- EP 152: Curious SEALS playing with GO PRO!
After enjoying a magical sunset and a tango on the deck of Lady Africa we opted to hop in the freezing waters of Cape Town and go for a Scuba Dive. The water was a bone chilling 8'degrees Celsius. (Yay so warm) We went for two dives.. A kelp dive for Glen and Ricky and a seal Dive for me and Wade. They were so curious about us and our bubbles. It was so magical but up to a point until our bodies were in spasm and numb 🥶🥶 We opted to take a defrost on Clifton Beach and soak up the sun to the maximum. We also awaited Alex Thomson's arrival into Cape Town.
See ya next week!! Thanks for watching, don't forget to subscribe below if you haven't already & give us a big thumbs up as well as share this with all your friends & family!

Ready to go guys! You will never be more ready than now! Stupid virus!
Soon soon 😉
Green with envy. You both will be able to go diving when every you like in warm waters. Living the dream soon.
This was a very musical episode.
Lekker man lekker
Baie dankie 😊
I was so pulling for Alex Thompson!!!! Glad you went down to show your support!
Pretty awesome seeing that amazing build.
That dive looked like so much fun
It was! But freezing! 😊
Great video! That dive looked epic! Alex Thompson is a Legend. I was really hoping he would get that elusive win this time around:(
Thanks so much Robert. We hoped so too!
Like being on holiday for the rest of your life... 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼 you guys are doing it. The rest of us are still in the rat race.
I wouldn't say holiday. We have worked harder on the boat than we have anywhere else you don't have a fixed income every month 😂 But we do it on our own terms so that's definitely a benifit.
Loved the dance!!! Amazing scenery of this beautiful coast. Seal swimming footage simply stunning: National Geographic pro quality.
Much love to you guys... thanks for shining your light and for sharing!
Thanks so much Jon 🤗
I dived Sandy Bay/Justin's Caves on Sunday. Glad to see you guys enjoyed it!
Thanks Kyle. It's damn cold 😂
hi i am going to south africa 🇿🇦 for the first time i get to see in person where my mom was born
Really enjoyed the diving. The sunset at the beginning of the episode was fantastic. Beautiful colors. Take care and have a great week.
Thank you. You too 🤗
If you know the water is going to ve cols, you dring allot of water ahead of the time an pee in you suit when you sit down in the 1st puddle. It will warm you up quickly and you will be able to handle the cold much easier.
Also, when you buy a suit, go for the zipless double breast long john 7mm suit.
Also knot a double nylon suit will cool you down a lot quicker than a single nylon suite.
Remember to lubricate your legs to avoid gaining scarf marks from the suit on the rear on your legs from long distance swimming on the surface in the sun.
Spit into you goggles and rinse it with sea water to keep the fog out on your lences. Clear the water out of your goggles by facing upwards to the surface and pressing above your nose on the goggle and blow a small amount of air through you nose. You have to be under the water to do this.
Be patient and wise with the depth you take on when snorkeling. You still need to get out of the water with the breath you have left in your system.
Never ever try to impress anyone with your achievements. You dot this for fun and to live another day to experience it over and over again.
Respect wafer and you will experience over tine the pleasure of what it has to offer to you.
Enjoy, as much or even more that what I got to learn over many years.
Thought I would see you and the crew been as agile as the seals 😜. What an awesome experience
Muizenberg Simonstown side would probably be better for diving due to the warmer water. Bahamas, Azores, canary islands...Mediterranean countries are favourites for sailing boats. I'd try India and Japan...the orient too. Good luck with your journey. Will be following keenly. Subscribed
OMG I KNEW IT!!! I saw you guys next to the road!
Just to prove it, It was on 29 Nov between 12 and 1PM on the M6. Am I right??
Sure was! Haha ☺
The beach looks magical. But not many people swimming.
The water is freezing so people don't really swim but the sand is so soft ☺
Amazing how you guys just camp on the side of the road love cape town
It's awesome! 😊
seals are so much fun! did any of them bark at u? Should try dive in false bay if you get a chance a lot more life and nowhere nears as cold.8 degrees is something.
No barks but we didn't try our luck ☺ it was amazing but freezing!
Nice tunes, followed the Hugo Boss boat on line, like the sun tanned legs, well most of them
Thanks ☺
Vendee Globe; Solo Nonstop. The current record is something like 74 days! So, those boats pack a speed!
Crazy speed!
We’re you nervous about the Cape Town great whites?
Not really, we were kinda just enjoying the seals and kelp that the great whites slipped our minds.. but if we did end up seeing them... that would've been a different story 😂💩
Which dive operator you went through? Ill be going there in February and would love to dive with seals. Already a rescue schba diver.
It is called into the blue. Was a epic experience just very cold 😂
@livingwiththemaias I'm confused as to where to dive with them more, near Hout Bay or near Simonstown?
@@saketgokhale4291 if I remember correctly we were between camps bay and the 12 apostles. If you go with the diving company they’ll take you there.
Do you recollect the dive company name?
Into the blue.
How do you know they were Seals and not Sea Lions?
Google Cape Fur Seals ☺
Any updates on departure? You didn't mention anything so I guess it's not good 😐 😕 🤷
It's coming up on our patreon video this week 😉
@@livingwiththemaias Okay i hope its good news!
