Excellent review, I just started playing Infinity 6 months ago, and the first time I played Aristeia it hit me that this was one of the best introductory games for people outside of the miniature gaming community. So easy to teach yet with so many different possible strategies I just love it and my friends do too. The game is also relatively cheap so that is a plus.
I couldn't agree more. I wish someone had used Aristeia! to get me into miniature gaming. Not only is 8 models to paint easier to tackle than several hundred points but it's fun and engaging for both players. Great game by Corvus Belli.

Great vid! Been playing Aristeia since it came out. Brilliant game. Has one of the deepest draft pools for a skirmish game I've come across with huge variety between characters and immense possibilities for comboing. With the 4-player team play coming out in November 2020, if that kicks off well as Corvus Belli are wont to do, and hopefully with more heroes being offered going forward (32 unique heroes is nothing to sneeze at, but I want more, more, more), I think this is the premier low-overhead minis skirmish game on the market right now. Infinity is an amazing game but takes more effort. This is a breeze to start into and has huge depth of play that, as you said, reveals itself to have deeper and deeper layers of potential as you get into it.
Couldn’t agree more. It’s such a challenging, unique yet fun game and the speed at which you can play means you can get in a bunch of sessions without feeling fried! I really hope the scene picks up even more and would love to see some competitive match ups too 😄
one comment to mention in the core box you get 1 set of dice that is the most dice you will need for 1 player as you can't roll more than those in any rolls
@@the_infinitygamer its good if each player has a set each if you want to roll at the same time but if you don't want to do that 1 set is exactly the right number of dice because even with cards you cant roll more. That's a nice touch as most games don't do that
That’s a good point! It’s good that there’s a maximum you can roll of one dice colour but better to have spares. I think one of my expansions came with more dice but not sure 😬
Loving the boxes being slid into the frame! Also, lol, cat tail not included! It's a game I've been tempted by a few times, but haven't looked too deeply into, partially because of how many HaqqIslam units I was buying back then. Definitely seems interesting though!

I'd love to get her into space Hulk but sadly he doesn't want my money by only doing short production runs of spacehulk. This looks bloody amazing and easy to get into. I just ordered my Corregidor sectoral box set and I think I need to get aristea! Also now.... Thanks 👍
It’s a great fun game that doesn’t play like most miniature battle games. It’s kind of like Smallworld as a board game but much more fun and cool. Hopefully she likes it so you can get your infinity fix with her too! Oooh I do like that Corregidor box set. Great choice!!
Technical commentary: It's clear that this was edited down from a somewhat longer recording you did chop a bit early a couple of times and cut your own words a touch. Maybe that's the approach you were looking for. :D

In games like Warhammer Underworlds, the warband expansion packs come with a slew of neutral tactics cards that are specific to that pack. So to access the full card pool you have to buy everything, even if you don’t necessarily want those warbands. As far as you can tell, is Aristeia the same way?
The core box comes with everything you’d need to play including the neutral cards and the character-specific ones. In the expansions there are tactics cards specific to the characters in that box but I’ll have to look to see if there are new neutral cards too 😁
Thank you for your review. I'd like to add that Core Box and expansions are balanced. So, you can compete in an AGL tournament with your Core Box and win. Early expansions are not stronger and are not a 'must have' to be competitive in Aristeia! They offer new ways of play style, new solutions for you as a player, new characters that you may like more. This is one of the things I love about CB games as a whole. Extremely balanced so you can follow what you like without having to ‘pay to win’. Excellent work from the team and I’m a firm fan of this game.

The game was published nearly three years ago, and today people still can't agree at all about which char is the best or them, because it depends on you as a player. It's not in the profile, it's in your playstyle. There are some streamlined chars, easy to play (Miyamoto) and there are some designed to advanced players (Táowù). ^^
I love the format too. It’s like nothing I’ve ever played before. It makes me even more excited for Defiance and future CB games as well! Thank you for your effort, it is obvious this has been made by very talented people!
And... There goes my next paycheck! Hahaha how beginner friendly do you think this would be if id wanna get my mates to play when they're visiting? Finally, is it a full rulebook or like a booklet? I felt pretty boned after buying CodeOne, thinking id get a rulebook but getting a pamflet instead. I'm currently still recovering from some fractures in my arms, though.
You get a full rulebook which has your first game which you play along to and then there’s a reference book for you to check rules. I agree, the dice mechanics are a little complex but otherwise it might be a fun one to buy and bring out when they’re around!

That’s interesting! I didn’t find that an issue in the starter game as we rarely doubled up on dice but that’s good to know.

No, there are no universal cards apart from the core set and a separate card pack. So no 'pay2win' approach like in WHU.
