Respect to Aaron and all he’s done for skating. You can’t wake and bake and do the pod. Good on Fish and Paz pulling some good stories out. I love to hear the behind the scenes tales from the videos I religiously watched. Keep it up fellas!

Looked up to Aaron when I was a kid and was definitely my skating idol for the longest time. I am thankful to see an interview with him since he has been gone for quite a long time. I don't think that some pros from back then understand what impact they have/had on some kids that are looking up to them. Thanks for this episode and best wishes to this legend!

Just now discovering this pod. Started blading again recently at age 41; I've kept physically active in my time off the blades, but damn, it is definitely hard on the body.
Aaron was clearly one of the best ever to do it, and it was remarkable how he dominated everything he committed to: street, park and vert. He got burly, he was super-tech, and also did crazy, creative stuff. A real joy to watch. He also got so much HATE from message board keyboard warriors calling him a park rat.

Damn Aaron no credit for me filming?????.. hahaha all love we smoked way to much to have memory now adays and haven't see Aaron for almost ten years now that I don't live in Portland any more. Anton and myself (Glenn pounds) filmed 95% of the Portland footage... Think one clip is bj Cambell behind the camera or maybe Shane Saviors but I was only one in town with a Cannon GL1 besides the one that they gave Aaron to film with and that was vx1000. Believe we all got credit for it in the credits of brain fear gone but don't remember exactly.

I was thinking the same thing. I grew up very lucky living in Orange County. I skated with this guy, Richard, Demetrios.. even got to skate at barn burner in Seattle and party with at hotel with all these guys.
As a matter of a fact, Franky Morales rolled my first blunt off a playboy magazine in his hotel room. It was a night I will never forget, I was probably 16.
He’s most definitely just hit the blunt a few times, may have some other stuff going on.. it’s easy to get on pain meds with good money as a younger adult and injuries in your your twenties/thirties.
Anyhow, I wish nothing but the best for all of these guys, they kept me doing something positive every day for years of my life, made the best friends and had the best times.

YEA THAT MINDGAME HEAD PROFILE - FOR SURE AARONS DOME!! ; ) 34:09 STEAZ!!
I would pay him to meet him. Portland? WOW. Did he know Brian Maxwell or Sapata who was from near the area in the early 2000's? XD. His Brain Fear Gone section is one of my fav sections of all-skaters!! So many amazing pros but he is part of the 2nd generation essentially after Arlo and Edwards... This guy might understate what he has done in and for the sport but believe me - this man is a LEGEND and Arguable Mt. Rushmore of the sport!! My personal top-5 in order HAFFEY, FEINBERG, LATIMER, SHIMA, SPIZER. Honorable mention: Stockwell, Aragon, and Farmer.
The fact Aaron won the XD Games and had the Solomon ST pro model (arguable best skate ever) IMMORTALIZED him and made him one of the most marketable and mainstream faces in BLADING. Im 31 and skated hard from 2000-2009, took a break from 2010-2017, and been skating the last 3 again. Plan on skating till my body wont let me. So many people I hope come back to blading with this hiatus from the virus reminding people of their old past times. BLADING IS LIFE

I live an hour from Portland. The only time that I have skated with Feinberg was at the first barn bunner comp in Seattle. I saw him do the biggest flat 3 over the the spine like 10 feet from the coping to cess slide down the other. It was awesome. I have also seen underground clips of aaron skating Portland spots, like Milwaukee high and doing the most bad ass beautiful skating. The guy is unbelievable, and does tricks that I would only dream of. He should roll around because it's fun and good exercise. I bet if they built something cool to skate, he might skate.

I can't blame the guy but you can hear how jaded he is in his voice and that is a shame.
By and large many people consider him the GOAT and you have to look at it from the outside point of view. It is like a child finding out about michael jordan only to realize, not only does he no longer play basketball, you can tell it is the last thing he wants to be doing. It paints the picture that what you are about to do isn't worth it. Even at the end you can tell his heart only seems to be halfway in it when talking about remaining in the scene in any aspect. It sounds so cliche and so "white girl" but I want him to WANT to be back in rollerblading and I kinda don't feel that at times during this. It is very much a stark contrast to when you see Rachard Johnson hitting a ledge and getting after it.
Real talk, I don't really think people expect him to huck himself off things and I get the vibe he thinks that is what we want when he references injuries. I get it, minutes before the dude said he had 200k sitting in the bank at some point so as far as what he can get from rollerblading, that is probably exhausted. But I think he left a legacy and impact bigger than he is willing to acknowledge and that just overall just makes me really fucking bummed.

