Memories! How can this be 14 years ago?!?!? I remember hating their new style at the time and missing Geri. Now, I actually really like this era and think the music was actually well ahead of its time. And who would've thought a reunion tour would have happened just 7 years later with all 5?? :D SPICE GIRLS FOREVER!

You can tell that Victoria was really inspired by Aaliyah's look at this point in time, this video was filmed just before Aaliyah died and at the time she was really trendy and was really popular and a lot of artists were copying her style. They even played Try Again during Victoria's parts.

I miss all of those garage beats from the late 90s' and early 00s' playing in the background.

This is not a UK garage production. Its a Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins production.

+JonJoseph Price He's not talking about the Spice Girls' songs. There are beats of UK Garage in the background if you listen to. For example at 03:03

Wow, Mel C did not want to be here at this point, she couldn't care less lol she was on autopilot, just doing the motions

well, at that time she wasn't in her best moment, she suffered eating desorders, depression and alcohol problems so...was really difficult that she didn't want to stay with them anymore; The problems between she and Mel b were in a high level; And finally, She was tired in different ways; If you recognize that she was a success solo singer with a different vibe in her music; Was the end of an Era.

This album was the death of them. I personally really liked it but they hadn't transitioned from the bubble gum pop fan base to a more adult one slowly enough. There were millions upon millions of kids and Tweens whose musical taste hadn't caught up with them yet and they just didn't get this sound yet. It's a real shame as it was actually a really good album.

ageordieboy I really appreciate it now, I never even knew there was an entire album that came out after Goodbye, I was heartbroken when Geri left and I guess I moved on to NSync, But the SpIce Girls are my girls forever.

it just wasnt Spice Girls. People didnt want R&B. Geri always said she would've never went on board with this sound she wasnt a fan. They were a pure pop girl band

"Let Love Lead the Way" is by far one of the most depressing songs to listen through.

Mutsor Tima nah, Goodbye is way, way more depressing.

    • @DraPaulaFlor
      @DraPaulaFlor 5 ปีที่แล้ว

well, There are three: 1) Viva Forever (last song of Geri) 2) Goodbye (About geri's departure) 3) Let the love lead the way (If you pay attention was a "general goodbye"; for example: listen to MelanieC, she was saying "bye, was beautiful with be with you but it's enough for me".

Yeah this was shorting after she seen a doctor about her eating habits and the doctor told her to not worry about the weight gain and just try to eat regularly.

unhappy, unhealthy, confused, she was really hurted with all the things she was feeling and living: her health was in damage. MelanieC is a sensible woman and she felt terrible when Geri Left the group cuz something crushed and was broken but even when she was less implicated, was a really good professional and colleague with the other 3. At that time the luck of them were done.

I love this album, I love these songs. But honestly, these are not the spice girls anymore. At that time, Melanie C was not happy being a spice and did not care with the group. If the Forever album had been released properly, would have been a success. Not so successful as the first two albums, but still a success. Today there are only memories and nothing more.

Well at the time the group was kinda switching to a "new sound" (like everyone else). In the late 90s/early 00s all music genres were kinda joining with each other and the "hip hop" sound was starting to blend with a lot of pop & r&b mainstream songs. With alot of artists this new sound was successful but with others... not so much. They were still the spice girls but in different packaging.

What do you mean released properly. It was released worldwide, they had the best two songs released as a double a side, had two high budget videos for it, they performed on TOTP, CD/UK, National Lottery, TOTP Germany etc. Did Interviews worldwide. It's not like it was a low budget release. They were also always in the press because of the battle with Westlife, it's not like people did not know they had a new album out. It dropped out of the top 30 after two weeks because people did not buy it but it's not like it did not get promotion.

Melanie c negative attitude back then towards the group did cost her a lot...press turned on her and imo her second album was a failure because of that...she lost a lot

@@jayjohn2602 between 1999 and 2001 Mel C said alot of horrible things about Virgin Records… she kept bitting the hand that fed her.. she was so bitter towards the media and her record label. that is why she flopped as a soloist

They all look tired here, I love Spice Girls all together but actually I'm happier if they did things that really makes them happy, but holler and let love lead the way is still a good song as they always did.
