Thanks for watching and for your interest in my work. This painting is still available. "Spring Collection" measures 32" x 32" and is $2300 USD. I can ship it off the stretcher bars, rolled in a tube, which is much less costly in shipping costs. You would then have to have it stretched at your end. If this is out of your budget, I do have prints available at: https:www.karenhalepaintings.com
What an utterly delightful painting, you keep mixing it up and keep us guessing but always a lovely destination. Bright, cheery and happy creation just what is needed in the winter. Thank you for posting, have a wonderful week.
May i ask, how are you keeping the layers from sticking to your brush and peeling up, please, and also may I ask what brand paint you use or recommend?
Is their anywhere that could find a way to at least learn the basic concepts of this type of painting? I just love it but have no idea where to start and the layers are amazing!
These demo videos are what I have time to do. You can slow the video down by adjusting the speed. At the bottom right of the video there is a cog that will allow you to do that. That may help.
That's the million dollar question. I think it has to do with experience and confidence. At the end of the day, I position the easel so I can see it first thing the next morning. A fresh eye helps me decide what to do next--or nothing.
@@karenhalepaintings Thanks so much for taking the time to answer my question. Appreciate it and your sharing of your gorgeous art. You're an inspiration Karen. Thanks x
I can only surmise from your incredibly intuitive style of painting (the way you use that scraper!), that it has developed over many years. As a realistic watercolorist of many years I’ve recently started working in acrylic abstraction. Realistic painting just stopped feeding my soul. This painting fills my heart with joy and is such a perfect example of why I’ve started painting intuitively. Thanks so very much for sharing! ❤
Absolutely beautiful Karen!😍 I love your Technique and style, and the vibrant colors you use!🌺 May I ask what kind of canvas you used for this painting? Is it a regular stretch canvas?
I love watching you create your beautiful artworks. How often do you let the paint dry between layers? I’ve been trying to work it out but I really can’t tell (unless you’re wearing a different top!)
I think the drying intervals are a learned exercise. Sometimes I put one color on it then set it aside and other times I work on it for half an hour or so. Up to you.
I love this painting! I wish you had more tutorial info. Since you changed clothes 3 times I’m guessing you let it dried three times. Other than that it’s just too fast for me to realize the steps you take. I love it though!🌸
Thank for watching and for your comment, Nancy. My videos are a glimpse into my process and not meant to be a tutorial. This is a side line that I squeeze in between creating my work and marketing. There are more drying times than my shirt colors indicate. My art has has been my livelihood for over 50 years and there is just so much time for free stuff. You can adjust the speed by going to the settings in the lower right hand corner of the video.
Been watching your videos and I love your work so much. Seriously you’re my nee favorite artist. You are so inspiring. I read some of your techniques on your website on your pallet and the array of colors you keep on it. I originally found you a few months ago and was finishing up some paintings at that time. Last week I started a large atmospheric landscape after watching one of your videos for inspiration. Just curious, do you listen to any certain music while you work? I feel like it loosens me up to get into some music. Honestly, sometimes I even listen to a program while I paint just to occupy part of my brain and help me from getting too tight or obsessed on one part of the canvas. Anyway, just wondering if you listen to anything specific for creative assistance.
Hi, Sorry I missed this comment until now. I do listen to music. A variety but mainly the Chris Botti station on pandora. If I really want to loosen up I listen to salsa. Listening to the music helps drive the painting, don't overthink it.
Karen , I've always been a realist style painter, but I'm being drawn to a loser style of painting and when I discovered your style of painting with all the beautiful colors, and am in awe ! I love your art works ! Thanks so much for your inspiration.
So fun to watch the evolution of this painting. I use many of the same tools you do here - and now I can see other ways of using them! Thanks for sharing Karen💜
WONDERFUL!
ITS LOOK LIKE MAGIC!!!!!
difficult for beginners
Thanks, Barbara.
Absolutely melts my heart but I don’t think this is something that could ever be learned! This just has to come from inside!
I paint intuitively and spontaneously and have no idea how to teach that. Many people tell me they find my videos helpful, I hope you can too.
Got that acrylic drip swag going on 🎉. Wonderful painting ❤❤❤
What a glorious painting, Karen! Thank you so much!
Thank you very much.
"When you don't like where it's going, reinvent." Absolutely love it!
You beat me to it! 👍
Bonjour Karen. Je suis sous le charme, cette toile m'envoute, j'aime beaucoup votre travail.
Cette toile est elle à vendre ?
Merci.

I've never had that be an issue. In the "show More" section, below the description, is a list of the supplies that I like to use.
Вы волшебница!

Im a huge fan! So you already know I love it - its so beautiful
Very sweet of you to say. thank you.
The painting is lovely. The background music is intolerable. I’m sorry. I had to mute it.
I was on the edge of my seat. You got there in the end and so beautifully.
So much emotion I feel. Absolutely gorgeous!
Thanks, Rickie.
Hi? If I may ask, what tool did you use? The red one?
It's a shaper/bowl scraper. Check the "more" section in one of my latest videos to get a link.
Totally amazing !!🙏🏼
You change the canvas several times that was amazing !!!👌🏼👍🏼👌🏼👍🏼
I like the paint to flow in different directions.
So talented, beautiful. Love it

Gorgeous work Karen. I have one question: how do you know when to put the brushes down?

My husband makes my canvases. We use 12 oz triple primed canvas on heavy stretcher bars.
