Went climbing there years ago and stayed in the lighthouse building. A storm blew in and we sat having beers in the top of the lighthouse as the heavens opened up. Amazing
I lived in Mortehoe near Woolacombe during the 90s and went to Lundy a few times. Such a special and beautiful place. During that time, Lundy were advertising for a mechanic to work and live on the island. My dad applied for the job but never got an interview as there were hundreds of applicants. I now live in South Devon but will visit Lundy again someday. Thanks for the video. Much appreciated.
Lovely stuff, time lapse clouds looked beautiful. Last time I camped on Lundy, we has a force 8 gale that blew my tent down and I spent the rest of the night in the tavern. made for a memorable trip!
Thank you . It really is a special place . If you want to escape the world and enjoy some solitude and simple life for few days it's perfect . It's barren and remote but beautiful. I highly recommend going for a few days . The day trip isn't long enough you only get a few hours there . But if you want to stay you need to book about a year in advance .
Beautiful Island but best stay well clear of the Seals....view them from a distance through binoculars if possible...the Seal(s) in the film were clearly disturbed by being too close...they have wasted so much energy being flushed back to the safety of the sea. They can also injure themselves as one clearly had an injury to its left nostril. Best viewed from afar next time Chris. Nice film though.
Thanks Gareth. I was mind full of that seal. I spent about 30 minutes with him trying not to disturb him. kept my distance and circled around and down wind .I was probably about 30ft as close as i got in that last shot. Had a big zoom lens on which is how i got the close up shots. But yes totally agree with you. I think he herd me in the end and maybe caught my sent.
