Hi i have a question pls help, im non-eu national and my husband is swiss, we got married recently in my country. Should i apply for family reunion visa (D) first and later for permit B, or do i automatically get permit B after my visa D, im really confused and can’t find an answer, thank u so much!
Hi! You should apply for a visa D first. Then, once in Switzerland you'll be given a B permit after reporting to your Gemeinde and having your biometrics taken
Hello Mrs. Raine, Thank you for your video. I also have a question, my husband received his B permit ( depending on his job ) 3 months ago and I also started my application right after that. Meanwhile around 1 month and half ago, they requested 2 more documents, now we are still waiting, no updates and when we call, they just say there are still some pending clarifications and that’s why we couldn’t give you the final decision yet. Do you know what does the clarifications refer to, what I understand is about the validation of our docs from our home country right? Did they also ask you more docs, and how long did you wait after that? Thank you for your time ❤
Hi! The clarifications could be based on your husband's work permit and of his job can support you or if his home is big enough for at least 2 occupants. These are just my assumptions. 😅 For clarifications, the Migrationsamt typically forwards a letter to the sponsor in Switzerland to: - complete a questionnaire - submit additional documentation I've talked with one person who's been waiting for a long while and her husband has not checked the mailbox for 2/3 weeks😅🙃😑 In the meantime, the Migrationsamt was waiting for the requested additional documentation. It's also the summer season so a lot of people and staff could be going on vacation
@@MissRaineTravels Thank you so much for the feedback. I appreciate your time. Yeah, we are 2 people and the house has 3 bedrooms and everything is okay on that side, we also completed a questionnaire 2 months ago and we submitted new documents that they asked. I was really stressed because I have heard that the reunification isn’t automatically granted to the spouse of B holders, is this true?🙈 It seems I need to just wait more🙈 I hope I can get it sooner🙈 Thank you again❤️

Hey ! Do I need a travel insurance after getting my Visa D ? Can you please explain me in details about what documents do I have to carry in airport while traveling to Switzerland with a visa D? Thank you
You'll only need to show your passport and visa D at the border control. I would suggest to also have a travel insurance as it's a handy protection while you don't have a medical insurance in Switzerland yet.
Hi Miss Raine! Thank you for this informative video. May I know if there’s a required amount of savings your husband should have for you to get the Visa D and Residence Visa/Permit? Appreciate your help.
Hi! From the ones I've read, there's no exact amount for savings if your spouse/partner isn't working. What's required is that they have a home to accommodate you and your relationship is or can be validated (for example, if married to a Swiss national, your marriage is already registered in Switzerland) Which Canton are you going to be residing in? Sorry but could you clarify me something? I'm Italian and currently live in Switzerland, I'd like to bring my non EU spouse to Switzerland but I'm not sure if we'd need a spouse visa or if it's just a matter of a residence permit, which is the case with EU countries. Since Switzerland isn't in the EU, are the rules similar? We'd only need a residence permit?
Does your spouse already live in an EU country? If yes, your spouse can register at the Gemeinde and start the residence permit process. If no, your spouse needs to obtain a visa D for family reunification from her current country pf residence. After the approval of the visa D, she has to travel to Switzerland and register with the Gemeinde to obtain the residence permit. I am also an EU spouse and I did the visa D + residence permit application since I did not live in the EU prior to moving to Switzerland
