I really love the loose free painting style Jane , sometimes I paint like the tutorial because I want to see and feel what your thinking or why you did certain colours in a way to get the free look your trying to get in a painting , it also helps me see where I can go on my own when I try a painting a subject etc , have to say my inner child comes out and it looks it to lol. I’m always excited to watch your paintings , your colours you choose blows my mind they look lovely bright and happy . 🙏
Thanks, Jane --- love the LOOSE style, very inspiring!! And also very much enjoyed seeing ALL THOSE COLORS!! They make me feel HAPPY!! Best wishes...see you on the next video!
Jane, I’m obsessed with watching your videos. Your loose style is so enviable. I just tried doing a house but of course immediately got hung up on how to make the house look like it had shake siding. An illusion you’d probably say but I don’t know how to get that illusion. I also realize that I’m so hung up on using the colors that I see in the photo instead of what might make the painting more painterly. Would love to see you tackle a house/cottage with shakes. I wish you’d come to Savannah for a workshop! Thanks for your great videos.
My fave artist extraordinaire ! Thank you ! If I could paint a fraction as good as you, I probably wouldn't ever want to leave the easel ! Haha. I want to visit too. I am in fort Myers
I was feeling out of sorts and at that moment your channel pop up immediately my sadness disappeared in its place I wondered about your colour palette and started getting involved with your painting process 🎉 thank you for sharing this beautiful video!
You are so welcome! Here is a link to my website where I share a list of paints that are often in my palette. I am adding light blue violet and raw sienna that should be added to the list. janeslivkagallery.com/shop
Thank you! Standard canvases come basically in two sizes: thin and thick. The thicker one is approximately 2.5 inches. I tend to use the thicker canvas. If you want to frame the painting, use the thinner canvas.
Love your painting style! Are you cleaning your brush each time you change colors or are you leaving colors in to mix on the brush? I think the person asking to see the tweeks, is not to copy but the little ones can make all the difference and we want to learn. Thank you for all your time! Gorgeous
I like your style of painting. For me, I will strive to be much more loose like you are but still lean towards a little more in the middle of the guardrails.
I love the painting. I’m wondering if you are using an open medium to keep it so wet and loose or a lot of water? I am hesitant with acrylics because they drive so quickly, but you’re a saint we really juicy for a long period of time.
I am so used to painting with acrylics.and am not that aware of a huge value change. I do know the paint absorbs as it dries and changes, but I just to to go with it.
Yes when I try to go for a neutral color, I use a combination of warm and cool colors. For example, my favorite gray is a combination of warm siennas and cool blues.
@@freedomofacrylicswithartis5133 Thank you! I've been a computer artist for over 30 years and trying to paint for 6. My struggle now is the color mixing. Watching you paint quickly and without overthinking is encouraging!
I like to use a Masterson Sta-Wet Palette that comes with a sealed cover. Throughout the day, I mist/spray my palette with water. At night when I leave my studio, I give the palette a good misting, seal it with a cover and place in the refrigerator overnight.
Merci beaucoup pour votre partage. Magnifique !
Cordialement
@@freedomofacrylicswithartis5133 one more question. Are u painting so often that all that left over paint isn’t an issue, and or how long does the paint stay workable in that palate? Thx!

If you’re that concerned about the brushes you’re probably hopeless anyway haha jk but seriously just listen to her when she says, it’s not that big of a deal just paint and enjoy the process??
@@Ilovegemsomuch Maybe I would like to know, and possibly others more serious and just starting to learn. I have watched and listened to others who do it also, for their subscribers, and possibly future patron.

Pourquoi trouvez-vous horrible ? Pour que les critiques soient intéressantes et constructives il faut donner une explication. Quel est votre niveau en peinture ? Bon week-end

Thank you. Have fun and embrace the painting process. Go off the rails a few times and see what happens.
🥰
I love your style. Maybe I missed it, but with which color did you primed your canvas?
I use a student grade cadmium orange light or cadmium red light. But anything that gives the canvas an orange, red or orange and red combined works.
My new favorite saying. It's not that big of a deal!!!!!!
Yup. it is just a painting.
Thanks very much.

Can I know more about the Akron artists and St. Michaels? Is it an Akron painters group (I’m from Akron) and where is St. Michaels?
St. Michael's is located in Maryland. The Akron artists was a group of friends that I met an an art league in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
I want to learn to paint loose
Best thing to do is just keep practicing and having fun with the process.
Just do drugs 😂
Is that a stay wet palatte? Slots of paint in it
Yes it is a Masterson Sta-Wet palette.

Why don’t you put the size of panel, colors, brush or other equipment for the painting, so we don’t have to keep rewinding the video? Please
