- With a shutdown of the Bendigo line about to start for trackwork and other maintenance the following day, Tuesday the 20th of February 2024 saw SSR run P18 and P17 up from Tottenham Yard to collect a couple of locos and a power van from Bendigo to return them to Melbourne while they could.
We start with the P's rolling through Golden Square as 0083 before taking a trip out to the workshops for some shunt moves involving yard goat P11, recent arrivals T388, T399, T402 and Y119 as well as P16 and T381, though probably the most interesting part is the appearance in the yard of derailment damaged CLF1 and 4910 from the Rockview smash nearly a year ago, these two having spent nearly all of the intervening time inside the main building out of view.
After all of the shuffling, eventually T381, P16 and XR550 are seen leaving the workshops and then pulling into Bendigo Yard where P17 and P18 are waiting with a BVDY power van, promptly attaching behind the XR to form 9086 to Tottenham Yard which is then seen at Golden Square and finally in a hurried shot at Kangaroo Flat.
Trains seen in order are:
0083- P18 and P17
0086- T381, P16 and XR550
9086- T381, P16, XR550, P17 and P18

Good work Brad, lot of shunts taking place, poor CLF1 will not run again. Hope they paint the Manildra Group loco's with the "Gem Of The West" livery and logo. 48162 & 48215 were at Tullamore this morning collecting all the VHAF's that were stored there, taking them to Parkes.
No Loss. Another shitbox MK Loco to be scrapped!!!
@bigman4225 why so hostile?
@@DaleDix Because I put up with those heaps of shit as a driver! Scrap it I say!
Definitely can't see the old CLF getting back out. Good chance on the Manildra T's getting a coat of the blue/yellow livery, should look good on them.
Hope they send those VHAF's down here, still a crapload of grain to move.
Wonderful video
Thanks for the visit
Great video mate. IIRC Y119 was operational, wonder if or when it will get moved to VGR as that's where i have heard it's meant to be going. It will be good to see the T classes overhauled and back in service again and the same with the H classes, even though it's a little annoying they won't be in or coming to victoria after they are working again. Luckily there's plenty of other T's to fill the gap.
Was used as SRHC shunter for a while but I don't think it was used for the last couple of years there.
From what I've heard it won't be going to the VGR though.
Ahhh ok, interesting, i wonder where it is off to then@@Greensleeves94
The former Golden Square station receiving an upgrade of sorts?
Just a good spot for videoing.
Nah, been like this ever since the RFR works in 2005.
It needs 4 locos to take an XR back to Melbourne why??????
Loco balancing???
T381 and P16 were also being worked back, they'd been up here since the Manildra T's were dragged up.
Are those H classes still up at Bendigo or gone?
H1 and H3 are out at the workshops (H3 looks to be getting prepped for painting with the windows removed) and H2 and H5 are in the Bendigo Roundhouse.
