I have a 1926 Chrysler 70 Royal sedan, all original as well with 22,000 miles on it. Same color and condition. Really great to see another survivor car, thanks for posting this!!!
Thank you for Commenting… Great… maybe have ; “ My Car Story”, HAGERTY, Lincoln55, or some CAR GUYS (*etc !! ), ! Record * share……..
It's honestly insane how clean that Chrysler still is
I know, beautiful car... time capsule
Great stories and history
But for the one guy to say he would drop the price on the mg just to help get a young enthusiast into the restoration hobby , hats off to him.
A lot more people should take a leaf out of his book
Thanks Robert. My main goal was to preserve the MGs from being hot-rodded. They were just too nice and somewhere out there is a young person who will have a great project car to work on. Right now, half of the MGSA is dirt free, preservation class, the other side is barn find dirty, the way Tom loves them!…:}
@@mgsa2333 Right! I'm not really a car enthusiast, so I appreciate it only by the looks of it and not of its engines and such but those kind of cars are my dream car. When I first saw a picture of those long nose car with those fenders, i fell in love with it. I really want to own one though it's far from reality hahaha. Cheers to you kind sir, hope your cars will be in good hands in the future.
Tom Cotter, the Man. Bringin' us the best stuff.
Tom, as always…thank you. It was so very nice to meet Melvin and that wonderful Chrysler. What an absolute gem. And the story, you are 100% correct the story makes the car. Melvin is my kind of gentleman. What our nation is all about. Decent hard working good folk. Thank you Sir, for preserving this fine automobile.
WOW ! What providence that Tom & Melvin would meet up, and to share the story of the owners and history of the car. Thank You Tom and Thank You Melvin !
Wow an authentic oldie in original shape untouched original interior untouched but actually enjoyed good old American manufacturing
So happy that gentlemen like these exist in this world.
Nice car Melvin. Chrysler was ahead of its time in those days.
That E Type at the beginning is a jewel.
Cheers Tom 🇨🇦
I'm so happy that these cars are in their right homes. Homes that appreciate and respect what they are. Best wishes for continued success in 2023!
One old car guy almost cries of Joy by theese stories and cars! Original is only one time, so wonderfull to see
Tom and I would get along just fine, because he knows the value of the stories behind the cars too....
and what stories we got in this episode!
Wonderful, wonderful stuff. Thanks as always Tom and Hagerty!

I'm not much of a talker so I love sitting with old guys. They have a million stories to tell.
Two great stories
Half of enjoying a car is enjoying the story each car has to tell. 👍👍👍
Thank you Sir for showing us the past. History is always amazing when you're talking old cars. Take care and can't wait until the next show.
I love Barn Find Hunter. Great addition.
Great stories. Another great video. Happy New Year Tom and all those reading this. Happy hunting!
Well I am 21 years old and still working on my Saab 96 barnfind it didnt drive for 25 years till i got it (first car). it drives now as you can see on my channel. id love to dive deeper in the old car world. i am sad to se very little young people into old cars so I want to make good video's about my car to inspire other people! great video!
Mr. Jacobsons’ black jaguar 😃 what a beauty. I’ll have to start hanging around car dealerships. What a cool story, and at 21 years old!
Gabriel, how does one keep a bunch of old classic vehicles like a Jag from age 21? My method was not getting married until I was 45….:}
@@mgsa2333 great collection of classics. That jaguar seems like the crowning piece. I’m looking for an Austin Healey 3000, those jaguars are a bit out of my range. I have my own small collection that I love to drive and I know I’ll keep forever also. Thank you for showing us your collection.
@@gabrielsandoval4994 The XKE is fun to drive and fits the bill for the urge to drive on a nice summer day, but the crowning piece for rarity and 'over-the-top' class in the collection is the 1934 Packard Twelve roadster, 41st one built out of 50, one of 20 left. Been working on it for decades, ground up….so the wire wheels are now done, it is a rolling pile of parts at the moment…:}
@@mgsa2333 A 34 Packard, awesome! Those were top tier cars back in the day. I’m sure you will finish it off right. It’s good to know you enjoy your cars. Cheers.
That Chrysler was insane! Wow!
1927 Chrysler one of Your Best Barn Find Stories, Thanks.
This is why I love this show. Thank you Matt C.
