    I've owned 2 secrid wallets and I can say the leather is great. My only gripe is with the felt pads getting worn out causing the cards to start to come out if and when you shake it. I do realize they can replace the felt pads if worn out by taking it to a secrid repair shop.

    • @Joshua88Graham

      Well its good to know they are replaceable! I didn't know there were Secrid repair shops, I haven't ever seen one in Canada. Overall though, Secrid really makes a quality product. Can't speak highly enough of them

    I am new to these types of minimalist EDC pop up card wallets and have wanted one ever since my supervisor whipped one out at a meeting. I see that these are on the pricier side and I have never really spent more than say ~$30 or so on a wallet. So I'm wondering if they are worth the price of admission. So far the big 3 of these types seem to be Ekster, Pularys, and Secrid for the quality. However, I'm not sure how sold I am on these because if there's two things I value in wallets it is banknote storage, and a slot to hold my ID's and other misc. papers like receipts n' stuff. Of these recommendations, which would you say is the best price to performance of the bunch with a reliable card pop up mechanism?

    • @Joshua88Graham
      @Joshua88Graham  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would 100 percent say Secrid and/or Pularys. Secrid is pricier but I have been using their wallets for years and quality holds up. Pound for pound so to speak, they are the best. Pularys has a lot of variety which is great (in terms of storage options), and they also are more affordable which is a big plus. So I'd say its definitely between those two.

      @sebseb8877 It's pretty wonderful. So far, I've had no issues with the mechanism, and it does have some ample storage. However, the wallet is a bit on the bulkier side despite its size, which requires new to keep it in either my bag or coat pockets rather than my back pants pocket. I have also purchased an Ekster since it was on sale, and while it's nice, the fact that the Boston mini has a button to keep it shut is very nice.

      @@Joshua88Graham definitely helpful as I bought a Secrid mini wallet in nice bright Ochre leather. But *Porsche makes a Secrid wallet* similar to the mini with a better looking snap enclosure?! It’s pricey at like $115 but I like the classy metallic closure that runs the length of the wallet with Porsche name. It’s the same design as the Secrid mini but the enclosure looks much more masculine IMHO and seems like it would be slightly more streamlined. Can’t speak to leather quality but I think it’s at least on par with Secrid. I cans find any reviews unfortunately. I think Secrid should do some type of magnetic enclosure and with that aluminum case it could probably protect against any issues if some right. Sorry for the rant but I’m desperately trying to replace my Fidelo wallet because the card mechanism isn’t as smooth as a Secrid knock-off I bought for $13 on Amazon 5yrs ago which lasted a month and broke. So I’m willing to pay a premium and now am a firm believer in buy-once… cry-once!

    Its clear to me from your review the Pularys is the one to get. You bend your own guidelines to make Secrid come out on top lol. That warranty difference seems a small thing for such well built wallets. Especially since I can buy the Pularys twice fro the cost of the Secrid. However, I understand your brand loyalty and can respect it. Just gotta let people know you are biased though.

I truly thus far just haven’t seen one that has everything (and even Secrid isn’t perfect) but just ticks most of the boxes. Pularys for me is 100 percent the one to go for, for that price. For someone like myself who's been carrying a wallet In My back pocket for over 30 years I can't imagine having a snap button to secure it being in my back pocket. Do they think men carry a pocket book around to put it in? Some of them look too tall to sit in the pocket properly considering if we are talking security and it sticks our of your pocket it can be stolen easier. I think being able to track the wallet is the only bonus but then again a thief is going to take your money cards and dump the wallet. Then try to use your cards and dump the cards so this all seems rather pointless.

      Hey there! Appreciate the time to share your honesty. Some people just enjoy the traditional Bi Fold wallet (as I’m guessing you do). When it comes to these wallets, all I can say is the concerns you posted about height or the button/clasp, honestly do not pose a hinderance to fitting into a pocket - pant or jacket. These wallets are not really any taller than a regular wallet (if anything they carry a smaller surface area). But again, I respect that minimalist wallets aren’t for everybody. Tried and true bi fold wallets still hold lots of value. Again, thank you for taking the time to comment and share your opinions. Be safe and well out there!

    • @Joshua88Graham
      @Joshua88Graham  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My pleasure Jack, smart move to avoid the Vulkit. Take a look at Pularys as I truly think for the price the offer the best quality for price argument. Not as well made as Secrid but really really nice, with lots of variety. Not sure about shipping but they should be even cheaper than Vulkit or at the very least not much more expensive (I got a whole bunch of wallet videos featuring different brands, so hopefully they can be of help). Be safe and well out there brother and hopefully you can find a wallet for your pops for Christmas. Appreciate you stopping by to share and comment

      @@Joshua88Graham Yeah the Pularys is what I went for haha. I've had a Secrid for a few years, hence wanting to get my dad something similar, but the prices are crazy right now - was about £40 when i got mine, now they're £70+! Vulkit is £20 (lol) and Pularys nicely in the middle at £40. Cheers mate, Merry Christmas to you and yours

    If you shake these types of wallets around, won’t the cards fly out?

  • @Jack_Dab
    @Jack_Dab 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The problem for me with finding wallets is mostly that I still use cash and especially coins and most wallets nowadays focus on cards. Meanwhile the ones that have space for cash and coins have space for like 4-6 cards, which is not enough for me either.
    I have a great, thick, leather wallet that I adore but it has wear and tear and especially the card holding part has worn out and torn, essentially those cards are holding on, on hopes and dreams. Its an interesting design because the cards are held sideways not top down like most wallets do, I actually prefer the sideways design but it has proven to be more fragile I suppose.
    So i’m looking for a change and to be honest I almost bought a Vulkit but I decided to watch some reviews first.
    Still can’t decide x3
    P.S. The wallet I have isn’t from any well known brand, in fact I can’t even find them online, but its been a solid wallet for many years so I’m happy. Besides i’m wary of overpriced highly hyped/promoted wallets like Ridge, doesn’t seem worth it to spend like hundreds of euros on a wallet.

      I’ve had a few Vulkits. The video is absolutely correct; they are cheaply made. Tried both the side pop up mechanism and bottom pop-up mechanism. Cards will fall out if you shake the wallets slightly.

      Honestly I think you’re winning either way. The value with Pularys makes it okay that it doesn’t have the same warranty,l. Though Secrid is always my suggestion if ppl are willing to spend the money. Just be aware if you do go the Secrid route, to actually get the three year warranty you have to register the product with them. Very easy process, but just remember that. • @mylinuxstruggle5495
    @mylinuxstruggle5495 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have owned both the secrid and Ekster on release Ekster was around $150 and it was a waiting list. The tracker and extra services Ekster offers it's bulky and ultimately not worth it.
    Secrid sadly is just on another level Pulayris is good but only because they mostly copied secrid. They horded the patten on the latch. So Pulayris was clever to wait.
    Another thing that completely separates the wallets is when you add cash. The wallets without the latch can't really stay closed when you start to add bills.
    I was looking at wallets again to see if there was some new inovatiations. I was also a early adopter to secrid. So I have one of the original secrid that had the flaw where some middle section cards could possibly fall out.
    They have fixed it in later versions. It still is amazing. The premium feel is good. Also the RFID blocking. Very important for the security of your cards.
