This has slowly healed my heartbreak from this anime This is the life and love ash and eiji deserved no matter what happened or happens to ash, eiji loves him no matter what and I think this is the true continuation of this story I believe Yut Lung rushed to his rescue and ash never passed the manga never happens and ash and eiji now live a joyous and happy life together for all eternity❤️🩹💛🖤
The "Not just for now, forever" reference to when Ash asked "for now only" in the anime/manga, made me cryyyyy I always wanted eiji to reply "not just for now, Ash, forever". He DID say forever in the manga but not in the anime. And here we're finally seeing it animated thanks to you, with a proposal too! Thank you so damn much, thank you, thank you, thank youuuuu! 😭❤

Especially since we get that theme of undying, eternal love even at the end of the story when Eiji says "my soul is always with you". "Always" is synonymous to forever. So this really suits this couple. I adore the way you incorporated this aspect to their relationship here and their proposal/marriage. I remember being 9 years old when I first began watching banana fish it was a beautiful and amazing story but now 13 years old watching this, you made it even more better than any other and I sincerely applaud and thank you for the continuous updates, translation, and wonderful story telling. I didn’t like how they ended up marrying. Their feeling as friends who care for each other was far more pure and innocent. I know of two best friends just like them who loved each other until death seperated them. There was romance between them and no kiss or sex. They were FREINDS just as how Eiji and Ash should have lived. This ruined the purpose of the whole story. The love between Ash and Eiji was true because no reward of sex was needed to satisfy either of them.
you can marry not have all of that. marriage is not just about sex. they loved each other canonically. It is confirmed btw. in manga eiji never got married or had a partner again. It literally depicts their love and devotion for each other. And if you feel just because two men who love each other, kiss or have sex but their love isnt “pure” anymore ur just homophobic. Sex is not a reward its never a bargain its a form of showing love. you are wrong about ur perspective of sex or queer love.
