@@Ravenousjoe It really is a pain to service the landing gear on the C-5. Used to have to help the crew chiefs do them from time to time. I will say this though, that is one plane i would go back to work on in a heartbeat. Each tail number had its own personality.

@@caseymetzger1473 I can only assume. I see the same thing even on smaller aircraft, but these behemoths have always astounded me. It was great to watch the An-124 get loaded with 3 helicopters and a bunch of seacans right up close. Took longer to refuel than it did to load. I imagine at smaller airports the C-5 takes quite some time to refuel as well.

The sound of that E-8C as it passed over brought a chill to my spine and revived many vivid memories from my childhood. We lived under a flight path growing up in the 70's & 80's and would frequently have DC-8's & 707's roar over our neighbourhood on their takeoff climb-out at a couple of thousand feet.
The beautiful combination of that roaring buzz-saw growl on approach followed by the deafening compressor scream of the four thundering JT3D's as the aircraft passed directly overhead billowing a trail of black smoke behind it as the house window panes rattled in their frames is an experience like no other, and one I sorely miss to this day!

    * * * * *
Again, my German friend, you have provided me a most wonderful show. I thank-you so very much for the superb work you did on this video. Although I spent a career in the US Army, I had never viewed these wonderful aircraft from the angle you captured them. You most definitely had great lighting for this video.
Since I retired from the Army 25 years ago, I am surprised at the updated variants of the aircraft you captured. They most certainly have had many modifications since then. I was surprised that the paratroopers who jumped out of the C-130 did not use both doors. I stopped counting my military parachute jumps when I reached 200, but every one of them out of a C-130 had us exiting out of both doors.
The most striking difference I saw was between the C-5A when I was on active duty and the C-5M, Super Galaxy. The improved engines are so much quieter than the original ones, which were so loud that I could hear them takeoff from 16 km (10 miles) away.
I cannot decide which aircraft I enjoyed viewing the most, since all of those which you videoed were excellently done. Please keep up the excellent work, and as always, I am looking forward to your next video. I also hope you enjoy my attempt to write in German. I can always quit if I am not writing well, and my German is distracting.

Thank you so much my friend! You had such a great career and your German is also very good! Luckily we have the 37th Airlift Squadron which is based here at Ramstein and the C-130J's are doing exercises regulary. As you already said the USAF did a lot of updates recently like replacing the old C-5A/B TF33 engines to the newer F138 engines and new C-130' versions. Glad to hear that you heard the older versions of the Galaxies. The C-5A/B Sound was just amazing, that noice while departure or arrival was just awesome, sadly I never heard them in real life.

Yeah the P&W JT3D´s engines did such a beautiful and loud sound! Thank you very much!
Edit: No problem! I meant JT3D too and edited it here too.

Outstanding video! I was stationed at Kleber Kaserne in Kaiserslautern in '74 to '77.Was always fascinated how something as large as a C5A could go so slow and stay airborne as we were right under the final approach to Ramstein.Used to shoot skeet at their Rod and Gun Club out by the runways. Thanks for bringing back the memories.

Currently living at Yokota Air Base, Atlas Air actually used to do passenger rotators as well, but then retired them I think in early 2019. Now only Omni operates daily flights in and out of the base. That Kallita Air 747 also has occasional flights at Yokota as well.

Thank you very much mate for the information and support! Sadly only some Atlas Air 747 passenger versions left. Omni Air also operates a lot to and from Ramstein AB too but sadly not daily.

FRAproductions - A 747 Atlas passenger version actually came in today, though I wasn’t sure if it’s true model was for just cargo, you get what I’m saying. And then right next to it was a cargo 747 Atlas.

It is a good to see that Airbase Ramstein is now used to save the refugees from Afghanistan. This is a very humanitarian mission under dangerous conditions! Go ahead and save as much as you can! May all soldiers who serve in this mission be blessed! They're all doing their utmost best they can.

Easiest sub ever !! The quality of your footage is astounding, and your framing is perfect on these tricky moving objects holding our interest right the way through. Birdsong in the background another lovely treat for us. I also like the Info you provide us on each plane and its journey time. This is the complete package on how such a video should be made. Bravo Sir !!

Very nice. Nice to see once other aircrafts, it's getting quite a bit boring, to see every time the same 787's and 330's. Would like to see more of Ramstein!

I flew on a C5 filled with 2 CH53 helos(I think it was 2. Could have been 3. Was 2003) from Miramar (Old Top Gun) to KCIA Kuwait with a stop in Dover then Italy. Was great except we had no windows and the passanger seating, which is up top, faced backwards. We didnt notice the seating facing aft so when we started rolling we didnt pay much attention. Then the pilots went max power while holding brakes to build up power. When he let go of the brakes instead of being pushed back into the seats(not as strong as a normal passanger jet but enough to feel it) we can feel being pushed out of the seat and we were like damn this thing can go in reverse this fast. Huge plane. Its amazing that we have the ability to put this much weight into the air.
Then flew combat seating(cargo net seating. Fold down urinal) in a C17 on the way home a year later. Stopped in Germany. We did a refuelling over the atlantic then flew straight to Miramar. The refueling was the scariest moment of the whole deployment. Everyone onboard except aircrew/pilots crapped themselves.
