Are you an E-Max retailer??
Yes We are!
I bought one of these radios to replace my Taranis and DX8. Now I have 2 hobbies: a little flying and a lot of dickin' around with this radio.
That’s what I’m saying there’s too many things you gotta do with this radio just to get you flying
Sell it and go back to your previous two radios, then. This whole hobby is about “dicking around”, that’s part of the fun. If you don’t get that, this hobby is not for you.
You think the taranis was more simple to use. 😂😂😂😂
Jamie MacFarlane exactly!
Get a Horus X10 or X10s (non ACCESS) and you wont have any of this crap!
Do you have to do this with Spektrum AR620? I am constantly getting RSSI warnings. Please help!
I have the TX16s radio...this tuning..does it have to be done on both high an low..or can you just do it on high or low
Jumper t16 and dragonlink run fine?
Also first run is mandatory tune up?
Great video as always. Can you answer a question for me. I just got the Jumper T16 pro and can't get it to transfer models from my Taranis plus. I downloaded the latest version of companion but the T16 isn't an option in the transmitter dropdown list. How have you transferred models ?
Thank you for showing how to set up the beeper at the end as well as the thorough walkthrough!
I havent bought mine yet, but soon. Great information for when i get mine. What about intergrated receivers on micros, do we follow the same procedure as the standalone receivers, and i assume we must do this for every new receiver for the JT16. Thanks guys👍👍
Does each individual receiver need to be tuned, or would all receivers of a given model share the same tune? Thanks! Great video 👌
Newbie here. Considering the purchase of a real transmitter to replace my toy transmitter. This looks kind of complicated, but possible. Are there any manufacturers making RTF multirotors with which this transmitter would NOT work? Also, you are tuning the drone with a Windows based computer. Is a computer required? If so, can a Mac work? Can you do these adaptations on the transmitter without a computer? Speaking of computers, I noticed that the computer flight simulators are also for Windows. Is the R/C community a Windows world?
I fly with mine regularly out far with a large aircraft and never had any problems. I think your maybe suffering from a little OCD. And I still use The software Jumper TX.
This rc transmitter can use for big rc airbus ?
(Please reply )
Hey guys, nice vids..... ! Topic is: I don’t have a BNF spectrum cub to bind to (although my grandson could learn on that one)
I having trouble binding to my spectrum 620 and 636, and orange RX dsmx/dsmx2. I insured that I can bind with my DX6E, and yet, I am not able to bind with my new JUMPER T16Pro. Surely it must be user error. I checked the throttle setting for “fail safe” , but the ESC will not even beep through its post mode. Rx only blinks. I’ll re-try the firmware install through Bootloader ..... selected multi-mode and Dsmx.... just missing the tip.
Thoughts?
I kinda wonder could this be the reason why I had random failsafes with different frsky receivers and radios? Just not tuned perfectly? Anyway, I'll never know, coz I switched to T16 and crossfire. Thanks for the T16 videos?
Very cool! On real flight, once you hear the beeper, what's the next thing you do?
You received the number and then do it for the other direction.
When will you get the Jumper T16 back In stock....Thanks!
Thanks for making a video about this. I have been trying to tell people about this for years (applies to all multi-protocol modules, right back to the ones that you had to solder into Deviated Devo7e radios). I have seen so many people send back or throw away receivers (or even whole flight controllers) because they think they are faulty, simply because this freq.fine tuning procedure is not widely known.
BTW, you could just watch the lights on the receiver, to see when it loses bind.
I always get low signal strength when flying my rc planes. Yesterday it showed a lost signal. Always weak signals when flying maybe 50 yards away. What do I need to do with the TX 16s to correct this. I am using a spektrum receiver.
Do you have to do this for other protocols on the Jumpers? For example... spektrum?
The protocols which require frequency tuning are:
FrSkyD (e.g. FrSky D4R and D8R, DIY RX-F801 and RX-F802 receivers)
FrSkyV (e.g. FrSky V8R4, V8R7 and V8FR receivers)
FrSkyX (e.g. FrSky X4R, X6R, X8R, and XSR receivers)
S-FHSS (e.g. Futaba S-FHSS receivers)
Corona (e.g. Corona V1 FSS, Corona V2 DSSS CR8D/CR6D/CR4D and FlyDream IS-4R/IS-4R0 receivers)
Hitec (e.g. Optima, Minima, Micro and RED receivers)HoTT (e.g. Graupner receivers)
Just copied this from the github on the subject
I'm no tech expert but I would never do this kind of tuning indoors unless you plan to fly indoors.
I've had issues with receivers that just would not bind indoors, but worked fine outdoors.
So if you want to tune for outdoor flying, you need to tune outdoors to be in the same operating window.
I just received my Jumper T16 from Grayson, I updated the MPM to the latest FW, tried binding my first RX... a Frsky S6R and it's not working well. there's about a 2 or 3 second lag between moving the sticks and the model responding.... any ideas?
Buy a real radio like the Horus X10
Useful info for non 2-way telemetry receivers!
