Hello! I have been following your travels since Poland and love to see all the places you’ve been to. So excited that you are in Vienna. I am here now too. If you are still in Vienna tonight try to get tickets to the Long Night of the Museums. It’s a once a year event where you can go to tons of museums throughout the city. The whole city is out and about and it’s very festive. Enjoy! Vienna is gorgeous and so easy to get around!
Hey! I am Viennese, and I am so glad you guys enjoyed Vienna! Regarding your dining at Naschmarkt (the Market), you unfortunately didn't get the original Wiener schnitzel. Personally, I'd recommend the one with Kalb or with Schwein. At Naschmarkt, it's a Turkish place with many Turkish specialities not really in affiliation with Austria, so you wont get the best Schnitzel there. We take the Schnitzel very seriously haha. IIt tastes the best if it's plain with some cranberries and some potatoes. The Prater pronounced PRATA is like the Disney world of Vienna, with tons of rides! They just made it so you pay per ride like on the carnival rides which is super nice. For some good food-spots, Meisln & Schaden or Hotel Sacher has a really good Schnitzel. Prater isn't too busy, mostly on weekends during peak time (3 PM). There are some rides at Prater which aren't the best, but one of the best ones are the Gesenkte Sau. And yeah food and drink prices are high in amusement parks haha. If you have ANY QUESTIONS regarding Vienna, please let me know! Great video, new sub.
Thank you for sharing guys. Always lice your videos. We did a trip through Austria in February. We did the theme park in the middle of the day and it was empty. Dont know how they survive. We also went to Schonbrun Palace which was gorgeous. Loved our ride on the horse and carriage. Not cheap but a great wsy to see things. I just loved Vienna. Beautiful City. Then we went to Linz for the purpose of our trip, to take my hubbys Oma ashes home. Was not a fan of Linz. Statement about being unfriendly, maybe they got confused with Linz. Lol Then down to Salzburg and Innsbruck. Both we loved. My hubby had seen this country a number of times before, as he would go from Australia with his Mum as a child from Australia and also as an adult to visit his Oma. What was funny was i discovered after 18 years of marriage that my hubby could speak German. Had no idea I know he speaks fluent Dutch as his Dad was Dutch and thats what they spoke at home. We had a great time. Back to Greece and Turkey next year. Cant wait. Safe and happy travels to you both. Caz
That is convenient that it runs all night. I remember Rome shut down at like 11 and paris also had a cuttoff time. Vienna is on our list for someday. Those stairs remind me of the Wallace monument in sterling. Great views from the top. What beautiful city. I would love to see a show there. Love classical. You guys are living the dream. That’s one of my favorite things to walk a city all day and then have a cold beer and a nice dinner. 👍🏼
The metro only runs all night on weekends (fri/sat & sat/sun) and in the nights before holidays. Other lines (bus & tram) shut down over the night (from about midnight till 5am). There is a night bus service on selected routes though.
I thank my parents for moving to austria back in 2004, i was born there and have to say my childhood was so beautiful, all the memories i made in that city are jusy priceless. Vienna is truly such a nice place but its worse now compared tp 2005 because of the immigrants
"Schnitzel" is just "the name of the cut of the raw meat" and says nothing about the preparation. I´ll break it down for you. "Schnitt" means literally "cut" "Schnitte" means literally "slice" = is basically a "cutlet" "Schnitzel" means "very thin slice" = is basically a "very thin cutlet" not more and not less. The cutlet you got is named "Hühnerschnitzel Wiener Art" which means literally "chicken cutlet in Viennese style" while when it is "veal" the name is "Wiener Schnitzel" = "Viennese cutlet"..because the breadcoat is "the Viennese style" to prepare a cutlet...and only the veal version is allowed to be named "Viennese" while all other meats with breadcoat has to be named "in Viennese style/Wiener Art" By the way the Ketchup was for the fries and was not for the Schnitzel. There was also a lemon wedge on the plate and that´s supposed to be for the Schnitzel = for squeezing the juice on the breadcoat which is a very nice and refreshing taste combo, alternatively (but not for chicken but for veal or pork) there also can be additionally a dip with lingonberry jam/sauce (in German ="Preiselbeeren") as well for the Schnitzel.(disclaimer: those are not cranberries which I often see written, that´s the wrong translation for "Preiselbeeren" although those are biological related with cranberries (= same berry familiy) but the colour of lingonberries is a darker red and the size is a bit smaller and the taste is totally different and more on the sweeter side) To be honest with you eating Ketchup with Schnitzel is here in Vienna an incredible sacrilege and therefore seen as utterly barbaric and cultureless. And we Viennese are not shy to call out anybody who does that in front of us because we then feel extremely insulted when our beloved Schnitzel is treated with Ketchup or with any similar condiment or when it got drowned in any kind of gravy. No offence and I´m not judging you, how could you know, but now you do. And travelling is about learning about different cultures so I have to inform you instead of keeping you in the dark especially because you are a very nice and friendly couple.
Vienna has like 24 districts (bezirke) each of them are different from each other theres so much to explore, so many parks so many opportunities to make friends etc...
12:18 Not quite right. The royal family (or at least the descendants of the family) still exits. One of them - Ferdinand of Habsburg - is a famous Automobile racer! Greetings from Austria :)
I am agnostic, but for some reason, i apreciate, that he took the hat off befor entering the church.

Also: when they serve it with ketchup you can be sure it's the "tourist version".

Each to their own but for me, it was my least favourite City that I visited. Classical music lovers would love it and the history.

Hate to be that guy but you are fully aware of the typo in your video title?
Or even the typo in your comment
@nanplabwern typo? Where?
@@sykophunk You asked a question so it should be 'are you' not 'you are'.
@@nanplabwern aah. I get ya. I was looking for the letters in the wrong places.
Hello I am from India. I want a foreign friend
Hello 👋
Vienna has like 24 districts (bezirke) each of them are different from each other theres so much to explore, so many parks so many opportunities to make friends etc...
We are modest....we have only 23 districts!😁
Thanks so much for the info ❤️❤️
A chicken Schnitzel (this makes me sad) :-(
and ketchup.... 😞
