But the guy who made this video should’ve had the sample play staccato or portato, which would’ve sounded much better and more like the real thing. It might not be officially notated that way, but it would make it sound much more like the actual pieces.
@@skipstream2 These pieces would sound magnificent if the StaffPad scores were adapted slightly more to the app’s capabilities (like using spiccato’s here and there instead of the legato repeat notes).
The Berlin patch seems to consistently have a more pronounced and resonant cello and bass sound, regardless of the applied dynamic. Those voices almost get one dynamic's worth of boost compared to the other patches.
@@edbuller4435 Judging by the dynamics written, I found Cinesamples to be the most even...Berlin had too many jumps in dynamics. Could also have been the way it's notated...not every library will react the same. This is not a perfect test for sure.
Spitfire is the worst. Compressed as hell. Staffpad stock seems to have too much reverb baked in. I 'felt' cinestrings, no feeling for the others. Forget these libraries, stick to sketching with staffpad and for realism switch to Kontakt.
It seems that none of the libraries are good with fast repetitions. All of them have the machine gun sound effect or a late on the re-articulation.

no reverb was added. the reverb there is the default reverb of the library.

I believe its how its used my friend, go listen to Nimrod Staffpad using spitfire strings. For me its blows any other library away. 👍
