I stopped watching the mainstream media back around 2009 when I cancelled cable TV. My life has been much better since! That Johnson's wax brings back military memories of getting the floors ready for inspection.

I liked how you only put a small hole in the "bluing". That way if you happen to knock it over, you have a better chance of salvaging it before it all spills. Plus it makes application easier.

My wife and I are living on SS. For the last 3.5 years we lost $890 per month of buying power. My son who is a biden harris supporter told me that was impossible because The NY Times says inflation is 2.7 % . I told him that I wish that Walmart would start reading the times because my grocery bill went up 30% and my diesel fuel more than doubled.
I too was enjoying retirement until 4 years ago when Gas and Oil doubled and then everything else skyrocketed. People are quick to quote the gaslighting Main Stream media but ask to see their bank accounts- Debt is out of control. Unless you OWN your home and car and have money in the bank you can’t say you’re doing well. 😃👍

Hi John. I immediately had to go find my favorite tool that I put an oxide coating on. It is my handy little ball bearing storage device My lovely wife bought it for me from the Dixie Antique Tool Kit Company. Because it is a replica of a ball bearing storage device from the 1600's it wasn't blued it was coated with Plum Brown Oxide. I really like it. I have many accessory brass powder handling devices for storing, measuring, and installing the ball bearings. I was lucky enough to find an estate sale where they had a supply of accessories, including a large box of ball bearings. They are the softer lead type of ball bearings. They can only be used once but I have enough to not work about using them up quickly. It is unfortunate to have people leave. I find it helpful to have a frank discussion about agreeing to disagree. I am sticking around even if you favor Bluing over Plum Brown. 😂😎

Like you we are up to 5 cats and 2 dogs. Besides all the fowl that comes here to eat we now have 2 squirrels living under our propane tank. It has a fiberglass shell that looks like a big rock. Raw peanuts ,crackers and a marshmallow once and a while. We never know who’s coming to dinner!

It was good to see the tutorial, particularly to see how the finish changed through the process and that it only really seemed to come together with the steel wool and oil ! Don't start me on mice, we're in a semi-rural location and have mice In all the out-buildings even the garage, we usually tolerate each other but I've learned not to leave any vegetables out there that are not in a tin box. Just last week we had a new issue where they've chewed through the lid of a jar to get at the food inside, we've never had this problem before even with plastic lids but the manufacturer no longer fits a foil seal ( all part of reducing waste I guess ) and I think that is the issue - lesson learned !
😂😂. In rural areas mice can spell big trouble! Here we only get an occasional visitor that don’t do to much damage. My property upstate the mice took over the one building and even changed the locks! 🫣😂👍
I miss those old sturdy enough to be a murder weapon Western Electric phones. It is a real shame Western Electric did not survive the break up of AT&T. The brand name survives and is used for vacuum tubes but it is a different company.

Bluing really came out nice! Good tutorial. I'm watching some old war classics like The Longest Day, Battle of the Bulge, Bridge on the River Kwai. etc. Personally I'm glad you 'filtered out the bad seeds even if it wasn't intentional. My aunt had a cocker spaniel pup and a mama cat which adopted it and would bring it mice and garter snakes. Thanks to all the veterans out there your service is appreciated
Eric- funny story- My neighbor was just bitten by a Garter snake and got a little sick! They are venomous! Worse when they are small as they can’t control their venom! I never knew that. 😃👍
Walter moved to Connecticut where he and his family were released one beautiful spring day near a beaver dam with lots of trees and bushes to hide under. At the time of his release he had over twenty mice! 😂👍🇺🇸
John, there's a video of Indy driver Danica Patrick saying how she one posted the words "I love America" and she got backlash! Also as a kid she had this cool leather jacket that had the American flag on the back and USA down the sleeve. She points out that if she wore that jacket today she'd be making a political statement. Crazy that those ideas are blasphemous to one party. As someone who grew up with a rotary wall phone in the kitchen and a party line, loved reading all of Friday's comment. Beautiful ending to today's video.

It's a free country to do pretty much whatever you like or feel regardless of your politics. We have these enduring freedoms from sacrifices made through time by so many brave, capable people, so that none of us should feel like it came free, but are charged with a duty to defend that freedom at all costs, on all fronts.
Hey scout, a tip , try not to contaminate the bluing bottle with rust etc. it will dilute the bottle. use a new spot on the towel each time. hope that helps.
Regarding illumination of the flag, I was advised that the US flag flown at night, by law, HAD to be illuminated. Makes good common sense to me. I was charged with installing a new flag and pole at the entrance to our subdivision. The ropes had long rotted away and we could not lower the well-worn flag for replacement. Three of us guys in the neighborhood devised a means to lower the new pole when it was time to change the flag from wear without pulleys and rope. That also reduced theft of our nice large flags. On the top of the pole, we purchased a relatively inexpensive circular solar light with an electric eye to come on only after dark. Worked great and easy to change out if needed by lowering the entire pole to ground level. We designed and used a hinge device secured by a heavy lock to lower the pole that could not be done by 1-2 people. We always used at least three guys to lower it. Off the subject, and just FYI. Thanks for your service to our country!
Growing up in scouts we learned the flag code of the United States, funny thing is here in NYC I don’t think anyone has ever received a flag violation notice. 😂😂👍🇺🇸

