If theres one thing I do find weird about Sally Amaki voicing this character is that she's 100% a native English speaker and she could deliver probably the most authentic English performance and yet, they decided to have her read her lines with Japanese intonation so it ends up sounding off lol
It feels wrong and less as a anime girl if the intonation is perfect american english, you want to give it that japanese feeling to the voice. Reminds me of kiniro mosaic
Who knows, maybe she'll have to re-voice the character in "correct" english for a dub version? That would be the best way to keep the character traits while adapting the performance to the rest of dub voices. In the end, what they chose here is mostly flavor for the japanese audience.

I've read the first few chapters of the manga and it's very cute so far! I'm sure this adaptation will be fun, that said, I really wish they had 😮went all in with authenticity here. You have Sally Amaki, a native English-speaker, voicing the female lead. It just feels like a missed opportunity to have her using a Japanese intonation rather than an English-accent. Or better yet, her best impression of a British English accent. And to those of you saying "Well, she's speaking with a Japanese accent so Japanese viewers can understand her better", there are literal subtitles translating what she's saying, the MC himself even picks up on a few words and translates them. I don't mean to sound so negative. I'm still going to watch the anime, I just wish the directors would've encouraged Sally to go all in with the authentic-sounding English since she is more than capable of doing so.

I thought she was going for a a bit of a british english pronunciation dropping the R's and L's at the end of some words but I can see what you mean.
