    sorry for the noob question, but how in heavens name does that version of the deck win? I mean, if you dont sideboard in the angels you only have 4 factories and and a fireball to deal dam. it just feels very thin. Or at least super unforgiving to play. I've seen versions of this that run similarly (usually there is always at least a few creatures other than the lands, though) but mostly we see at least a few bolts for a late game mirror -> bolt win con or something. Long story short; how does this build typically win? : )

      Haha no need to apologize mate- I certainly get what you mean. On paper it looks so tame and non aggressive.
      It’s because the deck is all about setting up the situation where he has control of the flow of the game. Once he has that it doesn’t matter what his kill con is. It could be a prodigal sorcerer if he had the patience.
      So every card in the deck revolves around getting to a position where opponents hand is empty and the deck has an active draw engine and both counter magic and removal in hand. Drawing more cards than the opponent each turn makes him able to block or remove his opponents every attempt at getting out of the squeeze. And the opponent is in top deck mode so doesn’t have many chances anyway.
      So a factory is the most lean build as it also provides mana in the early game. Often enough the deck doesn’t even start to attack before he has won the game. Your Life total is not relevant when in combat with the deck. You can be at 50 life and it wouldn’t matter once he has you in his grip.
      The deck is like an anaconda slowly curling around the opponent 😨

    you can't sac a black vise to the gate, unless you animate the black vise with i.e. a titania's song, you can only sac one creature, not 3 tetrivites at once..

      Thanks so much for the clarification. That will teach me to actually read the darn card and not just assume I remember what it does lol
      Yeah you’re absolutely right it’s a creature sac and not and artifact sac for phyrexian gate. I see that now.

    Is it called parfait bc of the multiple kinds of ice (winter orb and icy manipulator)?

    • @RaVNeFLoK
      @RaVNeFLoK  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a very good theory actually. I think the reason could be something like that. There’s a cold dessert made with whipped cream, eggs and fruit that’s called a parfait right?
      Perhaps this cold and icy dessert is indeed the reason for the decks name with icy and winter orbs. 🧁 🤗

      if often simply refers to ice cream made with eggs and whipped cream@@RaVNeFLoK

    Dear friend i know the video is old, but can you identify for me what are those two cards in the sideboard between the Cyclopean Tomb and the Drain Life in the Parfait deck? It's hard to guess. Thanks!

      Oh there are two Pestilence. I finally figure.

      @@martinksk88 i was just about to write that. Yeah right you are it is indeed 2 pestilence. Likely to stop aggro decks maybe - and it does provide another way to burn the opposing player if parfait is ahead on life. :)
