you for pointing that out! You're absolutely correct-the Phyllovates genus was reclassified, and the Texas Unicorn Mantis is now Pseudovates chlorophaea. I appreciate you bringing this to my attention, and I’ll make a note to update the video description. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and for watching! 🌿🦗
Cheers bro
thank you
Do you hold it?
t's generally not recommended to handle them directly. They can bite if they feel threatened, and their bite can be painful.
That’s so cool ❤
glad you like!
Great!
Very nice h ji 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Thanks 🤗
QUESTION: is it true that the flower of the bat plant has the aroma of rotten meat???🤔🤔🤔 IT'S JUST THAT IN ANOTHER VIDEO OF SOMEONE WHO HAS A NURSERY, HE SAYS THAT THE FLOWER HAS THE AROMA OF ROTTEN MEAT AND WELL I DON'T KNOW,..... THAT'S WHY I'M ASKING
The smell can vary depending on the individual plant and environmental conditions. While some people describe the scent as unpleasant, resembling rotting meat, others find it more subtle and even slightly sweet. The intensity of the smell can also vary depending on factors like temperature and humidity. It's best to experience the scent on your own in my opinion.
How can i make these pepper hotter
Stressful Environments: Some growers believe that subjecting plants to mild stress, like water or nutrient deprivation, can increase the capsaicin levels and make the peppers hotter.
I recently purchased an order of 15 "large brown egg layer chicks" that ultimately included a BO rooster. I'd love to have a rooster that is quiet and works well with the remainder of the flock. Here's to hoping.
Oh, that's quite a surprise! While Buff Orpingtons are generally docile and good with other birds, individual personalities can vary. I hope is quiet and works well for you too!
The world has changed. The privit bush gives food to so many Considered an invasive. But what are we ? Save the bees, butterflies, cederwaxwings, and others. Stupid people😊
That's a great point! While privet bushes can provide food for some wildlife, they are considered invasive in many areas. They can outcompete native plants and disrupt local ecosystems. It's important to choose native plants that support local wildlife and contribute to a healthy environment. By planting native species, we can help restore natural habitats and provide valuable resources for pollinators and other beneficial organisms. Thank you for bringing up this important issue.
Maybe one this year 😢
How do you collect seeds from this plant?
Wait for the flowers to fade: Once the beautiful blue flowers have withered, small, round seed capsules will begin to form. Harvest the seed capsules: When the capsules turn brown and dry, they are ready to be harvested. Carefully snip them off the plant. Extract the seeds: Gently open the seed capsules to reveal the tiny black seeds inside.
Do i have to have more than 1 to grow in a pot? I happen to have ocean Forrest fox farm soil is this good?
You can definitely grow a single dwarf Cavendish banana plant in a pot. One plant will be happy in a pot, especially if you repot it as it grows. Ocean Forest Fox Farm soil is a good choice for your dwarf Cavendish banana. It's a well-draining potting mix that provides good aeration and drainage. Just make sure the pot has drainage holes to prevent waterlogging.
Loved this and love this plant! Thanks 🥰
So nice of you
I appreciate the sharing of beneficial information. Excellent Video
Glad it was helpful!
Your voice and the music are a great combo. The font color isn’t a great choice as at moments it’s hard to read but if you did a long version with more visual representation, perhaps some ancient drawings or something of that nature, I would actually be excited to watch that and subscribe. Lots of potential here I think brother. Really good video whether my advice weighs anything with you or not. Thank you for that.
Thank you so much for your kind words and constructive feedback! I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. I'll definitely take your suggestions into consideration for future videos. I'm always looking for ways to improve my content and make it more engaging. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and I hope to see you again soon!

Is there a difference between alocasia Red Secret and alocasia cuprea
Alocasia Red Secret tends to have larger, more rounded leaves with prominent veins. Alocasia cuprea often has smaller, more elongated leaves with metallic sheen. Alocasia Red Secret is known for its deep red undersides and prominent veins, while Alocasia cuprea is often characterized by its metallic copper or bronze-colored leaves. However, it's worth noting that there can be variations within these species, and some cultivars may exhibit similar characteristics.
@terramatergardens great explanation. Thank you very much 🫡
We got ours at Costco! I couldn’t believe that they had it. Thank you for this video as there is not much good info about Ficus umbellata

haha, thanks for bringing that to our attention! You are absolutely right!
Would they rather be bottom watered?
While bottom watering can be a beneficial watering technique for some plants, it's not strictly necessary for Tradescantia 'Feeling Flirty'