I wish there was some clarity as to whether you need to fine-tune each receiver - the OpenTX devs say that you can use the same calculated values for all receivers, but my tests seem to show that different receivers (both genuine FrSky and clones) take slightly different values...
I'll stick to tuning each receiver individually. Doesn't really take that much time anyway, so why not go for the extra peace of mind?
I would love to see a video about binding a PNP king kong 185mm to the new Jumper T16 Pro. Jumper r1 or maybe DSM2/DSMX. Great channel guys! 2 Thumbs up! I dont have any BNF/PNP setup experience. Thanks guys. Use the #420 one... LOL
MrIndyjonescj Hello, did you solve the DSMX/DSMX2 bind challenge? Please share. For me it’s like it’s just not talking yet. Cheers!
Not yet. My jumper Isn’t making things very easy. Spectrum receivers Are fussy anyway, but my jumper doesn’t want to bind any flysky receivers either. Ya Flysky. The easiest protocol there is. Binds to FrSky and bayang great. Won’t recognize My crossfire module either. This hobby is testing me pretty harshly. I may have to end up just getting quads and whoops with FrSky and bayang protocols. The funny thing is, my cheap Fkysky transmitter binds to the Fkysky receivers in about one second. So far to me the cheapest seems to be the easiest. Let me know if you figure anything out as well. If you look for videos on DSMX or DSM2 there doesn’t seem to be any. Just one or two and they don’t cover much. Or they’re using a Spektrum radio. Happy flying!
Gday Will & Basil, nice job you two trouble makers thanks for all the jumper t16 info guys always awsome to see great content.👍🛸
Where can I get one of those battery switches? Sure would make binding to FrSky a lot easier
Another great video so in depth keep em coming !! Would be good if you could do video of updating your jumper t16 to open tx ?????
Should I tune every rx individually?? Even if its the same protocol?
Ww recommend it - B
Step by step first time - thanks guys. Nice work. 👍👍👍
Will/Basil, I tried this process and It loses reception (radio) in at 60 feet (20m). I bind it with Jumper T16 Pro V2.
BetaFPV 65X 2S
Any advice to resolve the radio range?
Thanks,
Arnold
Well I have a Tinyhawk S with (frsky rx version) ... when finetuning by a chance of 90% it won't recover the signal at all and I have to power cycle the quad or tx that it connects again... Thawk S specific? I set it to FRSKY X in betaflight to connect via D16
Guys, just have an issue with my jumper t16 pro, the MDL is now get into Widget setup instead of model settings. Would you be able to help please? Thanks. I’m running latest OpenTX 2.3.4 and latest multiprotocols firmware.
Can you please make a video on R9m and jumper tx16. It is very confusing about which features works and which one doesn’t, specially fport, access etc
Just to be clear frsky receivers only? Flysky, spectrum no need to?
Two days ago the MDL button on my T16+ started developing this problem, when it is pressed I get the Tele setup screen not the model setup display menu. I searched through the rcgroups.com forums, facebook group and found other people experienced the same problem but no comments as to how to fix it. Some have speculated it is because there's no models programmed or that it needs a new firmware flash. I have models programmed and flashed the OpenTX version 2.3.3 nightly versions and did NOT fix the MDL button issue. Is it possible for the T16 is no longer powering the external TX module? It looks that way cause the Vout on radio's back pin is 0V.
It’s a ribbon cable problem. Removing, flipping, and reseating cable fixed this problem for me.
Can you help me please? I have the jumper t16 pro and I am trying to bind a flysky fs-a8s receiver found in the eachine wizard x220s. I've been trying for hours and it just doesn't work?
Hello my throttle warning is always problem I go to meni set the calibration and My throttle not idle can create video how to setup this thanx
Why do you need to rebind after de tune? I don't get the point
This is why I still prefer my old 9x. Don't need to mess with all this stuff for helis. The other 9x has the open TX or whatever it was called just for my quad. Then again I stopped flying when people got to crazy with people flying anywhere. I know there are a lot of options for settings but this is the only place I don't want to be messing with things and just go fly.
I'm happy with my x-lite I'll wait as few on this..Great job Guys! Thumbs up!
Hello I spoke to you today on the phone can you please do a video on tuning your receiver using the xmplus receiver because I just can’t get it to work thank you 😊
this is what the 2nd quad (betafpv) has - an XM+ | Its the same process / procedure as the Jumper R1
Okay guys, I just want to fly my RC Airplane models (Sport & Scale) and I do not fly quad. This radio seems nice but, I rather not, I just don't have the time to involve myself in another hobby to mess around with all the programming and tizzy downloading, flashing and keeping up with the latest. Believe it or not, I still fly super narrow band 72-MHZ and early Spectrum radios (2.4-Giga) digital. The need for simple and enjoying an RC Airplane model is just what I enjoy without all the work. As an Aerospace Engineer, I enjoy my "simple" time at the RC Club field without "working" again! LOL!
Does this also apply when using DSM receivers?