What awesome stories. I have fond memories of Greenfield Village...I grew up to a single mom, and she had a couple take care of me, the man (Austin...forgot his last name) worked at Greenfield. Loved that place!
Never been a fan of MG's but I like the guy's stories and enthusiasm.
That's awesome wants to see it with someone who can love it for a long time
Very nice material
That’s an amazing find and story with the Chrysler. It’s great it’s not just parked in a museum-style collection yet. One wonders what happens to it when this gentleman can no longer care for it?
Man what a collection
Oh be still my heart-that Jaguar ❤️ and all those MG’s-A dream
The "barn find" portion of the story of the Chrysler 60 was sort of brushed over. The second owner, Bill Reynolds used to go past the first owner's house. One day, the garage door was open and he saw Mr. Shank polishing the car, which rarely ever left the garage. Mr. Reynolds struck up a conversation with Mr. Shank and eventually purchased the car from him. I'm a friend of Mr. Reynolds and Melvin's and saw Tom at Greenfield Village. I introduced Melvin and Tom to each other and I'm glad an episode of Barn Find Hunter came out of their meeting. I'm very glad the incredible story of this car has now been shared with a much larger audience! Thank you Tom, Melvin, and all the past owners of the Chrysler for their preservation of the car and its amazing story!
*Best Automotive show on TH-cam*
That Chrysler is Beautiful. 🤤🥰👍
The MGs are great. The Chrysler purrs like a sewing machine. Wow!
Thank You for sharing these wonderful Finds and Stories with us Tom!!!
Hagerty needs to put the Barn Find Hunter logo back in the thumbnail.
What a great Chrysler. Love all those MG's too. Well done Tom.
I absolutely love this episode. But I always love every episode! I love how this guy drives his collection. His cars just don’t sit in a barn. He actually uses them. My God, I would love to own that jaguar! If I could have any car, it would be a series 1E type jaguar.
Once in a while we are in the right place at the right time. 😁
Been there quite a few times , problem is realizing it!
I'm a 70s Camaro guy, but I really appreciate his original Jag. That's as good as they get.
Wow, kool story, & wonderful car... Thanx !
This is soo satisfaying to watch ❤
episode shoulda been longer .. could listen to either of these blokes for hours .. great stories 👍👍
Gotta love that Jag.
WOW! This guy is awesome!
Good day, Your cars are fantastic!!!
Old fellas quite a story teller👍
The story's along with the cars are just breath taking to see and hear about my grandfather and Dad built a 30s Chevy 4 door hot rod and has a amazing story along with it
stories, not story's. The first is the plural of story, the second is the possessive of story. Blame your government school teachers for your ignorance.
@@3ducs Criticism is best handled by the 'hamburger' method. Positive bun, neg. is meat, positive bun. Ex. Nice use of the word story. However, wrong plural use, the word 'stories' works . Positive, negative, positive. Nice XKE, wrong color?, here's a red one…..and a buyer for the black one…..:}
That Chrysler is gorgeous
Awesome original
Great episode!
The old mg is so cool, I am a younger that would be a great project to get back on the road
When you think of all that’s happened in the world during that cars life it’s amazing. Really cool to see survivors like this. 😎
I am Australian and when i was at high school in 1972 my Chemistry teacher had a TC but our Woodwork teacher the the extremely rare TB. We spent a lot of time discussing restoring the TC during Chem classes.
HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY EVERYONE ✌️
Man I love that Chrysler!
Please come to Connecticut!!! I know of a great place with hudsons and amcs
Great episode Tom. Of course all of your episodes are great episodes for us car lovers. Thanks for presenting them to us.
👍👍 great fun
Man I wish I had the cash for that MG! I’d absolutely love it
Awesome video
I would have loved a full 30min episode in the first garage. I bet that guy had a ton of stories to tell.
I would also have loved to learn the trade from a guy like him
These cars are amazing!
Lee!! Like I’ve told you many times…”Next time…buy an Austin!”
Great to see you here. I’ll see you at Greenfield or no doubt British Invasion.
I can't figure out what it is specifically, but I think I'm in love with that Chrysler?
Every time I see that Pacer, it takes me back to the early 80s. 😒 as a kid, I had no words for that embarrassment
That Chrysler and story makes this the best episode, yet, even if it technically isn't a "Barn Find"
❤ dis old ride
Right place at right time with the first one.
Both segments were just fantastic.
Tom I know this hard work I love it please keep it coming
thank you.
