For those of us who played the OG on ps2 we didn't get to experience the roxas fight. That fight, backstory, and music are some of the best in gaming history. I'm so glad I was able to experience it on this collection since it was Japan only.
thats not true. you can totally experience the fight on the final mix ps2. the only version of the game where you cant fight him is, as you said is the OG ps2 version. it was never japan exclusive.

The funny thing is, you didn't have to complete the songs a second time in Atlantica. You just had to start them, and immediately leave, and it'd count for journal completion
You made this 1hour fly by so fast with how fun it was to watch and watching you go through all that was quite a throwback lingering will on critical mode took me a week before I finally got the win.

So yeah. This is one of my proudest platinum trophies I've ever earned. Because I did it one run on critical. My fuck, the game was a challenge. That being said, the first half of the game was a walk in the park. It was the Roxas fight that really changed me, as a human. I learned how import reflect was. But I'd argue, THIS IS HOW YOU DO A HARD MODE. The game makes you hit like an absolute tank, but so do your enemies. Really great high skill ceiling. Keep up the good work brother, I fucking love yoir videos
Yeah, I definitely am not great at the mini games in the Kingdom Hearts series. Jimminy's Journal took me a while in this game. Props to you for doing everything on Critical. I beat the story on Critical, but did everything else basically on Beginner. I still never thought I would beat the Lingering Will. He took me a while.
For the trophy 13 anti form, you can also equip the keyblade you have after beating Roxas, and the passive for that keyblade give you 50% chance to transform in final form and 50% anti form (when you don't have already final form) and 100% chance for anti form if you have already final form

Ive bought the KH 1.5/2.5 bundle on epic 2 days ago. After watching longplays and others play it for so long I decided it was finally time to play it myself. It was also an honor to be in the stream when you beated LW.
For that 13 anti-form changes, you could've used the 2 become 1 keyblade that you get from Roxas. It makes it so when you transform you either get final or anti-form, but when you unlock final form, it only gives you anti-form when you don't select final form.
many of those mini games seem explicitly designed to be done as you progress through the story...So for the hill climb and the hades challenge doing them at a lower level with access to less skills would make them easier...usually the case when side content gets more difficult when done not in progression order.

Roxas was the hardest fight for me. Idk why, but grinding in crit mode let me button mash the whole game up to that point. It was the first time that I had to use any kind of strategy.
it was not that bad (for me anyway) all it took was to learn the attacks and taking big risks but i did have to use a "cheese strat" against lingering will but you beat him without using one!? woah, that is some dedication, congratulations 🎉

The fist herc uses doesn't auto-eliminate you, there's a point counter that goes down when you get hit, if it hits 0 you lose, it's right next to the score counter in the top left in every arena match that uses the gimmick.
If you want rage inducing platinum bbs.. three characters 3 stories and you have to fight the super bosses and complete things including ice cream beats (beat rhythm minigames that is fast paced and one trophy is getting a perfect score on all songs with one character) , stickers, rubble racing (kingdom hearts Mario kart), the many command boards (ripoff monopoly with rage inducing of itself mechanics and support members you roll by chance that can either help you or make you go from first to last place), and the mirage arena (area where you have to recomplete all command boards and rumble races along with challenges and secret bosses of their own). Also did I forget to mention that each character has there own journal that you need to complete for a trophy per character meaning you have to complete the all rumble races and command boards 2 times per character. You also have dlinks you have to max out with each character and constructing ice cream. This was a grind but worth getting it. If you wanna try this then just get ready to rage and good luck.
The trick to leveling wisdom form is do it after defeating Roxas before entering the castle. Unlock final form in memory’s skyscraper by just going back and forth to brink of despair to get your gauges back. Once u get final the room where a ton of shadows spawn will still spawn a ton of shadows. Makes leveling wisdom stupid easy. Valor and final are the most grind intensive for sure
Props to you I just recently got the platinum myself and lingering was such a pain but in the end any challenge can be overcomed by anyone willing enough to try it
I know im a month late but a tip for getting antiform 13 times for anyone trying to do it, if you go into the timeless river and go into the room where the black whole swallows furniture, you're actually guaranteed anti form EVERY time you transform