I think that they recently added the option to fine tune the frequency on other protocols but, generally you should only really need to do it for receivers that use protocols that utilize the CC2500 RF chip. In other words, you should only need to do it for the S-FHSS, Corona, Hitec and, FrSky protocols
I seem to have run into this issue with my DSM receiver's, is they're a way to fix this?
@@ziamckeithen1322 I seem to remember hearing that there was an issue with DSM and the JumperTX firmware (not entirely sure what it was, I don't have a Jumper myself). I think the fix was posted in the Jumper T16 RCGroups forum. However, as OpenTX-proper is now available for the T16, you'd probably better off flashing that to it (if you haven't already). You may need to update the firmware on the multiprotocol module too, I'm not too sure. You'll get more direct help if you ask in that RCGroups forum. But, maybe the Grayson Hobby guys know more...
@@Temporal_Flux thank you, I'll try to rember to check they're too
Hi guys, could you teach us where to download the module and radio new firmwares and on how to flash them to the radio? Like the new OpenTX for Jumper and the internal new firmware..
Thanks
Great video but fails to highlight one point I believe, and that is than not only would you need to do this fine tuning to "Your Receiver" but theoretically to each and every Receiver you have in each and every model if you're worries about this.. . Since I have 20+ models in different planes and I haven had an Rx go into fail safe due to loss of signal for over 5 years, I'm not about to start worrying about this now..Just Sayin'
Great video really helpful especially since it didn’t come with instructions.
Thank You..
Never had problems with my JT16 and my FrSky LBT Receivers. With my FCC one I had problems
The latest firmware on the 4in1 as of 11/25/19 is 1.3.0.44, this what it took to bind to my dongle for Liftoff, the dongle binds to DSMX 22ms. BTW if u have a bad 3 way switch as I did, that is both end-points on mine were high, I took the little ribbon cable off the board where the two switches were hooked up (mine SD&SC) to check check if switch was shorted, it was not, but when I put the ribbon back in and pushed the clamp down it was working properly. Guess the ribbon was originally pushed in at a slight angle.
thank you for xm plus beeper trick..quite usefull.
On a plane with just an esc and no flight control?
Also do the regular frsky auto range this if so why don't these?
WHAT!!?
@@Freebird_67 how do you do this procedure on a plane with no flight controller? And why does this need to be done with Jumper tx and not like a Taranis. Do the Frsky txs do this calibration automatically?
You tune your frequency for the RX for an airplane with this same procedure.. Airplane, Heli, Plane, RX is an RX
I wish I knew wtf you are talking about.
Guess I'll have to go with RTF.
i am learning so much
great vid guys very handy!!
Thank You - B
No issues with the jumper, but I fine tuned Freqs to each quad.
Thanks for the positive feedback and thanks for letting us know.
14:03 what is 2,000? Feet?
The t 16 is great radio and very good !!! I like this radio.
Excellent video, thank guys...👍🏻🍻👊🏻
Thanks for watching! - B
do the xm series receiver PLEASE
that's what they were doing with that betafpv hx drone.
Great video. Very helpful!
Thank you
Thank you!
Oh, yeah...this one too.
Best
Thanks Dude - B
Ok guys, great content, But!. This should have been done outdoors away from radio interference, wifi, cell phones, etc and on low power. This was great content! I get the jest. You just can't do this indoors!!!!!! Love you guys! But you kinda showed us how not to do this. Sorry😬
Try putting a UHF module in the back of there and see what happens! Not good anyone flying UHF steer clear of this TX you have been warned.
BillHally that’s fact!! 433mhz kills the Processor and jams the radio because this radio has shit shielding . 868mhz and 915mhz works but I’ve heard of glitching. You can shield the inside with Copper tape and that helps specially if you use copper tape and actually ground it but who the Hell wants to spend $150 on a radio and have to fix it to use uhf!? Not me! I’ll stick with my QX7 with XF mod and R9 gear. No issues as of lately running older rx and tx FCC sbus firmware 180329 👍😉
what?. calculator for -63 and 66 addition?😫😫😮😮
Bleeeh I'm not doing this, I just won't use Frsky receivers. They're suppose to do this at the factory.
It's crazy how immature this hobby still is, selling uncalibrated transmitters to the public.
Imagine if you had to radio signal strength tune and calibrate your cell phone, cordless phone, car keyfob, garage door opener, or wifi router right after you bought it.
Sitting around the shop screwing around with nothing better to do, you guys should open them up and VAR tume them before you sell them out the doors to customers.
2 different manufacturers . Each use different equipment to test and tune the frequency
I couldn't follow your math on the second example...
Why is this tuning actually necessary. This is not required even on the cheapest of radios so why with Jumper for a mid priced radio. It's the craziest thing I have ever seen you have to spend a lot of time Binding , adjusting and Binding. Buy a Horus X10/X10S instead no adjustments like this are required.
Its required because it's a muti-module. This is the case for all multi modules.
Wow more user friendly ...NOT!
Open TX had been around for years, this is nothing new
@@graysonhobby For guys like you that have been around these all your lives it's easy but for old guys like me, and there are a lot of us, they're not user friendly. I'm glad I watched this second video.
