--- LYRICS
May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
May the rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again,
May He hold you in His hand
May God hold you in the palm of His hand
Hold you in the palm of His hand - บันเทิง
This song makes me want to cry... A fellow barbershopper died recently so we sang this in memory of him...
My mom recently passed away and this song makes me think of her. I'm very sorry for you loss
+Amanda5797luvsCT I wish you my condolences as well. We knew each other, but we weren't too close. Your mother on the other hand.... That is a powerful bond indeed, and losing her must be like losing a part of yourself, seeing as she must have raised you to be like her, if not better.
Wouldn't he simply be called a barber? Or a Barbershop singer? Barbershoper sounds weird. Otherwise, my condolences.
@@rocklob069 I'm 69-years-old and a now inactve 54-year Life Member of the Barbershop Harmony Society. And looooong before I joined members have been referred to as "Barbershoppers." LOL
OH Julien you made this Irish man cry!!!!!! BEAUTIFUL!!! SLAINTE!!!!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it. You know where my tip jar is, if you'd like to tip the artist. :)
I sure do! :)
Me and my friends from chorus learned this freshman year and we always sing this and now we are seniors and we cry now whenever we sing this
TH-cam is lucky to have you.
Aww. I'm American and live in California but my Irish priest who recently left us used to sing this after after mass everytime. Beautiful.
0:38 actual chills so gorgeous!!! So “soft” 😍💚👍🏻
I listened to this 10 times today, at least. Tomorrow - I will play it for my chickens going to roost. They love an evening song!
My old school's choir sings this every year to the leavers on their last day. It was strange for me to be listening to it rather than singing it last May on my final day, but it was also great to be amongst the people I had known for seven years who were about to part ways. It's a very inspiring and moving piece which always creates a beautiful moment every year.
Your cover was fantastic; it makes me both remember how much I enjoyed my time at school and look forward to embarking on life. Thank you!
That’s so lovely! We did this too at my primary school leavers’ service. I had heard it for the first time at the practice but hadn’t really been paying attention and didn’t catch on the words until the real thing - then I cried!
It’s a really beautiful song and I hope I never forget it! :)
always love your works 10 years listenning to
I'm 67 and only been singing lead for 2 years. You are a very talented young man
I have shared this video to my friends and family every St.Patricks Day now for several years. It truly is a blessing thanks for making this. Your voice is so calming
my family has passed down the words to this for generations and i didn't realized there was a song until recently, definitely crying
This song reminds me of my step father, who has passed away. He had this hanging on his bedroom wall. It was a fantastic arrangement, executed beautifully. Thanks for the heartwarming reminder
Thanks Nicholas, glad this tune hit home. :)
I've been having a terrible week. All I can say is thank you Julien, you're helping a lot
Glad I could help with a song. :)
This just knocks me out! The whole thing is just too good. But with all that juicy foreplay, I still wait for that B-flat minor base note on "...his" at the end every time, and it sends chills. Of all these versions, yours just has the right harmonizing and chording and phrasing. Stop the press! We have a winner here.
I cannot get over that you are singing all four parts. The harmony is magnificent. Thanks for this blessing by sharing your great gift!
That last note was incredibly long and well carried by the bass. I would need a bucket.
I've probably already commented on this, but this is pretty much how I'd like to do the song. Planning on singing this for our next high school reunion.
I hope you enjoy this week's release: a traditional Irish Blessing, arranged in the barbershop style!
Please *share* this video if you enjoyed it, it helps!

WHAT A GREAT VOICE
As usual your work blows me away. I look forward to every Thursday.
You really ring those chords , like great barbershop should sound!
We sang this song in my choir😁 its so pretty
My class used to sing this at the end of our school day, for one whole year. It made for a terrific year.
Beautiful. Reminds me of my mom.
I did a different arrangement of this with as a tradition with my high school choir. Just graduated and will miss them. This video almost made me shed a tear.
I may not comment much, but I still love your music
This song holds a special place in my heart as on the last night of Camp, all the staff and counselors will stand behind the fire and sing this song. We do it a little differently. May the road rise with you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, may the rain fall softly at your feet, and until we meet again, I wish for you my friend, may god hold you in the hollow of his hand
Just used this again as a greeting to a friend, producing another flow of gratitude from the recipient. Your gifts continue to give......... Thank you.
So I was in a very fantastic barbershop group and I was a tenor and lead ~ I miss singing with them but where I live makes it prohibited ~ You and your guys are fantastic!
i just cried. I dont know you... but I, do in fact, love you
Thats cringe asf, but fair
Just lovely!
Beautiful!!! God bless you!
What a beautiful arrangement with poignant dissonances. You sing it so simply and sensitively. Gorgeous.
Thanks! I've always really enjoyed this arrangement and have been meaning to sing this tune for a while. It's a certain kind of relief to finally have it out there. :)
1:17 onwards makes me shiver

Yes! you replied to one of my comments a couple months ago saying you planned on singing this song and sure enough you did! Splendid work; i thoroughly enjoyed it!
My pleasure. If you'd like to tip this artist, you know how! :)
Oh WOW!! I just found you through Lindsay's channel, while going through her tutorials, and this is so incredible! I read comments for some really strange reason and a viewer had mentioned this collaboration. Anyway, I found the "Irish Blessing" song and just now sent it to my 18 year old son. His paternal grandparent's parents are from Ireland and my son is really proud of his heritage (?) Holy cow! I do not know why I had to explain all of that!! My apologies :-) Wishing you all the best and thank you!!
Loved it and especially that sweet creamy bass at the end.
Thank you! :)
nice song, makes me calm from this pandemic...