Once you reach your mid 30's you're past your athletic prime, and things start to deteriorate fast. Blading is an athletically demanding sport, so enjoy it while you can.

People risked their lives and had really bad injuries from pushing their limits. It was so dangerous but the mainstream media still ignored it and people still made fun of it. Imagine risking so much and being so talented but still have people never take you serious if you tell them you rollerblade. People realized that they should just skate for fun because there wasn't enough money in it to be doing such dangerous stunts. Why is it that the gnarliest, most impactful and innovative skaters who have molded our industry and the blade game as a whole so much are the most boring, bland, quiet, have no memories of anything, cant elaborate on shit, dont know how to talk properly and form a damn literate sentence people can understand type of personalities? I swear they are ALL like this too. The dude couldnt even form a sentence or talk right, like does he have a permanent brain injury? Feinberg def being the worst for sure but Shima doesnt remember shit or doesnt really get into many details, DL is pretty much the same way, Broskow acted like he didnt even know what to say or what to do when he was on stage at the "night at the movies" event when asked to elaborate on his sections. Sean Kelso had more to say and he just filmed some of it, thats all.... Like all these dudes gotta be annoying af for Fish and Paz cuz its like they get this legend to come on their show and then when they try and get them to open up about certain events or things from the past, its like they might as well be asking some random bystander who was just there watching cuz these dudes act like they werent even there or dont even remember something that had such a last impact on the rest of the blade world. Like we brought u on this show to get some of that back story and hear things from their perspective cuz rarely u get that side of the coin and then u get the "oh well, u kno, wait what are asking me about again? oh that, yeah it was cool. I think I remember what ur talking about, wait what year was that again? I think it was when I was XX age maybe, idk , not sure, we had fun tho..." Like WTF?! I get that a lot of the memories sorta blend together when ur traveling all over the country/world skating and filming multiple sections and winning comps every other weekend but damn like u could at least give us something that we dont already know... its sorta why u were brought on the show and asked these questions, not to just make small talk and shoot the shit. U should be prepared for these questions cuz u know they are coming. I know hes never been the most vocal and social person but Feinberg just acted like he came out of a coma from a horrible head injury and now just smokes pot all day and sleeps. It was hard to even watch this. Props to JS for keeping the flow going and trying to get what they could from the man.

Never was a big Feinberg fan. He always rubbed me as arrogant. Same reason I never liked matty mantz. Same reason I was a BIG Roadhouse supporter. Would rather support a local kid like Jeff Dalnas who was just as good but got no attention in the 90s.
Feinberg seems so disconnected from rollerblading , its sad.

Never saw Matty Mantz as "arrogant", he just seemed "moody" and depressed all the time, like he hated skating.

Okay I have a problem with this. I can't say anything Bad about feinberg. Cause this is the End justify the means. No matter what his attitude was his skating and winning that x games did so much for the sport. But man this interview really shows hes just not good interviewer or hes just has a bad personality. He never looks at the camera, he seems to be dissing the questions. Un passionate. You couldn't shut fallon or demetris (sp) up. They were passionate. This seems like you are interrogation a criminal who doesn't want to give information. I mean even when talking about mind game "what not". He isn't passionate about it. Like seriously this was the worst one ive seen. And its crazy its from a legend. I don't know what aaron does for his career. Im sure hes good. But this seems like he doesn't want to talk about his past. Like hes not having fun in his life now. The only time he smiled and picked up was when they were talking about brain fear gone. I mean maybe its something that happened in the past that hunts him. But he definitely is a legend.

Everyone got scared of aggressive inline and made it into all these other off-shoots...Should of carried on what it was in the past to create a richer history of the culture. Rollerblading doesnt know where the fuck it is.
