I think tulio and miguel are the definition of relationship goals. In writing, it is essential to have conflict to cause the mc's to grow. this conflict was man vs self, basically because they both wanted to go on two seperate paths. the king made miguel realize that he wanted to stay, while chel urged tulio to stay steady on his path. while they both ended up on the same path at the end, it maade me realize something about their relationship. While both were bummed to infinity about seperating, they both listened, realized, and accepted the others choice. Seeing that, is the reason why i believe that tulio and miguel have an amazing relationship.

Though its rather questionable whether Cortez may or may not have been able to find the city of gold without the help of the High Priest.
I also have a theory myself that Chel is a servant or a slave as she wears skimpy clothing well the rest of the women don't and when she said And I've got mine hints she didn't want to tell theme to much as well her tasks seem to be setting the flowers for the offerings as well as talking with the chief

This movie was meant to show that the true treasure is the friends and relationships you make along the way….that’s more valuable than any treasure old gold….but I’d still rather a billion dollars if I’m being honest 😂

Figured the idea of finding a lost city would be to similar and by this time, several ideas were already coming out that looked like Disney Rips. Also, Road to El Dorado did critically good, but commercially it was ok. Just ok. So dreamworks had a movie idea similar to Disney’s idea, both about lost cities and finding them, and the fact their first movie didn’t make back their revenue. The salt in the wound being Atlantis didn’t do to well either.

In a way Tzekel kan got what he wanted, he found a 'diety' that matched the right image and mindset, but what he missed was the possibility that his gods(or anyone like them) would see him as just another puny mortal like everyone else and he wasn't gonna be rewarded for his loyalty like he probably thought. Also considering how the opening was the gods providing a lush jungle paradise filled with life, I'm not sure where Tzekel kan got the notion they were the 'bloodthirsty rule with an iron fist' type, I'm taking that as a 'this is what i want rather than what they actually want' thing.
