Nicholas has Dad Phil’s gene’s and obviously has been working hard too! So nice to see the Collins men percussing together. Later in the show Nic plays piano while Phil sings ‘You Know What I Mean’ and it’s a wonderful moment between superbly talented father and son. Nicholas is obviously skilled like his Dad in multiple musical genres and I cannot wait for his sure to be successful future. Thanks for sharing this.
....how often would you be able to see a living legend Father creating and enjoying music with his own son,..how proud would he be ....Thank you Phil,..we grew up with your music,..
I would love to see Phil go through a whole bunch of physical therapy, PRP treatments for his joints, even his vocal cords, and get back on stage and behind those drums. He's not done yet. There are drummers still going in their 70s. It just pains me to see him unable to do what he used to do. I hope the years are kinder to me. 😪
I can’t find it either. It sounds great and looks more comfortable to play than a Cajon. I would buy one. Would like to find out more but so far can’t find a thing - maybe something specially made for him.
Because Phil can barely sing notes that are a little higher, they tuned the whole song down. Well, but he still can't sing his song. He is just too old. Retire, bro!
Thegrandman as a natural part of aging the vocal cords age too and they don’t have the same range as they did when they were more flexible and young. Phil ‘could’ certainly sing the same notes as in 2004 or even 1980 but he would be damaging his vocal cords and he (and I) definitely don’t want him to do that. He’d strain and it would be unnatural and potentially painful and his voice would not last as long. I’ve seen patients that have even ruptured their vocal cords attempting feats like that. No, instead Phil is out there showing what happens to all of us - age! Phil makes no excuses for what’s going on and doesn’t complain but is out doing what he does best and enjoys and is making indelible memories with Nicholas. God Bless him and I pray he’s able to do this as long as he desires. He sounds great and the alternative drumming (without having to hold a drumstick) is another way of compensating for some of his losses due to surgeries. Phil has an operation on his neck, back, left arm, and left hand and he is unable to grip with his left hand. For ‘Going Back ‘ he wanted to play drums himself so he had to tape the drumstick to his hand. Phil said he left it taped on sometimes between takes when going to the booth to listen (rather than spend the time and effort to take it off and reapply it) making him feel like Dr. Strangelove!
@@KellyBezz First of all. No he can not hit the same notes as in 1980. It is not just about damaging his vocal chords. It is physically impossible. And if you are one of the person who things, these half well sung notes are not hurting the song, that's up to you. Musically it is a bad performance.
Fitzibutzi The answer to this is simple, and applies to every human being on earth. You have to work with what you’ve got and the make the most of everything. As we all get older, we diminish and reduce in capability until we ultimately die. Phil’s range has reduced but the desire of his fans to see him perform hasn’t diminished in the slightest.
💙 FABULOUS!!!! 😍😍😍😍 I bet Phil couldn't be more prouder!! And to have all 3 drumming, FANTASTIC!!!🥰🥰🥰 OMG I'm in drummer heaven!!!
🥰🥰🥰

Been a huge fan of Phil Collins, since I first saw him with Genesis in Birmingham uk way back in 1981, the man is a Legend 👍😀

He has nerve damage from spinal surgery. That why he can’t play.

Maravilhoso!
His son is really good. Not Phil Collins good but he’s still young
Anyone know the name of the percussion instrument that Phil is playing? Can't find it on LPs website.

Genial! O gênio de volta ao palco
At 5:20 the instruments don’t sound as high as the ones in 2004

U or her ... why..
Un momento, como puede tocar si se supone que nunca más volvería a realizar esas actividades?
