Good day from Ontario. Yes yesterday it was about 90. My asthma felt it. A neighbour told me yrs. ago put in plastic feed bag & drive over them. Right now pop cans are .70 Thanks I would be in house too with that temp.
I do have a nematic can crusher, a few of the can's in that load were crushed, I need to find a good place to set the cage where I can access it with the tractor and crush all the can's, I may get 300 to 400 lbs. in it.
I stumbled across ur video. I noticed that u whistle when u say words with the letter s in them. It's so nice to hear that again. My grandfather did the same thing when he was alive.❤😢
ok, I guess I could take that as a complement and say Thank You. glad I could help to bring back good memories for you, that is what I tell my wife, is to do things for the grand kids to make memories for them to remember, like a candy dish or cookie jar always full for them. my grandmother always had cake ready, thanks for stopping by
I wanted to camp and fish after I retired. I didn't want to buy an RV because it was an expensive and troublesom thing to do. I did however buy a 15 year old ome for only a few thousand, and using it for a camping trip here in Oklahoma is fantastic. But as Steve says, Don't but an RV. I add if its new and you never owned one before. LOL
yes, they are way over priced, I think most of our fishing will be day trips, but we plan to camp some, short stays, 2 or 3 days. some of the city lakes have good camp ground pricing for seniors, I got a 6 x 12 cargo trailer to keep the camping gear in and plan to put an AC unit in it and use it to camp and sleep in, and I can haul a 12 foot jon boat in it. I plan to fix it up soon and I still need to get a good 12' jon boat. I am working on a 3.9 outboard that will work great for a small boat
had a scrap yard tell me that they did not accept crushed cans, that they did not weigh as much as cans that were not crushed because there was less air inside. took my cans elsewhere and never went back.
lol. should have asked them how much air weighs, and told them that there is about a mile of air stacked on top of the scale. and ask them to remove it before weighing your scrap
I am thinking of putting the can cage where I can pick it up with the tractor and fill it with crushed can's, see how much it will weigh, it may take a few years to fill
we came back yesterday, the third, wife was tired and granddaughter was not feeling all that great, but I did have a good time, got a little sunburnt Saturday so I stayed out of the sun on Sunday, still enjoyed the time away
I had 10 smash bags of cans in my apartment life they're like 240 lb something and I made $162 not bad for recycling cans in the apartment life because I tried to do that on my side job for extra money which I am trying to save it and build up that can money for good reasons
A fan of the show here coming from Wichita Kansas last time I took a load of cans in was 6/15/23 and it was paying $0.55 a pound I had 142 pounds and I came out to be $78.10 not really too much of a difference two different states price on cans most of my scrap business is cans I just want to say good job keep doing what you doing
so if I had a 16 foot trailer full with a 7 foot roof it would be worth the time and fuel to take them to another state to cash them in for the .05 deposit. but could I do that to someone, make them count that many can's. lol
Nope. They have to be from the area and have printed on them that there is a deposit for them in the state you are going to turn them in. Otherwise it's illegal. It's something like a $25,000 fine otherwise
so the scrappers are paying for the new bailer, they will get a lot more weight into the train cars now and save money on shipping, I remember a time when you always had a line at the payout counter
with bottle redemption you pay for the bottle or can upfront so all you are doing is getting your money back, it is a good idea to keep the litter down, and I think more states will start doing it someday
Here in Maine we have a .05 redemption on cans and plastic drink bottles, and .15 on glass/plastic liquor bottles, and the amount of them that get thrown away into the regular trash is insane. @@Okiescrapper
@mountdesertrock as a kid in Washington State they had a deposit on soda bottles, and we would find what we could and take them to the store for pocket change, candy money, I would be good if they did that in every state, may cut down on the amount going into the landfill.
Absolutely agree sir, even at .05 a can I believe it works out to be $1.75/pound, just another way to look at it and compare it to scrap value.@@Okiescrapper
they do take up a lot of room for the weight, I need to build a 7 foot tall cage on a trailer, that would make it easier, but I would need a ladder or platform to get to the top to dump them in

Excellent can run Allen thanks for sharing this six stars brother
Thank you, Joseph, I may crush my can's and see how many pounds I can get in that cage, it may take a few years to fill
Thanks for sharing your can trip, I enjoyed it and I'm glad you are happy with the outcome👍
Thank you, I may see how much I can get into the cage If I crush all the can's
Yay u went to my scrap yard today
they had a good price on can's, a lot of yards don't do can's any more, one place in valley brook is paying 35 cents a lb.
Cool Also I'm All Pop Tag was rid aluminum can And Collection Pop Tags
First time I have seen them shred cans. Our yard crushes. Thanks for sharing with us.
I think that machine crushes them and throughs them to the front of the trailer
Great job today so many pop cans
thank you
damn good fab ! Never throw away bed frames

@@Okiescrapper yes it was a complement
Nice little haul in.
thank you
Wow! Great can haul.. I have a similar cage!!

I just took off 133 pounds when they was 40 cents a pound should of waited till the prices got better great video buddy!!
Here in New Brunswick CANADA we get 5 cents a can
@@garywhelton9304 I should waiting for the prices to go up but I didn’t but that’s the most I ever took off
that's the thing we don't know if prices will ever get better, all we have is hope. it's a gamble, hold or sell
@@Okiescrapper couldn’t said it any better buddy that’s the truth!
Heck yea. I hauled a nice load once. I'm saving them up again.

interesting cage

Thanks for the info, most of the can's I get are from our own use, I go pick up some can's from time to time,
Mabey ill see u at washita pipe and steel tomorrow 😊
Same here. It takes about 24 cans to make a pound so if he had 100 pounds, that would be 2,400 cans. At $0.05 each, that would be $120
so if I had a 16 foot trailer full with a 7 foot roof it would be worth the time and fuel to take them to another state to cash them in for the .05 deposit. but could I do that to someone, make them count that many can's. lol

Here in New Brunswick CANADA we get 5 cents back per can .
I would feel for the guy that had to count all those can's
I bought a crusher. All get crushed. I’m working on garbage bag number 4. They are heavy. Weight? 👍🐎
this can cage would be very heavy if they were all crushed, and it may make it harder to unload
We have a 5 cent deposit!
at this time I think there are only about 6 states that have a deposit, and Canada
The buyer supplies us with bags that hold 1200 cans and takes our word on the count .
That's crazy
That's great, sounds like a good deal
Prices went down on sherd when they got the baler there
so the scrappers are paying for the new bailer, they will get a lot more weight into the train cars now and save money on shipping, I remember a time when you always had a line at the payout counter
👍
thanks for stopping by

Not bad amount of cash that you got for the cans
yeah, can't just don't pay like they use to. but not a bad price
Im surprised the dude at crusher is smoking.maybe because r state is hi risk for fires the yrds here have posted "No Smoking on Premises"
they all have their own rules
Cans only pay 3c per lbs in Tampa so no one collects them
I can see why, (no pun intended) and it takes a bunch of them to make a lb.
I hardly even consider saving cans. It's just not worth it, 127lbs gets you less than $60. Too bad not all states have bottle redemption
with bottle redemption you pay for the bottle or can upfront so all you are doing is getting your money back, it is a good idea to keep the litter down, and I think more states will start doing it someday

Was it worth the gas? $50 is $50, mind.
20 miles to the gallon, and 30 mile round trip. so about 5 or 6 dollars in fuel
@@Okiescrapper God bless cheap fuel.
