Welcome to another Mortal Kombat 11!
Now In today history of video I will be talking on the rather huge task of talking about the realms of the Mortal Kombat universe, how they came to be, who.what Inhabits them and exactly has happened to them over the course of the series
The realms are a deep intricate part of the Mortal Kombat series and Is ultimately what drives the main plot of the series and characters, In order for me to talk about the realms I need to go back to the dawn of time, explain how they came Into being and what has ultimately happened to them over the series life span.
With the changes to the new timeline, the Mortal Kombat series has had different approaches with what happens to realms as well as the exploration and inclusion of newer ones!
With the series thriving more then It ever has with new faces and characters theirs an endless supply for what we could potentially explore!

Every time a new character is introduced to the series, it sounds like an Oprah giveway: ''You get a realm! And you get a realm! And you also get a realm!!''
I would love to interview one of the people who got a realm from that Oprah show.
Guy:"I went to the Oprah Winfred Show expecting a car and walked out with a realm."

I haven't played MK since the original back in the 90s, when society was shitting a brick over 16-bit blood & gore..but aren't these realms basically planets? Or are they more like separate dimensions? Are there space ships in this franchise now? I have questions.
Also, it seems like with all this lore and realms and whatnot an open world rpg would be in order.
@@rts0fft0ya16 Yes, the realms are alternate dimensions. There is already an MK where you can explore the realms, called MK Deception.
Fun fact: MK vampires are only sensitive to Earthrealm's sun. Outworld's sun is totally fine.

Cozmix Gaming in the original timeline he was. But in the new timeline he is but is rather neutral.
His actions make him a villain, not his reasoning. If you kill several people or are willing to that is not considered heroic

I think instead of MK11 being about time I think the story should've been of how Dark Raiden started the war between EarthRealm & OutWorld & how they other realms such as Edenia, Chaos Realm Order Realm etc would have played into the war
It seems as if they went with time travel so they could reboot, but adding to the story kind of makes that unclear

I can’t wait til mortal kombat just merged with dc comics eventually and we get a whole new series with new characters. The timeline so messed up maybe the only way to fix it is to end it and carry on after there deaths. That’s the reason why they even have a weird timeline bc they killed off characters they didn’t want to
In Jade's MK9 ending, she did faint and ended up in some realm while unconscious. Could that be considered the Dream Realm

With the Aftermath DLC, it is confirmed that in this timeline Sindel basically sacrificed her realm to Shao Khan because she saw him as a strong leader. Of course with Kronika altering people's personalities and histories, she was probably the one to mess with Sindel's history to make it easier for her to take over.
MK Deception introduces chaosrealm and order realm

They were mentioned in every game since Deception, they are just not relevant to the stories of MK9-MK11.

I know what you mean by that Chameleon and Khameleon (one is the male, and the other is female) one of the most misunderstood and complex characters around. Truly an enigma.
Reptile should be a good character in the new timeline. He and barrack only care about th betterment of there race witch caused them to be loyal to who ever for there cause.

As far as visiting/residing, I'm stuck between Edenia, Outworld, and the Vaeternus:
Edenia - It's lust and has that majestic feel to it.
Outworld - It's a great place to learn about the differing species.
Vaeternus - I like Nitara and am hoping we get to one day explore more of her realm.

SOLOL1F3 it was an error, the writers meant to say that cetrion came to Jade in the dreamrealm. But they didn’t make that 100% clear

Since Earthrealm would be too easy of an answer since its where we all live, if I had to choose one I would have to say Edenia. As being the homeworld of Kitana, Jade, Rain, Tanya, Sindel, Taven, and Daegon all we actually know about is what you described and the fact that they do have a monarchy put in place. The only jarring thing about living there would be the lack of technology that we have here on Earth.
Although there was a question I wanted to ask you HBTW or anyone on here. Since the NetherRealm essentially is the MK reality's Hell if Shao Khan merged it with Outworld would all of the souls of villainous people then go to Outworld? Or would a new place be created for them? Cause if its the first scenario then Shao Khan would never have to worry about dying because he would just reappear in Outworld upon his death ( loophole immortality for the win). Just a weird scenario that popped in my head that I would love to hear anyone's opinion on.

Could it be possible that sindel’s memories (her arcade ending) are fake created by the magic of Shang tsung? How would the story change if the time line change a thousand after edenia fall?

