Documentation indicates Distributed COM built in, Event Log Reader and Server Operator. Not sure why he suggests Administrator

You are both correct; you should not add the user to the administrator group; but, I did it to speeds up the demonstration.
Only group you are required to add it to are:
* Distributed COM built in,
* Event Log Reader and
* Server Operator.
