  • Artificial Intelligence is HERE.
    According to a study by Gartner, by 2023, Artificial Intelligence will have replaced 5 million jobs worldwide. Just as the internet and the personal computer that came in previous generations, AI is going to change just about EVERYTHING.
    It will change the way we work; but more important, it will change the jobs that will be left available for all of us to do.
    In this video, I'll take a look at 5 jobs that are most at risk of being replaced by AI.

    I wonder what will be automated first - software dev or finance/accounting jobs

    Gotta disagree on the legal assistant one. Legal assistants are usually the ones jumping from task to task, coordinating with counsel, clients, vendors, other attorneys, etc. and dealing with the logistics of filing in multiple jurisdictions. Legal assistants will stick around until some AGI takes literally everyone's jobs.
    The reading, drafting, and sifting through information is almost all done by young/early-career attorneys, so that's going to be interesting....I think the legal field will survive fine for a while even after the lower ranks of law firms are hollowed out by automation. But when all the old partners die and no youngins were properly trained because the "easy" stuff that builds your core knowledge was automated away, there's going to be a weird expertise gap...

    I remember the movie Escape from New York. Dystopian society seperated from others. AI is all about greed. Companies want efficiency with huge cost savings thus they introduce AI. In the end normal or lower end people gets displaced and hunkered in one corner eventually totally seperated. Serves these low life right? Perhaps but in the end as Yoda says it : “Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.” .......which will lead to uprising. A messed up society is no good for everyone.
    Stop AI? Definately not but it must work hand to hand. AI must be tasked to find solutions for the social problems they started. We keep forgetting, AI is not sentient. They do what we tell them to do. It is the humans behind the AI that worries me.

      Im sure this is how people felt about the industrial revolution(s), seeing machines do your days job in 5 minutes with 99.9% precision must have been daunting.
      The fact remains that the jobs at risk are mainly in the administrative/corporate careers. Which was ALWAYS a bubble waiting to pop. There are FAR too many people working jobs that produce NOTHING.
      If your entire administrative set of tasks can be done by an algorithm then frankly your job was always pretty futile

    What about video editors?

    • @RichardWalls
      @RichardWalls  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not quite there yet. There are certain parts of the video editing process that can be more automated, but still far from not needing human intervention. Hard to capture someone's unique style and preference w/ AI at this time.

    Up to now, as technology as made work more efficient, instead of workers having to work fewer hours and earn more per hour, capitalist simply increased profit margins. Maybe with AI the majority of us will finally be able to take advantage of the benefits of automated work.

    • @RichardWalls
      @RichardWalls  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Aaron - agree. Anyone who learns to adopt the technology will have a major advantage!

      The systems available to the public are heavily censored and restricted according to the companies who trained the model or designed the transformers and unless these capabilities become local and not reliant on massive cloud computing... They won't really be much use to the public compared to the capability of those with unrestricted systems.

    well, i think concept artist job line is already dead. my brother as a game designer already integrated midjourney to his workflow to spit out any game asset that he wants withing minutes (after training the AI to his needs ofc). normally he would have to search the net upside down to find anything he remotely wants. at one point human made art will be percieved as something like a vintage, a retro concept. like expensive handmade items... another example, my girlfriend who works as a creative director, would sometimes get some freelance logo creation orders etc. now they are all gone. wonder why.

    I just want to know one thing: Where will all these unemployed people go? Will they just take it and go live under a bridge, or will they rise up and smash the machines that took their jobs?