I spent many hours against lingering will. And when I finally beat him. and went on my day. o ly to when I was gonna go to bed I realised I forgot to save.
Apparently the game has a hidden Anti-form counter that goes up each time you use a drive form. Activating anti-form subtracts a little from the counter. Transforming into final form however subtracts a lotfrom the hidden counter. You will never transform into anti-form if you use final form. I dont remember the threshold number at which you transform. But knowing this information will allow you to sort of predict when you will transform. Edit: so i just looked online it goes: Counter goes 0-4: a 0% chance of activation Counter goes 5-9: a 10% chance of activation Counter goes 10+: a 25% chance of activation Using Valor, Wisdom, Master, or Limit adds 1 Using Anti-form subtracts 5 in the final mix (the version he is playing) and 4 in the original Using Final form subracts 10 Gaining a new form except final form resets the counter to 0 Using a drive form when a party member is forced/not present/unconscious adds 0 There are certain points in the game that are multipliers for the percent chance you activate anti-form. These are as follows: Mission battles (where your command box is outlined red) are x2 Pete, Hydra, Barbossa and Hades boss battles are x0 Battles involving non party allies (I.E. Hercules) are x0 The Organization XIII boss battles are x5 And the first Amored Xemnas boss is x10 Information: kingdomhearts.fandom.com/wiki/Anti_Form
13:00 actually, if you equip the keyblade with the ability "light & darkness" that you get from the roxas fight it will force anti form as long as you don't attempt to enter final form
After watching much more of it, you could've got the platinum much quicker and a little easier had you just multi tasked and picked up or worked on specific trophies as you went through the game. And its not hindsight, after playing the game a lot growing up I knew how to best handle the list when I saw it. Just gotta apply some critical thinking skills

Bro I know your pain lol 😂 when I was a kid I got up to fighting Sephiroth and this was on easy and I gave cuz his health bar glitched on me like 10 ish years later or so when the remake came out I got it decided hey crustal mode sounds fun and a great idea!!! Played through got to Sephiroth and beat him now I just gotta finish the last of the end game bosses
Xaldin is specifically hard cause he's almost impossible to guard or reflect, his air shield if close enough with trigger the guard or reflect just for him to throw out his spears and kill you instantly, along with the jump command putting you right in his air shield if you don't use it on the specifically correct attack for it.

I wish that the timer on how long you played would still go even after a game over. Would love to know how long I spent exactly on him. I spent months (with breaks) until I beat him.
By the way. Herc isn’t a one-shot kill. Your point counter in the upper left during that tournament is counting down how many times total you can get hit. You died because the hit counter went from 16 to 0.
sorry i know way too much about kh2 so here things for anyone watching this to improve your own plat hunt -12:25 i see this footage and he should just have equipped two become one to force anti form easier (thanks final mix) -about the leveling, the smarter way would have been to hunt the synthesis log BEFORE the leveling, as all the enemy killing gives you exp -doing atlantica and 100 acre wood before beating the game means you dont gotta beat the game a 2nd time also NEVER PAUSE IN ATLANTICA its an instant fail if you do -the "perform again" goals can be cleared by starting and quitting the song -For the titan cup goals if you are in low hp stitch also plays the ukulele, so you dont have to spam it yourself, a bit risky but usable. -regarding anti form and demyx, go in final form before trying to challenge him. entering final form reduces your anti points so you have less of a chance to get anti at all if you are in final you can also fuck up the demnyx clones -magic also counts as a finisher for purposes of boss killing, people often forget that and while it isnt something i see missing in the video i still want to bring it up as a tip for lingering will and bosses in general. bosses have a thing called revengevalue. that revenge value is for bosses to, under normal circumstances, not be infinitely comboed. without getting into details its just "if you do the same combos, the boss breaks out at the same time" so keep that in mind.
If you are going to plat this, there is an easier way to be antiform 13 times. Just equip 2 become 1 on base sora. Then before going into castle, go back to area before, transform, then go back to before castle and repeat
To quickly explain what happened with Demyx; Org13 fights actually have a 4x multiplier on the chance of going into anti-form. Only really becomes a problem against Demyx in the data battles because he's the only one we really use a form other then Final, which actually lowers the anti-form counter rather then rasing it like the other forms.
Watching you play through some of this hurt, ive been speedrunning level 1 crit for a long ass time on different consoles. Seeing you brutally push through some of those data orgs while im screaming about using limits or final form fire is hilarious. congrats on the plat tho!
that's simple to understand if Zexion has you in his book you can't kill him, you have to release yourself first and then use a Finsicher it's not that hard and definitely not a change in the Rules other bosses have this as well ( Barbossa )
Oh my god... i beated a half o cave of remembrance whn there was second visit to Hollow Bastion but didnt have glide back then. That explains the DAMAGE of enemies 😅
52:40 the reason you couldn't break out of his book form is because you had too many combo pluses and the reason you couldn't break out during the finsiher is because he was in the middle of his desperation move (DM) but once his DM was over the first hit you gave him caused the finisher to register allowing you to break out of the book world. EDIT: After watching more into the video its definitely jank wtf I played through KH2 more times than I care to count and have dozens of videos of me doing the org fights and never seemed to have had this much trouble with Zexion that's just weird :O
Actually, it’s not inconsistent at all. During that specific meteor attack, you cannot break out, however the game will still count any finisher you do during that time. Either way, a single reflect would have broken him out of all of this without any hassle whatsoever.
Hoo boy chat didn't teach him duck flare better reflect tricks or even drive form to get out of a pinch or solo trinity limit on sephiroth juice incase he uses heartless angel and you cant reach he did use items so i give it a B-
Yea this is the only game i didn't play i watched someone else play it and that was my cousin and i watched him break his tv when he fought the lingering will. It wasn't until this year that i tried KH. I beat the first game and second game but i havent beaten critical mode yet

