I REMEMBER YOUR DAD AS WELL AS THE FAMILY, I WOULD ATTEND EMANUEL CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST, FIRST ON POST ST BEFORE IT WAS DEMOLISHED FOR URBAN RENEWAL MY GRANDMOTHER WAS A MISSIONARY THERE SIS GATSON AND MY .MOTHER ATTENDED AS A TEENAGER BEFORE I WAS BORN, SISTER RUTH LANGSTON, ( BABY SISTER) AND MOTHER WERE VERY CLOSE, AND YOUR FATHER THEY ALL GREW UP TOGETHER AS TEENAGERS, AND AT THE FIRST EMANUEL UNDER THE DIRECTION OF BISHOP EE HAMILTON SR .WOULD OFTEN GO TO THE HOME BISHOP HAMILTON SR BECAUSE MOTHER HAMILTON AND MY GRANDMOTHER WERE BOTH PRAYER WARRIORS, AND HELD SEVERAL SHUT IN SERVICES, IN THE CHURCH WHERE THEY WOULD HAVE A FEW WHO INTER THE CHURCH AND FOR THREE OR MORE DAYS WOULD FAST AND PRAY.... MY GRANDMOTHRE WOULD BRING ONLY A BAR OF IVORY SOAP AND WASHCLOTH LARGE BOTTLE OF LISTORINE MOUTH WASH, AND CLEAN UNDER GARMENTS AND A TOWEL, AND THEY WOULD SING PRAISE THE LORD FOR HOURS ON END AND REST SLEEP FOR MAYBE A FEW HOURS THEN REPEAT THE PROCESS ALL OVER AGAIN, FOR SEVERAL DAYS I WAS YOUNG AND MOTHER ONLY LET ME STAY OVER NIGHT WITH MY GRANDMOTHER ,AND HAD TO LEAVE THE NEXT DAY BUT REMEMBER IT AS IF IT WAS YESTERDAY, I AS TEENAGERS I SUNG IN THE YOUTH CHOIR AND DARRYL DURHAM PLAYED PIANO AND ORGAN SIS LANGSTON SOMETHINGS PLAYED THE PIANO, MY MOTHER PLAYED PIANO TOO. I REMEMBER HOW GIFTED EVETTE WAS AS A SOLO SINGER AND I ALSO LENARD AND MANY OF THE OLDER AND Elders like elder holis, elder dorn elder hodge and elder Houston, many have gone on to be with the lord and I'm praying and believing and asking the lord save and fill me with the precious holy ghost so I can see them again in glory, last Sunday I went back to EMANUEL for a visit and pastor yul dorn is the pastor and knows the history of that great church and is carrying on the ministry that your grandfather started so many years ago,