In the gunsmithing world we generally rinse a cold blued part with water after treating, before oiling, that way you neutralize the salts that are doing the blueing process (controlled rust). I had never heard of going straight to oiling before but you seem to be getting good results with it. 😅 Happy Veteran’s Day to you and thanks for your service to our great nation! 🇺🇸🫡
Ryan- Hot bluing is really the only way to go- It’s really a complicated process though. The cold bluing has its place though I prefer polished look. 😂👍

The old saying that " travel is broadening" is really true. Go to any country you want, and if you are even a little thoughtful, when you get home you will be thankful to be an American. To be an American is to win the world's lottery. Please don't take it for granted, even though we're not perfect. Those pliers look good. I'm a bit conflicted by bluing, especially after all the hard work to remove all the pitting and bring back a nice finish. However, I've seen enough blued refinishing projects to see that sometimes it is a very good and attractive solution. Happy Veteran's day to SC. Today is your day. Thanks for your USMC service.

Our family fled Communism. I served 21 years in the military, 741 days deployed to 3rd world countries. This is a good time to be an American.

Like you we are up to 5 cats and 2 dogs. Besides all the fowl that comes here to eat we now have 2 squirrels living under our propane tank. It has a fiberglass shell that looks like a big rock. Raw peanuts ,crackers and a marshmallow once and a while. We never know who’s coming to dinner!
When wild animals are fed on a regular basis they have the sweetest disposition. 😃👍

Don't start me on mice, we're in a semi-rural location and have mice In all the out-buildings even the garage, we usually tolerate each other but I've learned not to leave any vegetables out there that are not in a tin box. Just last week we had a new issue where they've chewed through the lid of a jar to get at the food inside, we've never had this problem before even with plastic lids but the manufacturer no longer fits a foil seal ( all part of reducing waste I guess ) and I think that is the issue - lesson learned !
😂😂. In rural areas mice can spell big trouble! Here we only get an occasional visitor that don’t do to much damage. My property upstate the mice took over the one building and even changed the locks! 🫣😂👍

Bluing really came out nice! Good tutorial. I'm watching some old war classics like The Longest Day, Battle of the Bulge, Bridge on the River Kwai. etc. Personally I'm glad you 'filtered out the bad seeds even if it wasn't intentional. You never know what will trigger them. Lots of fragile people. I could almost smell that wax when you opened the can. Thanks to you and all the Veterans for your service to our country. My aunt had a cocker spaniel pup and a mama cat which adopted it and would bring it mice and garter snakes. Thanks to all the veterans out there your service is appreciated
Eric- funny story- My neighbor was just bitten by a Garter snake and got a little sick! They are venomous! Worse when they are small as they can’t control their venom! I never knew that. 😃👍

John, there's a video of Indy driver Danica Patrick saying how she one posted the words "I love America" and she got backlash! Also as a kid she had this cool leather jacket that had the American flag on the back and USA down the sleeve. She points out that if she wore that jacket today she'd be making a political statement. Crazy that those ideas are blasphemous to one party.

Your pliers restoration are a depiction of how our country is. We had the before, and now we can enjoy the cleanup of all the corrosion and dirt to make things as they should be. Hey scout, a tip , try not to contaminate the bluing bottle with rust etc. it will dilute the bottle. use a new spot on the towel each time. hope that helps.

Regarding illumination of the flag, I was advised that the US flag flown at night, by law, HAD to be illuminated. Makes good common sense to me. I was charged with installing a new flag and pole at the entrance to our subdivision. The ropes had long rotted away and we could not lower the well-worn flag for replacement. Three of us guys in the neighborhood devised a means to lower the new pole when it was time to change the flag from wear without pulleys and rope. That also reduced theft of our nice large flags.
On the top of the pole, we purchased a relatively inexpensive circular solar light with an electric eye to come on only after dark. Worked great and easy to change out if needed by lowering the entire pole to ground level. We designed and used a hinge device secured by a heavy lock to lower the pole that could not be done by 1-2 people. We always used at least three guys to lower it. Off the subject, and just FYI. Thanks for your service to our country!
Growing up in scouts we learned the flag code of the United States, funny thing is here in NYC I don’t think anyone has ever received a flag violation notice. 😂😂👍🇺🇸
I don't give a damn where I was when I climbed on board, all I can say is, "THANK GOD I'M AN AMERICAN!!! I once saw KH do the Bump wity Ellen Degenerate; that was enough for me. Another great video in the can, ScoutCrafter! 👍🏻 The blueing tutorial was pretty good. In the gunsmithing world we generally rinse a cold blued part with water after treating, before oiling, that way you neutralize the salts that are doing the blueing process (controlled rust). I had never heard of going straight to oiling before but you seem to be getting good results with it. 😅 Happy Veteran’s Day to you and thanks for your service to our great nation! 🇺🇸🫡
Ryan- Hot bluing is really the only way to go- It’s really a complicated process though. The cold bluing has its place though I prefer polished look. 😂👍

The old saying that " travel is broadening" is really true. Go to any country you want, and if you are even a little thoughtful, when you get home you will be thankful to be an American. To be an American is to win the world's lottery. Please don't take it for granted, even though we're not perfect.
Those pliers look good. I'm a bit conflicted by bluing, especially after all the hard work to remove all the pitting and bring back a nice finish. However, I've seen enough blued refinishing projects to see that sometimes it is a very good and attractive solution.