I was tearing up during the story of the Chrysler
Just wow! I love that Chrysler!! Jag is nice too
That was Doubly Awesome! 😉 Oh to be young! Melvin was a Gem in his own right! Excellent video! Thanks!
Damn that's a beautiful vehicle
These cars are in the right places, and I'm really glad about that. homes that recognize and value their uniqueness.
Hi Melvin, love your story and the picture of the 3 of 4 owners.
That’s actually a great price for a young kid who wants to get into classics excellent barn find
Would love to meet lee currently I have a 72 mg midget that saloon would definitely be up my alley!
Very interesting cars and stories!
Just fantastic : nice people, beautiful locations ! I love that farm !
GREAT that yooou are driving a AMC Pacer .-)
There all clean but that E type 💯
Love the car community at The Old Car Festival!
Great story…I love stuff like this.
I have a 1928 Buick with a better interior than the Chrysler and it is mainly original too. It took me 15 years to buy it from the previous owner. It runs well too.
And an AMC Pacer Estate!
What a beautiful car
god bless. 2023. mick Australia )
If this guy would have been around when I was in college, the MG SA would have been mine. I had two MGBs back then my daily driver I had bought in boxes. The previous owner spliced two cars together. One car was a 73, and the other was a '67. It was title as a '67. The had prepped it for paint, but couldn't get it to run. The '67 was positive ground, the '73 was negative ground. The guy had the coil wired backwards. Because it wouldn't run he sold it for $1000. I put that car together and it was my daily driver. So anyway, having an interest in MGs, I met someone who had an MG SA. It was just sitting outside in his drive. I thought the car was cool, but it was not forsale at the time. So I certianly would have bought this one back in the 80s dollars.
Love old Mopars 👍🏻💯🇦🇺
that Jag story has a certain ,dont let the truth get in the way of a good ol story vibe to it,the fella with the Chrysler MUST be Don Knotts relation ,hes damm funny and he sounds and looks like him too,lol SOWED HES WILD OATS I IAINT HEARD THAT FOR DECADES
I always loved going to the Henry Ford Museum / Greenfield Village. To me that was the mecca for automotive and history nuts. Outside of the Smithsonian where else could you find so much of America's past preserved?
VetteKid, Agree about THF. I live within sight of the museum, and large as it is, the Museum storage facility next door dwarfs it. I was fortunate enough to get a private tour, and imagine 300 vehicles stretching for two blocks. Last vehicles owned, Roosevelt's Rolls next to Henry Ford's 40s sedan, both preserved. Thousands of artifacts, way to long to discuss here….9/10ths are in that building, 1/10th on display.
I ❤ it !!!
Back when Chrysler was the best
Not often hear of the used oil on the chassis trick...i can vouch that it works though.
No Neck, with MGs, if it isn't leaking a little oil on the chassis and ground , then the MGTA, TB, TC, TD, TF, is out of oil! Sounds far-fetched, but MG actually used a reverse Archimedes screw thread to get oil to the last main bearing, and , when the engine is turned off, the oil drains off the thread, ten drops worth. MG dealt with the issue, oil accumulating in the trans housing, by drilling a 1/8" hole in the bottom of the housing, with a cotter pin, allowing the oil to escape. Crazy fix but true!
Amazing that MG 6, never seen one before , i was a passenger in an MGY sedan back in the 60's drove form Sydney to Melbourne and back, the highway was like a goat track
I had a MGYT, (710 made) the convertible version to the YA,YB sedans, a nice driver, the 'Y' type was the 1st MG with rack&pinion steering, also independent suspension. Was it pretty? I thought it looked like an upside down bathtub and could not get rid of it fast enough! From the Y the TD emerged. MG, to cut costs, made the Y series, and the TD with solid steel wheels, changed back to wires with the TF. The Ys were the sedan side of MGs and had only one carb, not two, like the T series.
Is the maroon saloon still available?? I have a 58 MGA coupe I am restoring just east of Columbus Ohio and would love to put that project on hold for the opportunity to be the next custodian of that!!
Both of those gentlemen are beauties. For every stodgy "collector" who lets his cars sit in a muddy field rusting into the ground because "he's gonna restore them someday when he has the time" there are just as many guys who want to promote the hobby and are willing to share their knowledge or in the 1st case give a young dude a great deal on a car he'll spend a lifetime restoring and sharing
