6 Male Lions taking down a Buffalo

The Mluwati Male and five of his sons caught this Buffalo at Kumana Dam south of Satara Rest Camp, Kruger National Park.

the terrain there is inhospitable to buffaloes, there are other lions capturing another, you can hear the distant cry.

I was wondering if the dark maned one was the father of the younger ones. Good thing he stuck with them if he was a loner. His chances of ruling just improved by 5 times. They look like a formidable coalition with the young males coming of age and extremely confident with their grown father at the helm.

Is this recent . Cos it seems they catch a buffalo every two days .
