The 2016 Democratic Convention will be held at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia July 25-28, 2016. Working in partnership with the Philadelphia Host Committee, the City of Philadelphia and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, our goal is to make this the most engaging, innovative and forward looking Convention in history. The 2016 Democratic National Convention will leverage technology to take the Convention experience well beyond the hall in an effort to engage more Americans than ever before in the event. With the birthplace ofAmerican Democracy as a backdrop, the 2016 convention in Philadelphia will highlight our shared Democratic values and help put the Democratic nominee on a path to victory.
The Democratic Convention is the formal nominating event for the Democratic candidates for President and Vice President. At the Convention, the Democratic Party also adopts the official Democratic Party platform as well as the rules and procedures governing party activities including the nomination process for presidential candidates in the next election cycle.

Regardless of gender and race, i'm voting for Hilary because it is just a statistical fact that a third party candidate can not win the election. Also, Trump must not win, so it is logical for me to vote Hilary. She is the only candidate that can beat him.

Michael Bloomberg should have been asked to edit that speech. It was long and dull, but then again, I have never been impressed with Obama's "oratory." He is a lecturer, not an orator. Bloomberg's speech was short and utterly damning. It is how a speech should be written and delivered. Obama acted like he was the nominee rather than the outgoing president. The speech should not have lasted more than a half-hour..

The great tragedy,of the Obama presidency,was that the fatal flaw of the American political structure was revealed,clearly.
That being,that due to the strong influence,of the slave southern states,at the time of our revolution,our country went with a political system that gave undue power to the minority,instead of the majority,having the right to win elections,and then put their programs into action,and let the voters,either ratify them or reject them in the next election.
Instead of the British model where,in elections,the winner forms a government and then institutes,it's policies promised in the campaign,here in America,a minority can thwart the will of the majority,leaving the winner only being able to put part of their programs in place,at best.
And by doing so in piecemeal and in only in parts,the full benefit of those programs promised,seldom are seen,and in fact are often failures,by putting them into force as such.
The result,has been president's recently have tried to put their policies into effect by presidential degrees,which encounter strong opposition,and are then easily reversed,by another president who believes,their wrong in the future.
Thus,in either case the people as voters seldom get to vote on the true direction of the nation.
Former president Obama was stopped in his tracks by this obstruction.
What was passed into law was just a partial part of his policies,that in the end didn't deliver the full measure of what was needed or should have been to become successful long time programs,to generate long time support for his programs.
And what he did by executive action,to get around this roadblock of obstruction in our political structure,only angered many and was then just reversed,by the next president.
Thus the people never had a real chance to vote on whether the full vision,of Obama.
Had they I am sure,the verdict would have been successful.
And America would have been a better,greater and more United country today.
Only on Free trade,and that would turn out to be a fatal mistake,in helping Trump win in 2016 was the former president wrong,in my view.
But he was a man of supreme,integrity,honesty,intellect.
He brought respect to the presidency,in every thing he did.
That he failed in the end was and history will show,due not to him but to that fatal weakness,in our political structure,due to the evil of slavery,that still effects and shadows our nation in so many ways,seen and unseen,to this very day.
