Par time on this mission should be 25 minutes. Because you cant beat this without cheesy exploits.
25 is cutting it close. That fat bitch sequence up to the cutscene eats almost 20 minutes on it's own.
I was exactly 19 min into the run when I collected the target designator at the very end and accidentally swapped weapons. IF you swap weapons at the end you lose the designator, and it will never come back. so I had to turn to this guide to find skips. I did the skips but it barely saved me any time
Yeah, same. I reached under 21 minutes when the scorpion shows up.
You really only need to do the one at the beginning if you’re lagging. Sprint wherever possible, bunny hop, and kill as few enemies as you need to progress. This level has no mandatory firefight sections, just run for the shield generators and grenade them, take out snipers with a quick headshot (you start with a BR so it’s not that bad). I got just under 19min on Easy using only the trick at the beginning to get the Mammoth moving. Git Gud
A much easier way of doing this is doing the "Sniper School" cross game playlist, when it gets to the reclaimer mission it starts in the sniper canyon like 2 thirds of the way through the level with a fresh timer that counts towards your par time. Its how I got this achievement without even trying.
This needs to be pinned at the top of comments. If that's true for everyone, it would cut off around 8 to 10 minutes.

I find it very funny that most of the Master Chief Collections Par Times are extremely lenient, especially towards those playing on Easy. But then you come across massive, dumbass levels like Reclaimer and Shutdown that are so strictly bound to the level requirements of a specific time limit, that the only way to achieve it is to cheat.
Pretty sure the devs just assigns random times to each lvl without play testing
@@pawnix4122 There are random instances such as Tayari Plaza from Halo 3: ODST where the Par-Time was three minutes, but often times the developers have a set Par-Time and Par-Score for missions. It's obviously not play tested, cuz some of the Par-Times and Scores are ridiculous.
@@signas501 tayari plaza is extremely short, probably the shortest level in all the games. You can easily beat it in under three minutes.
@@haydenchu58 Try that on Heroic and Legendary without being a speedrunner.

There's a specific playlist with this mission (either Halo 4 or Crossgame) where the entire Mammoth part of the level is skipped. This still counts for Par Time.
Wow, I got to 3:10 and was like, how the hell is he making that jump. And realised he'd picked up a jetpack at some point. Had to go all the way back to the start of the video (0:42) and discovered I had to restart the mission and try again. Should probably mention the jetpack at some point, it's pretty critical to this run.
it's a literal mission objective when you first get on the mammoth, the fact that you missed it is purely on you champ.

Funny I’ve beaten other missions at 20 mins with the par time was 25. Meanwhile this mission should’ve deff been 25 mins instead. I don’t know how they expect you to beat this mission with only 20 min. Without these shortcuts/glitches it’s almost impossible without them. It’s like 343 wants you to glitch, but not in halo infinite oh no, they patch everything in the campaign. Especially when I watched a video of 343 employees glitching throughout halo infinite campaign to beat the game on legendary in less then 3 hours and then a mont later they PATCH up those very same shortcuts/ glitches they used to get the achievement and also posted it on TH-cam. God I miss bungie, who knows where they would’ve taken us if they made the last 3 halos instead of 343.

Yeah, so if you play this level as you're supposed to you will never get par time.
I was brushing up on 20 minutes at the cutscene playing normally, while still ignoring most of the enemies and just grabbing objectives.
And there ya go, cheesing it up gave me the time 15:59

Is it even possible to get the Par Time without doing those jump skips? Just factoring in those forced cutscenes with the timer still going, 20mins is cutting it really close if not done perfectly.