Seems like he forgot that he can also die to running out of points, which Herc seems to just find anything less than maximum as a small and cute amount for himm to yoink 38:15 oof your Anti points were too high and you didn't reset them by running into a random fight and transforming there in order to reset the points. The only problem but also upside to Anti points is that as long as you transform outside a battle (or in other words if your menu is blue) the points don't matter and you won't ever turn Anti. That's how I grind out Wisdom in TR, enter Mickey's house, transform without moving, then enter combat

Kh2 ain't bad for plat. For me bbs and and recom are the worst ones
Kh 2 is actually fairly easy to get the plat especially since crit has too many bonus abilities that helps lessen the grinds

Kingdom Hearts 2 is one of my favorite games. I have played it so many times. I was really happy to make it my 200th Platinum trophy in March 2022.

As a long time fan of KH that usually played them on normal. Playing them on crit really changed my perspective, especially with KH3.
I spent many hours against lingering will. And when I finally beat him. and went on my day. o ly to when I was gonna go to bed I realised I forgot to save.
Apparently the game has a hidden Anti-form counter that goes up each time you use a drive form. Activating anti-form subtracts a little from the counter. Transforming into final form however subtracts a lotfrom the hidden counter. You will never transform into anti-form if you use final form. I dont remember the threshold number at which you transform. But knowing this information will allow you to sort of predict when you will transform.
Edit: so i just looked online it goes:
Counter goes 0-4: a 0% chance of activation
Counter goes 5-9: a 10% chance of activation
Counter goes 10+: a 25% chance of activation
Using Valor, Wisdom, Master, or Limit adds 1
Using Anti-form subtracts 5 in the final mix (the version he is playing) and 4 in the original
Using Final form subracts 10
Gaining a new form except final form resets the counter to 0
Using a drive form when a party member is forced/not present/unconscious adds 0
There are certain points in the game that are multipliers for the percent chance you activate anti-form. These are as follows:
Mission battles (where your command box is outlined red) are x2
Pete, Hydra, Barbossa and Hades boss battles are x0
Battles involving non party allies (I.E. Hercules) are x0
The Organization XIII boss battles are x5
And the first Amored Xemnas boss is x10

13:00 actually, if you equip the keyblade with the ability "light & darkness" that you get from the roxas fight it will force anti form as long as you don't attempt to enter final form

Good stuff, great game. IMO you really should've leveled the drive forms as you were playing. Their abilities are so helpful in fights
After watching much more of it, you could've got the platinum much quicker and a little easier had you just multi tasked and picked up or worked on specific trophies as you went through the game. And its not hindsight, after playing the game a lot growing up I knew how to best handle the list when I saw it. Just gotta apply some critical thinking skills

Xaldin is specifically hard cause he's almost impossible to guard or reflect, his air shield if close enough with trigger the guard or reflect just for him to throw out his spears and kill you instantly, along with the jump command putting you right in his air shield if you don't use it on the specifically correct attack for it.

