    There are Danger Assessments created in order to determine the level of danger a victim is in yet most judicial court systems don’t use this tool. It’s baffling how abusers are allowed bail even when they have multiple Domestic Violence cases, judges should at least look at the history of the abuser. Also judges and DA’s need more DV training!

      When you say “It’s baffling..”, I find myself thinking how cunning patriarchy is, as a system! In terms of maintaining it’s subtle (in certain specific covert ways) dominance, it gets the job done ..... and leaves us “baffled”, over and over and over. When actually it’s as clear as day!

      IF a victim is even ‘lucky’ enuf to GET a case heard or established against an abuser. Mostly if we say they have done anything, we’re nuts; we made it up and/or we’re delusional.
      It’s ALSO baffling how abusers are allowed to take our babes when we attempt fleeing them.
      (I’m floored you have so many ‘likes’ on your comment tbh. Maybe folks are starting to realize? That we’re not these extremist liberal feminist crazies; we’re really seriously genuinely just desperate to survive, and especially for our babes to LIVE. I can’t help but tear up thinking maybe…. “…can murder people they actually love”? NO! We need to stop this mass gaslighting, starting with mental health professionals who perpetuate this twisted idea. You know what else isn’t Darci’s job? *To be harangued, nearly shouted at, pointed at, & drowned out start to finish by the journalist who **_invited_** her to be interviewed about her daughters murder, all so that he can earn a fat paycheck.*
    This was disgusting, actually painful to watch. This woman was nearly wiping her hair off her head by the end. If a victim becomes more anxious as the interview goes on, that’s a sign that you are doing something very, very wrong.
    It’s so obvious that you respect a woman less if she’s ‘just a victims Mom’ and not a ‘professional’ with a $500 bleach job. You didn’t interrupt the latter women once, but _started speaking over Darci in her first answer_ , and didn’t stop. Why???
    No shade to the other two guests but their interviews were forgettable at most. We were here to listen to Darci’s Mom. We weren’t here to listen to you, despite what you clearly believe.
    And we _definitely_ weren’t here to listen to you *raise your voice, watch you point your finger, cut off, say ‘But Darci! But Darci!’ over and over* to the soulbroken Mom of a beautiful young woman, murdered, failed by the courts, and now failed by you.
    Have her back- if she ever wants to come back. But she’s the Mom whose daughters killer is on the run, and you know how desperate these parents are for justice. Maybe it’s why you treat them like they are so dispensable. Another one will be begging for their spot.
    Give Darci the floor, at least a good 15 minutes of her _speaking_. You need to work out how much time you acfuskof need for interview questions. On that note, learn to to formulate succinct questions, instead of wasting time with 500 filler words.
    Learn active listening. Then actually listen. Actually hear and see these people, as equal to you. You might learn a thing or two.

    Wow! He didn’t show up and was only sentenced to 99 years! That means he still will get several chances to go before a parole board. He should have received life without the chance for parole. The judge still had sympathy for this killer.

    • @chrisnewman5050
      @chrisnewman5050 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know how the laws in Texas work exactly, but that's not entirely right. A 99 year sentence does not mean they gets the chance for parole. Usually when it's sentenced like that it's to avoid living to see parole. I doubt Texas is one of the states, but some places don't have life without parole sentences so the only way to keep somebody behind bars is a sentence longer than what they'll live.

    Horrible! Another tragic ending for a beautiful young lady. How is it? That clerical error, and other mistakes seems to happen a lot lately. Dangerous criminals given a low bail, and set free on OR. This man murdered his girlfriend. Not allegedly. But he murdered another person. The judge gave him 99 years in prison. He skipped out on his sentencing. Now he is free to commit another murder. Why do murderers get bail? They chance they will run increases. I hope who ever posted bail won’t loose their home.
