Now live in wales and still get it delivered

I used to live just off the Walworth road and when I was a kid I remember not only the one on East St but one on Walworth road itself next to the Temple Bar pub

My mummy was the eldest of thirteen children born in bermondsey, her dad was a troubedor in the docks!!!! And mum passed away at 93 six years ago. Miss her sooo much, rip mum Paula b xxxx

@@emmaitch No shes not but have to admit her family went to Manzies!!!! But need to have a visit to arments if they are still there very very soon!!! My mouth is watering Paula aged 66 in east sussex

@@paulalaye6428 Gotcha. Arments is still there. And still good. Do you know that you can order Manze's and Arments online now? It's not the same as going to the pie shop to have it, but it's still very good.

I remember for most of my childhood my Grandad and Nan every Sunday would go get Pies from here and bring it over so everyone could have some.

I’ve visited london and tried most of the pie and mash shops and I’ve no doubt arment was the best food by a king way, the decor is a bit better in some of the others but the food was far superior in arments, the eels were much nicer and the liquor was better. They also did a desert pie a cherrry type pie which was one of the nicest things I’ve tasted in my life.
It is a shame though to me that you can’t get the liquor made with eels juice anymore - surely that’s the best way to have it and I would be willing to lay extra to have a sauce made with eel juice, I’m from Bristol but pie and mash fascinates me x

No pie-mash shops have used eel stock since the 70s, so there's not that many people around who have actually tasted it made the old way.
