for me I was in Paper2d so it was kinda hard to find out what to do but i was able to learn some stuff and was able to make the play button work without the tutorial guidance, and it worked, thanks, i just learned a bit
Really nice tutorial! On another Tutorial I watched they didn't explain the fact that you had to make a new map etc and responded to people who didn't know how to do that with "Too Bad". Thank you for properly explaining in your video how to do everything to people in a professional manner. I look forward to more of your content!
Good tutorial, well paced, only point i had to jump back though was it seemed you had to skip a bit of recording cause the second horizontal box's dimensions changed without any mention so i ended up getting confused for a couple secs
Tried a bit with the newest version of Unity and also newest tutorials - an hour later I rage-deleted it. This tutorial is 4 years old and it still translates perfectly to the newest version of UE4! On top of that you explained your steps so well that its no problem at all adding a "back" button on the options screen which closes the Options screen and transfers you safely back to the Main Menu screen :)

At 3:21, you skipped something or edited it out. It doesn't create the boxes the same with only what you've shown. What did you do in the edited out part?
I he clicked the horizontal box and moved it into place resizing it in the clipped out part. took me a second to figure out too. you can see the extra dotted lines after the cut
It’s a great tutorial (with the playback speed set to (0.5). It’s because he speaks so fast and does 20 things before I do one thing. Which gets really confusing and means I have to go back a phew seconds in the video a couple times in at the playback speed of 0.5 just to get what he is saying (sort of).
That happens because you lose the focus, if you delete in blueprint level of main menu the set input mode box should solve the problem, that works for me.
@JAMIE J at 6:25 use Set input mode UIOnly, that box makes you lose the focus when you start gameplay, to solve this problem you need to add a box blueprint "Set input mode game" in any part when you load the level of gameplay, for example in the event start of blueprint level

Brilliant video! Just wondering if anyone knows how to stop the button labels acting like regular text when they are clicked. The button behind the text works fine when clicked on, just not the text for the button label (it doesn't open anything, just highlights it or shows the cursor). I figured I could just change the z-order of the button to be on top of the button text, but there doesn't seem to be an option for that. Any ideas?

I have a problem. I did everything right, and it worked.... the first time. Then every time after that, it just instantly loaded the game when I clicked New Editor Window. Any way to fix this or ideas? Edit: I got it to work, but when I click play And the menu shows up, u can see my character in the background?
Just so people know, when he talks about the vertical box with the size box. What he doesnt tell you is that the horizontal box that those two are children of he changed the size X and size Y numbers. If you look they all were at 0 but in a cut he made size X and Y are now the listed as Size X: 1921.821899 Size Y: 659.518433 Later positions X and Y will change when you change anchors to center but Size X and Y will need to be changed. Overall this video was helpful but it glossed over important information and was every rushed. I had to keep rewinding the video back just to see what he did and pause it until I could catch up. My only complaint is that he cut out essential information that really messed with me for a few minutes until I noticed the almost unnoticeable change.

Hi. Your tutorial is very nice and easy to follow even for beginners. But when I press my "Play"-Button my Character is not able to move any more. No problems if I load the level in the editor. Does somebody know what the problem is? Thanks!

I just tried this tutorial using the first person mode. It loads the second map but it's stuck. I can't move.

It's in project settings, you can change default levels in the maps section

i did it the same way and it disabled my player controller even after making it enable input putting in a spawner and setting it to Player 0
