Sweni Lion Pride successfully raises 9 cubs

The Sweni Lion pride is different to the other prides in the vicinity of the Satara Rest camp in the Kruger National Park. Due to the abundance of prey and water they thrive. In 2020 nine cubs were born into the pride. In general approximately only 60% of lion cubs survive to one year. However, due to the care and protection offered by the female Lions of the pride and the constant attendance of at least one of the three pride male Lions, all of the cubs have survived and are now beautiful sub-adults.

What is amazing is that RRM as solo king with the Nharu's also was able to raise their 9 cubs to subadults. Sweni pride has 3 coalition male protectors.

Fabulous video. What a beautiful lion pride. I like how some of them nuzzle each other and interact with such love. They look so docile, but I wouldn't get out of any of the vehicles - LOL. Thank you for posting. ❤😊

Wow they grew into beautiful lions and lionesses. I hope they continue to have more cubs that grow just as beautiful and as healthy as this group that made it to adulthood ❤❤. The lion population needs to protected at all cost. I dont want to ever imagine a world without these majestic Kings and Queens.

very informative video. I snuck a copy of it onto a thumb drive and sent over to the water buffalo herd LOL Do you suppose the presence of 3 males for only 5 females is part of that chore of bringing down buffalo or is it more for protection from other males/prides?