Seriously, why would they make par time literally impossible without exploits and skipping just about every enemy. Halo 4 has the hardest part time out of all the games.
are you supposed to let the mammoth get hit by the liche? every time I do this, the mammoth won't move after being EMP'd
I waited longer than you did to destroy the liche, and it still will not move. no matter how quickly or how slowly I destroy it. I even cleared out all the covenant, moved to the next area to trigger lasky's dialogue, and the mammoth still just sits there EMP'd
also i followed all these tricks, got to the end of the level, and the fucking gravity well WASNT THERE. It never spawned, and I couldn't finish the level
I had the same problem. The mammoth would freeze. I waited for the mammoth to park before jetpacking up the cactus and that fixed it.
man I'm stuck on the halo 2 laso gravemind playlist. I'm up to the elevator to save the marines atm. I got the crappiest checkpoint right as I'm about to hit the floor then run down to the thied level like you said but I'm just getting raped by enemy weapons and plasma Nades. i would have replied on your gravemind laso video but the comments were disabled. any suggestions?

This has to be impossible without using the exploits to skip major parts. I skipped all the parts from this video, but I died like 5 times due to bad luck either getting sniped by a jackal multiple times, splattered by a ghost, or hit by a wraith and I got fricken 20:40. There's no way someone can do this legit.
Just tried this normally with 20:07 at the end, wouldve done it but on the last part my ghost slammed into the ground and got stuck in the floor, costing me a death and 30 seconds. Definately possible without skips and such, just real hard.
jdc9786 I would absolutely love to see a video of it being done with no skips or exploits. I’m sure it can be done, but barely. I got 22 minutes on easy coop my very first attempt with no deaths. I did end up getting this achievement though, and only have 23 left for the whole MCC.
You should mention be sure to get the jetpack ‘cause I forgot

Well darn. I just finished this achievement in 18:38 without the tricks. And now i'm banging my head against the way because how much easier and faster this makes the run.

Didn't work for me trying it the first time around, closed discord and restarted game.. after reading a comment below that its a possible solution below. And that worked.

Don't jump. Just sprint straight into the rock face and jetpack when you hit the wall, I was having problems too because I was trying to jump at the base of the wall. Just sprint into it and it kind of launches you up. Then start jetpacking.

Is anyone have trouble with the part where you’re supposed to jump on ship after you use the target locator? As soon as I target wait the half second I jump down and the ship falls thru the rocks and nothing loads after. On PC
I just did it a while ago and it worked just fine at the first try. I am also on PC
I have the same issue! And I get a checkpoint right as I hit the rock below the ship forcing me to start over the mission each time...
Sully Richard I restarted it but I found out you have wait a little he talks about it later in the guide. I can confirm it still works
kinda bs that you need to speedrun to beat the par time, nice tutorials

this level sucks to speedrun without cheesing. without cheesing i just did a good 22 minute run avoiding every type of enemy i could. thanks for the guide anyways i got a 19:10 dying twice one where i couldnt make the jump to the covenant airship and another on the very last part of the level when both wraiths cooked me lol

How did you make it to the top with the jet pack? It’s impossible for me.
Are you jumping? You want to jump right before hitting jetpack in order to get an extra boost.
Halo Completionist I was jumping and that was why I wasn’t making it. I sprinted at the wall and then just jet packed my way up. Thanks for the guide. Wouldn’t have made the time otherwise. Also I like that you said it’s on Easy so you shouldn’t die. YOU WOULD THINK THAT BUT THIS IS HALO 4!!!! Damn Prometheans.
@@slovak4life1991 I also couldn't make the boost jump there but I noticed some nearby rocks that helped me get to the same area and it still worked
Does this still work in the PC version?
It still works but it looks like the achievement is bugged and won't unlock for most people
@@linksfood i had to restart my game to get them to pop. Some folks have a theory that its somehow related to discord being open while playing h4, but I have no proof of that.
I was able to get it right now, using the method shown in this video. I had a little trouble "ghosting" through the barrier as chief kept hopping out on the side opposite of the shield. I think there is a bit of timing there but eventually I got through. Other than that the rest of the tricks were easy.
I accidentally despawned that gravity thing at the very last checkpoint by continuing to jet pack up 😂 luckily I was able to restart the checkpoint lol