They really are too overwhelmed to ever give us a proper storyline for the game and I think that’s partially because you can only do so much with a fighting game without sacrificing the actual gameplay for a bigger story.
I’m really surprised they haven’t bothered dealing with the One Being yet.
The One Being would probably be the final boss, fighting him would mean the merging of all of the realms anyway. He’s too big and powerful to have as a villain
Jimbles Notronbo I understand but I meant at least mentioning him in this new storyline - they could definitely downplay him because I felt for a character like Kronika - she really was an underwhelming villain who is considered a Titan.

Question: how is it that in the original timeline, it was made pretty clear that merged realms COULD be separated, but in the current timeline, the opposite is true (in other words, the de-merging of realms is NOT possible)?
I think Outworld would be a fun place to stage adventures in. Not necessarily from any of the Khan's perspectives, but an adventurer's will to survive and prosper in that harsh land. War within Outworld would be interesting without a direct focus on Earth Realm.
I'd like to see an opportunity to explore it for its own sake in a fighting game or even an adventure game. But a fighting game could do it well.

Id like to say thank you for videos like this. Man this was incredible and was just so fun to listen to while learning more about the realms. I havent played mk deception in 10 years or so, but i wish they brought the other realms into the new canon more. But again thanks so much for quality content like this.

it would be nice to see chaos realm,order realm,edenia and sub-realms in mk12 since the time line in mk11 is restarted as well as some stages of them and more insight of the cultures residing them.
In MK11 there's an intro between Sindel and Subzero that says that the Cryomancers were exiled from Edenia, so I guess they then ended up in Outworld, then Earthrealm.
If Onaga was being influenced by the One Being, would he have been merging realms into Outworld before Shao Kahn came to power? Or did the Dragon King simply unify Outworld into a cohesive whole? I guess that the mortal kombat tournament was established before Shao Kahn's invasion into Edenia, but it didn't seem to have an impact on the merging of Arnyek, Osh-Tekk, and possibly Vaeternus. I've read somewhere that Zaterra's merging was preluded by a tournament.
I would want to live in the Edenian realm. Was always my favorite realm learning about ever since playing MK as a kid. That and I feel like I would get murdered in any of the other realms lol

Brendan Brown in the original timeline Johnny Cage was killed by Motaro and then his spirit went on into the after life this was in Mortal Kombat Trilogy before Mortal Kombat 4 but he did came back to life afterwards.
Everything about Sindel in the old lore is almost identical to the new lore. So I don’t think that Sindel killed Jared. I think it’s just the revenant side of her telling us lies

I like to think that the Healing thing Shang Tsung, Fujin, and Nightwolf did only made her human. She still had her Revenant tendencies only with a Mortal body and her own consciousness now. Hence why she kills the revanents and betrays everyone in her MK11 ending

I really wish Seido; the Realm of Order and Chaosrealm would be the focus of the plot again. You'd think with Kronika's threat to BALANCE to all reality, you'd think realities all about ORDER and CHAOS would play a huge role in Mortal Kombat 11..... 🙄

In The original timeline there was 9 realms Earthrealm, Netherrealm, Chaosrealm, Outworld,Orderrealm, Edenia, Zaterra, Vaeternus and The Heavens, In the second timeline the added the Tarkatan Homeland, Arnyek, island, Ohstek, Naknadan, and The Dreamrealm, Hinparr and the nightmarerealm are separate realm out of the main story and are not canon, the Dreamrealm is not yet confirmed to be canon or not
Though after thinking about it, the information for Syndel's origins in 9 somewhat came from Quan Chi's own mouth, and if anything the guy is a certified liar when it suits his goals and needs. And we don't actually see Syndel actually confirm that is what happened, but when 11 came out some of her interaction dialogue is essentially her saying "And you trusted the words of a demon!". Which by the way, honesty is not exactly something that they are known for just look at what Quan Chi did with Scorpion by manipulating the information that he possessed.

Yo HTBWarrior. Ive really been diggin you “history behind ‘x’” vids. Especially this last one. Good stuff. If i may offer one bit of constructive criticism, i would suggest extending the gaps between your cuts. I recognise what you are doing, but those natural little gaps in speech imo actually make it easier to follow what you’re saying. One long piece with no “breathing gaps” makes it tough to follow everything sometimes. And it results in your words being “snipped”. Again, great stuff, but maybe not being quite as tight with your cuts would help. Otherwise, keep up the good stuff!

Michael Parks maybe the time reset messed up the timeline. Maybe Sindel is just a useless character now and the Elder Gods were the reason Shao Kahn couldn’t invade. That would suck.