By the way. Herc isn’t a one-shot kill. Your point counter in the upper left during that tournament is counting down how many times total you can get hit. You died because the hit counter went from 16 to 0.

-12:25 i see this footage and he should just have equipped two become one to force anti form easier (thanks final mix)
-about the leveling, the smarter way would have been to hunt the synthesis log BEFORE the leveling, as all the enemy killing gives you exp
-doing atlantica and 100 acre wood before beating the game means you dont gotta beat the game a 2nd time also NEVER PAUSE IN ATLANTICA its an instant fail if you do
-the "perform again" goals can be cleared by starting and quitting the song
-For the titan cup goals if you are in low hp stitch also plays the ukulele, so you dont have to spam it yourself, a bit risky but usable.
-regarding anti form and demyx, go in final form before trying to challenge him. entering final form reduces your anti points so you have less of a chance to get anti at all if you are in final you can also fuck up the demnyx clones
-magic also counts as a finisher for purposes of boss killing, people often forget that and while it isnt something i see missing in the video i still want to bring it up
as a tip for lingering will and bosses in general. bosses have a thing called revengevalue. that revenge value is for bosses to, under normal circumstances, not be infinitely comboed. without getting into details its just "if you do the same combos, the boss breaks out at the same time" so keep that in mind.

If you are going to plat this, there is an easier way to be antiform 13 times. Just equip 2 become 1 on base sora. Then before going into castle, go back to area before, transform, then go back to before castle and repeat

To quickly explain what happened with Demyx; Org13 fights actually have a 4x multiplier on the chance of going into anti-form. Only really becomes a problem against Demyx in the data battles because he's the only one we really use a form other then Final, which actually lowers the anti-form counter rather then rasing it like the other forms.
yeah I was playing blind for the most part so I only got a partial sense of why it was such an issue but you explained it well.
Watching you play through some of this hurt, ive been speedrunning level 1 crit for a long ass time on different consoles. Seeing you brutally push through some of those data orgs while im screaming about using limits or final form fire is hilarious. congrats on the plat tho!
that's simple to understand if Zexion has you in his book you can't kill him, you have to release yourself first and then use a Finsicher it's not that hard and definitely not a change in the Rules other bosses have this as well ( Barbossa )

Oh my god... i beated a half o cave of remembrance whn there was second visit to Hollow Bastion but didnt have glide back then. That explains the DAMAGE of enemies 😅
52:40 the reason you couldn't break out of his book form is because you had too many combo pluses and the reason you couldn't break out during the finsiher is because he was in the middle of his desperation move (DM) but once his DM was over the first hit you gave him caused the finisher to register allowing you to break out of the book world.
EDIT: After watching more into the video its definitely jank wtf I played through KH2 more times than I care to count and have dozens of videos of me doing the org fights and never seemed to have had this much trouble with Zexion that's just weird :O
Actually, it’s not inconsistent at all. During that specific meteor attack, you cannot break out, however the game will still count any finisher you do during that time. Either way, a single reflect would have broken him out of all of this without any hassle whatsoever.
Mind you, that doesn’t make Zexion not any less annoying at times with certain moves such as repeat meteors.
Hoo boy chat didn't teach him duck flare better reflect tricks or even drive form to get out of a pinch or solo trinity limit on sephiroth juice incase he uses heartless angel and you cant reach he did use items so i give it a B-

Yea this is the only game i didn't play i watched someone else play it and that was my cousin and i watched him break his tv when he fought the lingering will. It wasn't until this year that i tried KH. I beat the first game and second game but i havent beaten critical mode yet

38:15 oof your Anti points were too high and you didn't reset them by running into a random fight and transforming there in order to reset the points. The only problem but also upside to Anti points is that as long as you transform outside a battle (or in other words if your menu is blue) the points don't matter and you won't ever turn Anti. That's how I grind out Wisdom in TR, enter Mickey's house, transform without moving, then enter combat
