Great interview. Richard did a great job, asked the perfect questions. Gino is a class act yet humble and gracious. I can appreciate his music even more in my later years....about the same age.
At 6, the first artists I listened to were Herb Albert, Brazill 66, Glen Campbell, and Tom Jones. Then the Carpenters, and Burt Bacharach . I later fell in love with Beach Boys when introduced to them late, at 14 in 75'. In 78-79 high school, heard Gino's hits and loved him and voice, but never heard more than the 3 hits. But had no idea how talented he actually was. Had an aunt who was a big band singer in the 40's, like Gino's dad. Fell in love with Brazilian pop jazz in the 90's hearing Basia, realized Lani Hall (Brazil 66) was who taught me to sing as a child. But singing along with Gino, is so enjoyable, and exhilarating, challenging. I'm so glad Gino didn't get overwhelmed with LA and the worldly stardom worship, God saved him from it. Instead has fans who truly appreciate his ability, all over the world. What more could a human ask for?
True with the exception of one community: African Americans love Gino. Chaka Khan’s former musical director Howard McCreary told me that Gino’s in the 70’s was the greatest music ever done. I think he knows what he’s talking about.
@@lesliehill332 I think he's too hip for some people. He walked away from the pop music machine, and didn't tour for 12 years, even though he still made records. He is one of the best voices on Earth, and his songwriting talent is genius.
This man means everything for me! His music makes my life so beautyfull. He brings the jazz in me and also to enjoy music and life. I am lucky to met him couple of times. Highlight my photos used for the CD and DVD Gino live at North Sea Jazz shall always connect me and Gino with eachother!❤️❤️❤️
Oh my God I love him l wish I could of been as bless as you were. To meet him before l leave this world is my dream. I've loved that since highschool and I still love today 2020 he's and amazing singer then and now. The man is a genius yet sensible and humble. Too bad he has never been appreciated in the US to a level comparable to his talent. Great interview.
Truly UNDERATED
One of my favourites - influenced my singing and musical taste for the past 30 years! Thank You Gino Vanelli!

Very well said!

What a humble, well spoken, intelligent artist. As if his music weren't charming enough, it's a pleasure just to hear his views.
Thanks for this super gift. It's always so nice to listen to a Gino interview!
Gino's music will 4ever resonate with me.
Oh, I bet he will go down in history as many great composers have done. Beethoven wasn't considered a legendary Master until much later
@@SnarkierThan-U-R The Gist of the Gemini was my introduction to his music. I was amazed with his use of the synthesizer.
My Guru! Gino's plethora of knowledge never fails to educate and inspire. Gino! Miss you, man!

Incredible singer, composer and arranger and doesn't hurt that he is soooooooo handsome!!!!
Gino's music is nothing
short of Sheer Class.
Very interesting interview
I love Gino. He Rocks the USA
It's amazing that Gino had to try so hard for record companies to get behind him, in those early days in NY. His talent was always so big!
At last, the full story of the first meeting/pitch to Herb @ A&M... fascinating !
amoo a Gino me encanta su musica
No wonder he has such great drummers.
Thanks Arte !
This interview tells the true-story/measure of a man!!!
Kewl . . . YOU ~ ROCK ! !
Have to go purchase "LIVE IN L.A.!!! A CD/DVD combo!!!!
Phenomenal concert! You can see it on YT.
VERY NICE
I'm so grateful for your insight and life advice. I think it will really help me, if I apply it the way I should, and put it into practice.
Too bad Gino lost the pulse of his music. Last good album was Brother to brother. After that he went down the hill
He didn't lose the pulse of HIS music. You did. And that's ok. He strives for his art. Not yours. And that's ok. Let it be.

@@MikeWalker Exactly. He has evolved in an amazing way, and is unique in that.
